They are too lazy to put the carts away. They also could just roll off some point and hit a vehicle and they are blamed for leaving them in the wrong spot. I know someone who did carts before quitting the job at a grocery store and it wasn't fun for him to grab them scattered all over the lot. And as you said, they get a few more footsteps for exercise. every calorie burned adds up. like a penny found is a penny earned. A calorie burned is less weight earned in return as well. Also I have seen carts carried to a bus stop outside the lots which is even worse. They are going to carry them without a cart once on a bus, so why push the cart that far as well? That also makes no sense to me. I still carry my stuff to the bus stop without a cart.

JEFF, it sounds like you might have a bad wheel on that cart of yours. Maybe that’s why everybody else just left them laying out there
