Would be amazing to one day see those TFW tram trains eventually running down from Cathays to St Mary Street/Westgate Street, like Metrolink does. It’s not part of the current plan but there’s been some aspirational proposals to run the trams through the city centre in some of the design docs they’ve released. A future phase 2 once the Bay lines are completed?
It wouldn't make a great deal of sense to have heavy rail valley services diverted to tramway routes anywhere north of central, I do think though that Westgate street would make a perfect tramway corridor for future tram services from Penarth & Ferry road via a crossing over the Taff estuary mirroring the bay link road to North road & Caerphilly Road
@@WalesRails They wouldn’t necessarily need to go the whole way to the end of the valleys, you could have services running down Westgate/St Mary’s St that terminate at Pontypridd or Radyr, maybe using the bay platform that was installed a few years ago for the former.
I would like to go on the Manchester Metrolink. Never been to Manchester in my life.
Neither had I until I visited recently, lovely city!
It certainly is 😊
