hey you made it through 2020! You made my day repeatedly! you've got the traction going Amazing stuff! Never tired of these. ! Make more content like this.
Aaah!!! Thank you for this ID!!! I got that and I didn’t know that it was a Pilea!!! Thank you for sharing!!! ♥️
My pleasure! I'm glad it helped!
My first time watching your channel. You are a fun lady! I just subscribed. My pilea cadierei "Aluminum" is still a baby, yet it's super leggy under a grow light. Well, time will tell! Thanks for being so down to earth!
Thank you Vicki! I really appreciate that. Welcome! 😊
ASPCA site says cadierei is NON toxic. wiki. says native to china and vietnam. thanks for good care tips. your plant is a beautiful specimen…
Thanks for the research!
If you're not using a Mic, the audio came out pretty well! Thanks for sharing, as it has been hard finding a decently produced video about this plant.
Keep it up!
Thank you so much! I'm constantly working on the audio so I especially appreciate that! Thanks!
Very informative video dear thanks for sharing, stay connected
I love that you called them boogers, those flies are booger incarnate certainly 🤣💖
Hahaha! Thanks for appreciating my vernacular. I think the word "booger" is appropriate in many contexts ;D
Just found your channel. It’s great just subscribed 👍
Thank you!
Hi :) Thank for the video. I am curious about the plants in the background. Do use any artificial light on them, or is the window light strong enough? They are beautiful, but it doesn’t look overly bright in the room.
Hi, this is a South facing window so it does get a lot of daylight. It may seem dark because I'm using lights to highlight what I'm filming and on camera it is very back lit.
I do use grow lights in more darker corners of my home. 😊
This plant is NOT toxic to dogs, cats, and horses according to the ASPCA. However, my cat just keeps eating it and one time she vomitted (probably because she had empty stomach and ate alot of it). It is very hard for me to display this plant in a place I can see it without putting it in a greenhouse or cover it in a glass type thing.
Beautiful sharing👍👍 stay safe
Thank you!
before I knew my plant was an aluminum it dropped several leaves because of incorrect sun exposure. It still has spots with leaves on it but very long, barren stems below. Should I just take the leafy parts and take propagations of them or is there another way to make it bushy again?
What I personally did was take cuttings and propagated them back into the plant. If you prune it, you may get a bushier effect. But you risk it being bare for a while. Up to you on what you feel confident doing.
Is this toxic to fish? I bought it at a fish store in the aquarium. As I'm learning about this plant I found it will die after several weeks under water.
Oml, your pilea looks so good!
Ive been trying to grow mine but I keep getting black/brown leaf tips that recede all the way back to the stems :x I hardly water it and the roots are fine, have you had this happen to you?
I haven't, without a visual sounds like some type of fungus or rot. 😔 these can be sensitive to it.
Oh dear :< I'm unsure what it is. The roots all seem fine, maybe it's a fungus. Neem oil the recuse! Thank you though ❤
I wish I could be helpful, best of luck! Hope you fix it 😊
Good plant ,
I accidentally left my new baby in my car yesterday while I was carrying my human sleeping baby into the house😩😭 it wilted from the heat and sun! I transplanted her and fed and watered her. There are still stems that are nice and strong and sturdy! Should I just leave her be and see how she does?? Or should I print the badly wilted leaves?? They look almost dead 😭
Give it some time. The wilted leaves might just fall off but the strong stems should shoot out some new growth soon. It will tell you what it needs, it's a moody plant but fairly sturdy
I grew a pilea from a cutting buy the leaves ate much lighter green than usual. Can u help ?
More information, please? Same lighting as mother plant? Fertilizing? Could be that the plant is still maturing and will darken with time and ample light. 🤷🏻♀️ my first troubleshoot would be light, then nutrients.
Thank you x
@@AmandaBexim I think light pale leaves are from too much sun
Hi,
Can you help my aluminum plant will not grow at all. I purchased it as a rooted cutting and had it in a window but noticed the leaves were burning, so I moved it out of direct sunlight. Anything else I can do to help this little guy? Lol
I have mine under a grow light. Seems to like the consistency. They have thinner leaves so probably appreciate the shade. Make sure it isn't in a pot too big or too small. They don't like being too thirsty.
I'm sorry I can help tons without knowing it's ambient conditions 😔. I hope it survives and flourishes 🤎
@@plantposey thank you for your response. My grow light will be here tomorrow. Hopefully that does the trick. Thanks again 🤞🏽
I hope so too! 🙏
kuh deer ree eye
They are non-toxic according to the ASPCA lol
Well hey that's good news!
My plant’s lower leaves are turning black. Help!
Oh no! How is the drainage on your soil? Are you getting soggy spots in the soil?
I don’t see any. I’m new at gardening. I thought it got cold in the winter, so I moved it back. It’s still sick. I think I used soil for succulents, fast drain. Should I change the soil?
@maureenoconnor6413 it would depend on how often you water it, climate...and a few other things. You may want to ensure it's getting nutrients as well. Some worm castings make a really nice nutrient boost that's safe and gentle. My guess is a water flow issue. But hard to be sure without seeing all of the environmental factors 😔
How do you propagate it?
I've had success propagating from node. I'd suggest sphagnum or leca. Water alone tended to rot on me.
500th sub 🥳 love your channel!
Omg thank you! Yay! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello mandie nice to meet you
I'm sorry but aluminum plants are non toxic to cats and dogs. They're on the SPCA website as a safe plant for your animals and as far as I know all Pilea are non toxic
Why are you sorry!? That's good news! 👍🏼
Hello jessica
Hi need some help. Right now temperatures in my area is as low as 13°c at night and 19 during the day. How can I save my aluminum plant?
Hello :). Without using a heating or cooling device try keeping it indoors in a room that has the most consistent temperature. Usually they will be happy in a room that humans are comfortable in.
@@plantposey thank you 😊
