Great video. I own a 2 door Honda Accord. I couldn't find a video for my Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Gts. Watching ur video helped me to know how to go about fixing it.
Excellent tutorial. I might mention that the "10 millimeter bolts" you talked about several times are actually 6 mm bolts. The heads/nuts take a 10mm wrench, but they have a thread diameter of six millimeters. (an SAE 1/4-20 bolt generally has a 7/16" head, but it is a quarter-inch bolt....)
I really like your how-to fix-it videos! However, I've never been able to pull the glass out and reinstall it so quickly as you. I've only done Ford and GM though, and I broke a new Ford window, but luckily succeeded on the second one. :(
Sometime's you have to program the window too so the "AUTO" function works. Usually you do this by operating the window and hold the button a few seconds
Daniel, hope married life is going good for you and your wife. Also I noticed the window had terrible smudgy dirt at edge, so maybe cleaning the rubber is also a good idea before installing the glass:)
Awesome.. In my case. I have replaced all power window channel. But while its closed, alignment bent down to right side soo it got stuck... What to do plz reply...
Hi there I have a 1999 Vitara 16V here in Thailand. For a couple of years the driver;s window would fail, I thumped the door to cure it and eventually made a little hole in the door lining and tapped the motor via a slim screwdriver through the hole to the motor. It mostly worked but is now unreliable. I don't know what a aftermarket motor/regulator set costs but I know from Suzuki it's 8000baht (over $250) Even half of that is a lot in Thailand. My question is, given its almost certain to be the motor at fault, is it possible to disassemble these window motors to replace the brushes or repair them? Or are they fixed permanently together? Thanks v much
Daniel-I am running into problems with reading reviews on Amazon of the windows rolling up and down Backwards!! The one I am trying to replace did the same thing. Any tips on where to find a regulator assembly that actually works correctly?? Thanks for your help. I LOVE watching your videos!
I have a little pin on the side of my window that broke off that held the window on the track. Any idea how to fix it? Everything else works great. Car is 22 years old and is a great little car. Never bash a Buick if it’s taken care of they run forever.
I have a question on door locks. ‘97 mountaineer, rear driver side door. I think my wife locked the doors and some idiot slammed the door and bent the latch. Now, the door will not open. I have removed the door panel, so I have access to all the internal parts. Is there anyway I can unlatch the door from the inside. I know the longer rod moves to the rear to open the latch. I can pull the door handle to open the door but not far enough to unlock it. I think the latch is binding on the door post. If I can get it open I will take my Drexel and grind off any burrs on the latch or replace the latch if that does not work. I just have to get it open .
I have vw 2012 passat. Once car crosses 5 miles per hour we hear a sound door automatically locks. i)ut when we try to open the door on move it opens. Please tell me how to rectify this error.
@@lucidityfps9638 Glass typically breaks when someone smashes it in with a brick and steals all your belongings. Thanks for replying with such a great answer.
@@Djentleman511 Exactly, that’s why I’m asking because if it’s broken then it obviously needs to be replaced. Why would you ask someone online what to do if you need to replace it? It’s kind of common sense. 🥴🙄
My rear window has stopped working when I press the button I can hear the motor working but it's also making like a crackling noise does anyone know if I need a new regulator or it just sounds like something has gone loose or repluging?
Would it be advisable to lubricate the cables a little bit? Also, I really wish they would replace all the crappy plastic parts with metal parts. I know it would cost more when you buy the car, but I think it would be cheaper in the long run. I hate plastic!
Can u be more detailed on how to install the window back in I can get it to raise up when I put it in when I raise the window up it just stops have way
I could use some help i got a 2000 ford Expedition with the 5-4 it difficult to start when it's warmed up and when you cold start it in the morning it start's up fine i already gave it a tune up and it seem to help a little bit but it still does it any points you can give me
I changed the power window regulator on my 2013 Chevy Cruze, and it was just about the same exact job as in this video. But I forgot to plug in the motor so I went through the panel removal and replacement twice. Whoops.
I used to have a 99 Lexus and when this happened to me a few years ago I brought it to the Lexus dealership they charged me over $1200 to fix it. They "generously" gave a an umbrella which I'm still using after I handed them the money. I was such an idiot though.
I love my cars with crank windows. Only ever had one failure of a manual window crank, and it was the regulator that let go after ten years. No more intro and/or outro music? Do you have to keep paying a fee at certain intervals to use those tunes ?
Stan Patterson the computer I had the intro and outro clips on experienced a hard drive failure, so I have to create them again. I used royalty free music, so there wasn’t any cost there fortunately.
YO! Crank windows suck when you go through the drive-thru or toll booth. If you think crank windows are better than you better look awful hard for your next car. Most have electric windows these days.
Who says I drive a car from "these days" ? Most cars "these days" also have automatic transmissions. Because that's all people want to do is push buttons. Push a button for their window to go down. Plop it into drive and gas on it, the brakes will stop me. I've never owned a car with power windows, although I did just part with a car that had an "automatic", albeit a rather primitive one by "today's standards". I don't go thru too many toll booths, and the only drive-thru's I hit are car washes. I park my car in the parking lot, get out, walk inside so I can wash my hands before eating my meal. That way, I don't get lettuce, pickles, onions or sesame seed buns all over the upholstery or carpet.
By far the best most concisely done video I’ve ever seen on auto repair. Your tempo and video excellent. I could understand every word. Thank you.
Outstanding, well-done video. Easy, clear and simple. Excellent camera work.
Thank you for showing this completely and slowly.
The best video so far I've seen regarding window regulators here on UA-cam.
Thank you and greetings from Portugal.

