This is one of the first college games I ever watched as a kid and it stuck with me afterwards. Classic game.

And 2007 college football season was probably the greatest ever. I feel like football in general peaked in the mid to late 2000’s. It’s still always been good and is good now but if there’s a peak then it’s def that time period.
Not as many as 2007 though lol
@@telamon1071 Well said
@@telamon1071 you guys are probably young. While I agree with the sentiment that college football is always good I would disagree with saying any era is the best. I understand that it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, however I just think that like most things; there is no best. Because it's just impossible to compare eras without it becoming totally objective.
I am and old codger and was in college in the mid nineties and watched Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson Jake Plummer (yes Jake Plummer was actually awesome at Arizona Stats my alma mater bias showing through), Kordell Stewart was pretty awesome at QB, Charlie Ward Florida State squad was incredibly fun to watch. The Hurricanes era when the were cementing the legacy to be called simply: "The U." Florida Gators with Danny Weurfel throwing for 5000 yards in a season. (He didn't really throw 5k but he snatched the Heisman trophy). 1990's Florida State probably had the best decade in the last 60 years. I have to agree with your 2007 comment unless it's usurped by 1990. Check out 1990 Colorado Buffaloes Darian Hagan QB Eric Bienemy JJ Flannigan HB's. Running the triple option, but using the Power I rather than the wishbone. Florida State was snake bitten with the Buffalo Bills curse, would have won 4 National Championships if it weren't for missing two "WIDE RIGHT! WIDE RIGHT!" field goals HOF level defense (Buffaloes 90's)
But yeah check out how the 1990 season went absolutely bonkers and ended with TWO National Champions.
Good grief Texas fans gotta relive this again 😂

I'm from Dallas I've been watching Michael Crabtree since he went to Carter High School in Oak Cliff I knew he was going to the NFL then he's been this way since I was a freshman in High School I be so proud to see dudes from my city make it to the NFL or the NBA or MLB or any major sports team I feel like I won too

The TTU kicker story was crazy 😂
RIP Mike Leach - The Pirate, The Legend, The Guru.
Greatest regular season game I've ever seen and I'm a texas fan. I was 11 years old and I was freaking crushed man. Michael Crabtree, Graham Harrell, and Mike leach. I'll never forget those bastards
One of the best games I've ever seen, was a kid when this game came out, very emotional, man I miss this Tech team
2008 was arguably the best year of Big 12 football ever. Ever week was a huge game and they were all dramatic.
“When you match me up with a sorry receiver like Crabtree”
Classic
Well that corner is not Richard Sherman. lol
GO HAWKS!
texas still should have played Florida in the 2008 bcs championship game
The "Crabtree game" but really it was Daniel Charbonnet's interception that was the ultimate highlight of this game. It was a great team effort all around and one that I was lucky enough to experience. I'll never forget this game.
Such an underrated player.. some People only refer to him as a “sorry receiver” but fail to realize his true impact to teams he played on.
Lol Sherman isn't that influential. Only time I've heard anyone regret to him as a sorry receiver. I get it, though. Good hyperbole is a great replacement for silence, when you just have to talk.
Absolutely no one refers to him as that.
@LTrain45 45 I don’t just SOME people unfortunately refer to that 😕
Man I wish TTU would play like this again
Justin Tucker, one of the greatest kickers in NFL history, was a punter only in this game. Crazy.
crazy how the punter ended up being the best player out of everyone lol

The great brent musberger
Iconic. Every time he said it
Harrell looks a bit like Mahomes in some of those throws. He’d be a first round pick nowadays.
Fun fact. Harrell and Mahomes have the same number of Super Bowl rings! (For now haha)
Thought the say way years ago about colt brennan, Graham Harrell ... ohhh how they were light years ahead
@Rowdy Jr He won one with Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV. He was Rodgers backup in 2011 and 2012.
Mahomes played in the same system as Harrell in College as well
I've waited a while for the HQ video/full highlights of this game haha! Thank you so much!!
Miss Texas being the big dawgs , when i saw this live my heart dropped , LongHorns should of won it all that year.
Yeah, we beat OU that year too 45-35
The greatest college football game I ever seen
Besides 2013 iron bowl and this Texas team should have played Florida in the national title game
This and 2006 rose bowl 👌🏽

