- Back in the days of old, the MiG-15 and MiG-15 Bis used to be the absolute top tier in War Thunder, being the very highest aircraft you could get in the game. Today, we're going on a trip down memory lane to re-live the glory days of when MiGs and Sabres ruled the skies and the only thing between a good game and a bad game was pilot skill, not who shot a missile first.

I don't think new players understand just how much it disrupted the meta at top tier when it was changed 😂
I remember we used to HAAAATTEE mixed battles which only happened when someone had a mixed nation party and we would all shit on them for it.
I can't imagine historical battles these days... I'd like to think its more doable these days with more players

Loved that last match.. Just hearing you laugh bought back good memories.. I was only thinking the other day.. I miss seeing biplane and early WWII fighters.. These days everyone is flying jets all the time.. same with tanks.. I remember when the Russian Catalina was king of the skies.. and you could crash-land it somewhere and just shoot down everything that tried attacking it..
So many fond memories of just doing crazy stuff in the early days. You don't really see that too much now!

You have to embrace the 7 min fuel load to unlock the full MiG-15 potential.
On the "smaller" maps like Korea back in the day, for sure. Not risking it these days with how long the travel time is 😂

Yeah it's been a fairly chaotic few years - good though. Spent a lot of time creating IRL car content on a channel called The Back Roads which is still going. Now going to try and do both this channel and that which should be good fun! It's been great making content like this again.

Vampire wise, your turn time is your best friend in that aircraft. You're better off tricking players into dogfighting with you at lower altitudes
Hey its been awhile. whats the update on the battlegroups gamemode you were working on?
It was really close to completion about two years ago and then Gaijin removed a load of assets we used from the CDK so the map wouldn't load and would crash constantly. It's salvageable but we've just not had the time to sit down and sort it yet

Me: yeah there's a reason for that mate the Russian buggers nicked it off us. Well technically we sold them The blueprint and the manufacturing rights for the Rolls Royce Nene engine under the promise they wouldn't put it in a military aircraft. They agree to it and went home. First thing they did was put it in the mig 15 and oh yeah they STILL haven't paid us what they owe

Remember back in the day flying Vampire kill a MIG17 , get a lot of respect from enemy team. cuz is noway kill mig17 player that time with a shitty Vampire. good old time

The Mig-15 was a bit of a dog compared to the Mig-15bis.
The Mig was in many ways the top dog, unless you had a poor connection, as half your magazine would just sparkly off the enemy sabres 😂
The F86F-2 with the extremely fast firing 4 guns was also the king in many ways, especially before the German Sabre was introduced. Getting to top teir then was fun, as the top teir gameplay took skill and was really fun, feel the new fun sweet spot is around BR 10, Top teir currently has little appeal to me, shooting missiles across the map and fooling around with radar settings feels a little anti climating and brain dead to me, hope they will work on making it more fun 😅
The Bis was just a joy to fly, but all things considered, the standard MiG-15 isn't anything to shake a stick at!
