We are responsible for coming up with the concept and its execution. The issue is that ANY thing we do first has to be approved. We usually present to our manager, known as Creative Director. Once they are happy, we would present to the Brand Manager/Director. Only once thet are happy can we present to the client. There is usually a BUNCH of people who need to approve it on their side. Europeans generally and Belgians in particular have contempt for Americans in general and the American working class specifically. Having spent considerable time there I can assure you that bias exists.
So, this decision was made to move on this was made at the international level. IN/BEV couldn't care less about what Americans think about this campaign. It helps their PC score, sticks a thumb in the eye of the American working class and allows this multinational conglomerate heads to confirm their smugness and superiority. They don't care. Look, I have 18 years of agency experience as a copywriter. Copywriters usually work with an art director to form the creative team. We are responsible for coming up with the concept and its execution.
The issue is that ANY thing we do first has to be approved. We usually present to our manager, known as Creative Director. Once they are happy, we would present to the Brand Manager/Director. Only once thet are happy can we present to the client. There is usually a BUNCH of people who need to approve it on their side.
Only once EVERYONE has approved something can we go ahead and start production.
So, if they want to appoint blame or punish anyone, it would have to a huge group of people. Not just one exec.