Sophomore for me. Loved college and nfl football back then. Still do. Just felt different.
Video has Crabtree in the description but this game was about Mike Leach. Rest in Peace to a great coach
With Texas leading the game late into the fourth quarter I go to my locker grab two packs of smokes and walk back into the dayroom saying..." I got two packs on Texas Tech".. well I got me a taker on the bet and Crabtree won the bet for me with his late heroic touchdown... one of my better days while incarcerated

Back when Saturday night football was interesting 😔
This game will always be a fond memory. I was working the family farm, in Hart, in 2008. We were in the middle of harvest, so we all had our radios tuned into the play-by-play. The CB chatter betwixt my uncle, nephew, and grandfather was spectacular and was probably the most I ever heard my grandfather talk within 3 hours. Texas scored, right as we quit cutting and were getting into our pickups. We felt accomplished by our yield for the day, but still felt defeated after such an exciting game. However, my grandmother had the game on tv, and as my grandfather and I walked through the front door, we heard the crowd go nuts. I've never seen a 75 year old man move so quick. He actually left his hat spinning in mid-air. Pappy will be missed.
I love that crabtree touchdown

One of the best college football games ever!! Top 5 for me
Besides 2010 and 2013 iron bowl and last years iron bowl and Michigan Ohio st 2006 the best
Been waiting for this game!
The first game I went to in Lubbock. Just happened to be there with some friends. So amazing, had to transfer after that.
Oh I remember this season and this game in particular, it was upset after upset week after week it was a new number one team every week. It was a domino effect every single week it started with #5 Michigan losing and it continued
Hey dude it was the previous season 2007 where there was upset after upset every week and #5 Michigan lost to Appalachian State I know this because I am a Kansas fan because I live in Kansas and 2007 was KU's best football season in school history
Williams played so well!
I like that lately you've been showing select NCAA FB games that contain some of today's current stars or guys who just recently retired.
Also...Gawd I love hearing Brent Musberger even if he can be a lecherous old gamberl.

Nothing will be better than ESPN College Football in the 2000s
I wish ESPN Classic was still a thing and they kept playing modern classics instead of Michigan vs Minnesota from 1973.
Same I miss it I love when sec network plays old auburn tigers and Florida gators classics and I rooted for Texas in 2008 and 2009
Still waiting for Texas Tech to be good again

That weird year with the three way tie in the Big 12. Texas Tech beat Texas, who beat Oklahoma, who beat Texas Tech and those were each team's only conference losses.
Texas got robbed of a National championship that year smh
@@Atx512fool Naw-y’all lost to TT who got absolutely obliterated by OU the following week. OU got better as the season went along. Should’ve beat Florida but Demarco Murray being injured was a huge factor
@@TheKBmethod and Texas didn’t? OU had the luxury of playing tech at home. No question texas throttles tech that year if it’s played in austin. And Texas completely handled OU in a neutral field. In fact, both teams that played in the big 12 championship lost to texas by double digits. The only reason OU got it is because of the media’s obsession with Bob Stoops at the time. Texas then beat them for the 4th time in 5 years in 2009, truly showing that the better team was left out
@@TheKBmethod I'm a Red Raider but the Longhorns got screwed by the tiebreaker. Second time in 2008 in sports I saw a horrible tiebreaker come into play. Nastia Liukin got screwed in Beijing that year too.
I remember the end of that game very well with the Crabtree catch. I was a high school junior at the time.
This game reminds me of the A's-Royals game in Moneyball where Leach and co. (the A's in this case) have a sizable lead against Texas (the Royals), the game is nearly lost, only for Leach and co. to come back and win at the very end. It makes it fitting that Michael Lewis was interviewed in the 60 Minutes segment about Leach and made reference to Moneyball.
This was the last time Texas Tech beat Texas in Lubbock.
Fun fact: my half-siblings and their spouses are Texas Tech alums.
This game broke my heart.
I'm not a college football fan in the slightest but that Crabtree catch is iconic and will stick in my memory forever. I distinctly remember seeing that highlight over and over on Sportscenter for a long time lol.
It’s crazy Brent is calling Raiders games now I miss when he call big College football games like Wisconsin vs Michigan State. Overall this is my favorite game of the series
@Keith Cousins 10/22 and they face each other again in the BIG 10 Championship
What in the actual fuck?

