- Decided to go through the demo again in my new laptop. My main goal was to at least go for no damage as a minimum. I did use FastBarrier (name could be wrong) to at least give me a bit of breathing room. Rank S is nice, but I rather not push my luck too much trying to go for it. Just wanted to make sure I'm not standing around waiting for the right chips to show up (I keep at least one PA in my folder available, but I don't try to go for it). I've already done an S rank battle against Riffman Ex so I just settled with the best I can manage here (granted that video I used the Quick memento). Main difference was that I was in normal form since I didn't unlock quick memento yet. Then again, I feel I was really pushing my luck back when I fought him with quick. Worth mentioning that a good majority of the fights here I was going in with full synchro. I'm kind of bad at countering attacks.
Gutsman isn't exactly worth talking about. He kind of suffers a bit from being the first boss.
Going to speak about both Raven fights here. I got pretty lucky in the first fight since a lot of my attempts get ruined if he keeps vanishing from the battle field. Have mixed feelings about his ex form. I did skip on going for S rank here. That fight did made me figure out how to get some use out of the TopSpin chips. I wasn't too sure if I could use another TopSpin if I already had one active. Don't really have any quick ways to take him out.
Just talking about the first Riffman fight here. Think I got pretty lucky with some of my chip drops at that point. Was running a combination of R and J coded chips. ReaperBolts and BackSticks had both those codes available (hopefully I got the chip names right). Just had to be mindful about that slow moving electricity attack.
I did Cactusman already, but decided to see what I can do against him in normal form. Did this after the Riffman battle. Used similar coded chips to Riffman's fight. Added MagBombs since the Megabuster can't go through his cacti. Generally don't like chips that involve throwing something, but this fight made me experiment with them. Was also using MchnSwrd to help out with damage.
Set up an S and L coded folder for Ghostman. Didn't really give him a chance to show it, but his attacks reference Quickman. The main thing I wasted here was that ElecSwrd. If my shmup runs are any indication, my reflexes aren't really that great when I attempted to hit him with that.
Didn't really give Pirateman much of a chance. Just zapped him with electricity. FastBarrier helped out with his shark attack. Kind of the main mistake I could afford here.

This looks so good... You could fit one of these battles into any of the original games seamlessly. I'm very excited for this.

My biggest gripe with Chrono X is what is the point of remaking the entire engine from scratch if all you are going to do is remake the same chips from MMBN6 anyway. I wish they would add some new ideas.
If they overhaul the chips too much players will have to relearn the game basically. So yeah, I don't mind the similar chips too much. Newer chips would be preferred maybe 75% old plus 25% new. But making it all new can be confusing. My issue is that some of the bgm don't sound too "mmbn". But I guess copyright issues can arise if they make it too similar to the older ones.

The music is a pretty big step down from BN6. It's still really good for what it is.
Yeah, BN6 has the best boss theme of the saga.
I hate how they’re all humanoid. Not very creative. The battles look fun though
The CX community hated the design of most of the non-humanoid Navis.
There's a non-humanoid navi you can find in one of the comps, so it clearly has more to do with the fact that we only saw a tiny portion of the game
That aside, I wouldn't necessarily file Ghostman under humanoid
Most navis are humanoid, with very few exceptions. (Desertman, Pharaohman and Gravityman are some of very few i can think of)
@@Purpylon I would include stuff like flame man, since although he’s bipedal, he doesn’t just look like a guy in a costume.

Whoever made this video was way more interested in making a flashy video of them dunking on these bosses rather than letting the bosses do their thing 🙄 most of the bosses are just constantly stunned and show off none of their attacks
That's the issue with most people uploading footage of Battle Network in general. The videos are never about the bosses, it's about how "good" the players are at the game or whatever OP combo they can pull out of their ass. It's stupid and annoying that no one in the community that isn't a let's player can just let the boss do its thing.

Does CactusMan even have a weakness?
Hitting him with Fire attacks would just cause him to breathe fire. While Aqua attacks just heals him.

The Chrono X demo is pretty solid. I think I recall about two difficulty spikes when I was doing a run for this video, but nothing too terrible after swapping out chips in my folder. I believe the demo does have multiplayer, but I haven't had a chance to try it out. Demo 5.0.1 is still the latest release available so you'll probably go through the story in a short amount of time.
I'd wait for the full release if they ever do release the full version . I think they are on a hiatus atm

Is this game still in development?
According to the developers' twitter, they're still working on it (their last tweet being about a week ago). They've been teasing stuff since the release of this demo.

Yes. Its been under development for quite a while now.
This is just criticism not hate, but these bosses are terrible. You've got a raven who barely attacks a rock and roll guy whose attack patterns are easy to predict, a cactus 🌵, a ghost who is susceptible to all attacks when it should be swords, and a pirate really? There could be more creative originality here and there but hey I'm just nitpicking no need to take it serious
1. The bosses aren't even at their full potential yet, so we can't measure their power now. They are harder than they look.
2. If anything, it would've been better if ALL navi bosses in this game were a counterpart to another MegaMan character.
3. A boss that only took damage from swords would be ridiculous, because their HP would have to be nerfed tremendously to make their fight even slightly fun.
@@drunkenskunkproductionsdsp8094 i agree with 2, aside from pirateman (from megaman and bass and not counting gutsman lol) there is no other megaman robot master counterpart (still waiting for a "axel" navi lol)
hell a neat thing would be to ask the creators of other megaman fangames for their RM's to make as navi's (like super fighting robot / rock force or even rock'n'roll)
