I lived in San Pedro for 2 years! Caye Caulker For a few Months! From 2019-2021. The Boat ride is so nice ! The ocean is so beautiful. The Carts Are Fun to drive! I loved that means of Transportation. Living There and Vacationing are totally different experiences! I am a woman of color! which was different because not too many Black women travel and live aboard alone! The best thing I could have ever done!! Belize will always live in my Heart, Soul & Spirit.....
Thank you for sharing! I hope your comment encourages more ppl to visit Belize. Belize has a special place in our hearts and it only took several days. Two years would be AMAZING 🤩
My husband and I went in February and loved it. We are most definitely going back next yr. Belize was one of our favorite vacation spots thus far. We took the ferry to San Pedro and the ride wasn't bad I enjoyed it but next time we will take the plane just because we want to get to our destination soon as possible after the long plane ride there and take the ferry back. We ate good there for cheap.. lol.
Belize is one of our favorites too! We loved it so much we kept talking about living there lol. That’s a great idea! We’ll do that too - Get there quickly with a plane and drag our feet leaving with a long boat ride lol
Thanks for the tip about bringing something to covering your hair on the gulf carts. Only bodies with that tip this far. I have locks so it would be a pain getting sand out my hair.
You’re welcome! We would say depending on your priorities - stay in San Pedro for beaches, snorkeling, and island vibes; stay on the mainland (e.g., San Ignacio) for easier access to Mayan ruins and jungle adventures. 🌴
HELLO IM SPO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL, I HAVE PLANS ON MOVING TO BELIZE NEXT YEAR SO IM GOING TO WATCH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOUR VIDEOSSO GET READY FOR THE QUESTIONS💞💞💞
What an informative video. it helped me check off some things off my research list. I'm new to your channel and of course I had to subscribe. My husband and I love to travel. You are a travel nurse. very nice. I am a nurse also. What is your specialty? Time to explore travel nursing.
Thanks for the expression of the lows…we are getting our moorings boat out of charter next year. Keep going back and forth on paying the price of Just Cats or piece mealing it ourselves. You helped to make the decision. I feel your downsizing pain. We moved into our guest home to downsize before moving on the boat and see what I really need. We were bursting at the seems at first. I can’t believe what little “stuff” I need and how freeing it has been. The first year was tough though. Love your journey and has helped us. Hope to see you on the water some day
X'tan Ha "The Waterfront" Resort. Absolutely pleased with it. We dined mostly off resort so we can't speak fully to what the experience would be if we spent our entire day on site dining wise, but they offer great service, activities, food, waterfront experience. We would recommend 💯
"Ambergris GOLF CART Rental" 501 600-9999 billyharmouch@gmail.com They're on Facebook too. Be sure to do some research first before choosing. There are a lot of companies out there. This one was nearest the baggage claim when we landed in San Pedro and spotted us. It was convenient because we could drive directly to our hotel from the airport and drop the golf cart off right near the airport instead of having to take a cab somewhere else. Hope this helps! Let us know how they treated you and of course how your trip was!! Have a blast!
The hotel is X'tan Ha Waterfront and the bnb is Hillside- river front hoome @ River Hill here's the link www.airbnb.com/rooms/823756837753711392?source_impression_id=p3_1708144710_HHULzMtVpx1KMjVS
To go to the lodges, where they provide their own transpo that seems to be quite overpriced. Do you think it’s safe to try taxis or driving in the jungle regions or is it best to just swallow it?
If you’re in Ambergris Caye you can rent golf cart rentals for a decent price. In our experience taxis are totally safe but they can be quite pricey and the cost adds up quickly. If you’re on the mainland you’ll likely need to rent or do taxis. Check to see if where you’re staying offers taxi contact info. Roads are well maintained so if you decided to rent it’s possible to drive.
Hello.. planning to visit Belize for the first time ..if i stay in Air bnb in San Pedro, how do i get to the Mayan ruins ? Or should i stay on mainland Belize?
Great question! Belize offers two main types of experiences: the beautiful islands like San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, known for beaches and snorkeling, and the mainland, which is ideal for cultural and nature-based adventures, including the Mayan ruins. If the ruins are your top priority, spend a few days on the mainland first, then transfer to San Pedro for the island experience. If beach and snorkeling are your priority, base yourself in San Pedro and book a day trip to the ruins via ferry or flight. You can stay in San Ignacio (Mainland) for easy access to major ruins like Xunantunich, Caracol, and ATM Cave. Spend a few days exploring the ruins, then transfer to San Pedro for beach relaxation. Vice versa. Hope this helps!

you guys are a Magnificent couple, (I don't know you but felt love for you right away) never forget what you appreciate about each other. I wanted to know if you can have a dollar exchange before the trip?
Thank you for your kind words! ☺️ You can exchange before your trip but it could be more cost effective to use the exchange options available once you land. Most banks in Belize will exchange USD for BZD. There are also currency exchange offices throughout, especially in San Pedro. You can check with your hotel to see if they offer currency exchange services, too. Of course, there are ATMs in Belize that allow you to withdraw BZD directly - just be mindful of any bank fees. You'll also have the chance to exchange currency at the airport when you land. USD is generally accepted across Belize. Hope this helps!

What is the name of the hotel you stayed at on the beach in San Pedro and were you pleased with the property besides the sargassum issue?