@LTrain45 45 yeah, that was 07. Mizzou was also excellent in 07 and carried that into 08. They were the Big XII North’s sacrificial lamb to the Oklahoma/Sam Bradford Death Star that scored 60+ points in each of their last 5 games, before losing to Florida for the national title.
Leach has said in his book that if he could go back and do it again, he would have called more 4 Vert in this game.
"When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, thats the result youre going to get. Dont you ever talk about me." - Richard Sherman
Crabtree was only used correctly with the raiders. Those fades to the corner from Carr where unstoppable.
Fun fact: This is the last time tech beat Texas in Lubbock.
Not really a fun fact, Texas is supposed to be a powerhouse while Texas tech was/is a mid tier big 12 school that got notoriety from a running a elite spread offense and getting in shootouts with better teams. So that stat is not surprising at all actually. What’s more surprising is that Kansas loss…
@@Lionb95 Firstly I made that comment before last season when to shit, Secondly tech fans love to bring this game up because it ruined Texas changes at a National Championship so I like to bring up the fact that they haven't beaten us in their own stadium since this game and Thirdly you're right Texas should be a Powerhouse but we haven't been for the last 12 seasons, even with Texas being down we still managed to win 11 out of the last 13 meetings between the 2 schools including 6 straight wins in Lubbock.
@@kodylangham that’s fair. But Texas should take care of the lower tier teams. I think the longhorns problem over the last 12 years is boosters and donors with money trying to have a say in what goes down in the football operations side, which naturally creates a rift. Hopefully with NIL that goes away. Sark just needs time , they need to be patient. I think you see problems with A&M and the money they are throwing around as well. Seems like Texas is doing it in a smarter way.
@Detroithuh You can't just point to one thing and say that's THE reason why Texas has been bad, while I do think the boosters have caused problems (not as much as people say they have), there have been multiple problems with this team, whether it be Mack Brown deciding to go away from recruiting Players with grit who came to Texas with the mindset of "I'm playing Football for the team with the biggest brand in College Football, it's time for me to prove myself." and naturally started getting more guys who had the mindset of "I'm at the University of Texas, I've made it.", or Coach Brown in his last couple of recruiting classes putting more of an emphasis on Skill players and DB's as opposed to Offensive and Defensive linemen (something that unfortunately continued through the Charlie Strong and Tom Herman eras), or poor coaching hires that then lead to coaches being fired after a few years. This fall will be the first time that any of our defensive players will have play under the same Defensive Coordinator for more than 1 season.
@@kodylangham pretty crazy stat about the DC. And yea front 7 and O line should always be number 1 priority. Especially when they are in the best area in the country for recruits. I was told that Mac brown was more of a “GM “ the last few years.. don’t know how true it is but was told it was very Laissez-faire. Will be interesting to see them in the big games this year and how their offense is run in the second year of Sark. Would think that Ewers has to start.
Charbonnet was going crazyyy👌🏾
The sneaky play that cost Texas was failing to stop the swing pass on 2nd down from gaining a first down on 2nd and 2. Forcing Tech to burn their last timeout there would have been huge
UT fans really hate this video
Raider!!!! Power!!!
Ik Texas tech a pass heavy offense but how did graham Harrell not get drafted? His stats and on field production says he could of easily been a starting QB in the NFL
You want to piss off a Texas fan just bring up this game😂
Who’dve thought we’d be longing for the BCS
Michael Crabtree was a great college receiver who failed to live up to the hype in the league (even though he wasn’t a bust).
What are you talking about?
Crabtree had some good seasons in nfl and definitely no bust. Was very close to being best receiver on a super bowl team when the 49ers lost to Ravens
Can you upload OU vs Texas Tech 2008?
I was in 8th grade holy shit, I still wish colt mccoy would’ve got a national championship but he got injured early in that game
He shouldn’t have been in a National Title game in the first place, but as a Nebraska fan who believes in consistent clock operation, I am biased.