This was extremely helpful. Thanks for the clear explanation and all the attention to detail.

Thank you sir. My daughter put my ID card inside of window... after this video watching, I fixed it. From South Korea.
Patience is also key to these jobs I’ve learned.

Very helpful!
Hello Daniel nice vids! Thx for the help! Can you tell me what lift you use? Thx!
Excellent video!
Ese mismo elevador tiene arreglo nomas se le cambian los cables
Did you stick that sagging rubber seal that was seen hanging down at the bottom of the door?
Sometime's you have to program the window too so the "AUTO" function works. Usually you do this by operating the window and hold the button a few seconds
Do you have to re-program the auto up/down on this model? The newer ones need it.
Its very helpful to save money. If you have time and patience you can do it
Thanks very helpful
Replaced my window regulator only to find out my old one was fine. 🤬 Next idea is the switch. But your video was super helpful.
Oh shoot.
Great job!
Thank you very much. 👍
Can you add a video showing how to reassemble a 2008 Chrysler Sebring window. I’m confused as to where all the steel wires hook onto.
Thanks for the demo on how to replace. I got a 1999 Toyota camry, 3 windows wont go down n the driver window is going up slower. Thanks
Daniel, hope married life is going good for you and your wife. Also I noticed the window had terrible smudgy dirt at edge, so maybe cleaning the rubber is also a good idea before installing the glass:)

Hi, would that be the same for a Honda Civic EX? Same door?
Gracias buen video!!! You really show all the details.

hello bro thanks so much
Excellent!
well done / good job
is this the same part for TSX 2004-08?
u make it look that easy....
Very nice
What kind of tool are you using to fasten screws
If not working, is it always the motor? Can it probably be just a fuse somewhere maybe?
BEST VIDEO!!!!
Will this work if only one rear window does not go up in suv???
One sharp mechanic
weatherstrip on the bottom came out of the groove...something to check before popping panel into place
How much that one you replace?
Pretty good stuff

Any more videos on the Excursion?
Thanks for the video.
Don't forget to reinstall the cable for the door handle. :)
Can I do this on a 2002 Chevy trailblazer?
Window still wants to go up even though it's up all the way? Is there a mechanism that triggers the motor to stop once the window is all the way up?
Hi thanks for the video. One question - what if my regulator and motor are fine, but just the glass needs to be replaced?
Why would you need to replace the window?
@@lucidityfps9638 Glass typically breaks when someone smashes it in with a brick and steals all your belongings. Thanks for replying with such a great answer.

Assuming people have common sense. Hah, that's a good one!
Why didn't you chk reg, motor before putting back together? You chk because a lot of after market parts arnt always wired right
My rear window has stopped working when I press the button I can hear the motor working but it's also making like a crackling noise does anyone know if I need a new regulator or it just sounds like something has gone loose or repluging?

Mine only opens and closes when the door is open would this fix it ?
It is a perfect album, it does not need to be fixed.
Can u be more detailed on how to install the window back in I can get it to raise up when I put it in when I raise the window up it just stops have way
Is that the Excursion i see yes it is😍😍
Roberto Rivas should I keep it?
Of course you should she's a beast keep her running

DanielJaegerFilms If it still runs like you expect it to, then yes. Plus, that sucker is close to reaching 400,000 miles.
Please tell me he remembered to hook up the internal door handle.
Give your life to the Lord Jesus CHRIST Today
What if the window doesn’t go all the way up?
How many miles are on the Excursion now?
Santiago Figueroa 351,000 I think
Can you just replace the cable if that’s the problem
hi ariana! what’s it like being a celebrity?
I did all that, change the switch, changed everything and the window wont go up still
Great
I usually tape the window up. But great video nonetheless
yep, keeps it from falling, and on the track.
haha i just did that just now
This is what's happening with my van. But I cant do this. It will frustrate me so bad.
the regulator was replaced but the window goes down but won't come back up. Help
Recheck it, it's off track.
I changed the power window regulator on my 2013 Chevy Cruze, and it was just about the same exact job as in this video. But I forgot to plug in the motor so I went through the panel removal and replacement twice. Whoops.
Cut the cable until the glass moves down first so you don't have to remove the 10mm.. from inside the door..

WHAT ABOUT A 2000 FORD MUSTANG ?
Cool
Is this a honda accord?
Windows.exe is not responding.

5:20 "Once you've got the glass loose it just slides right out." *glass hits against the the edge of the window frame almost shattering it*
Wow, I just sold my Honda Accord for a Trailblazer then I got this problem with the trailblazer.
I need to do this, so annoying!
