I have an interesting idea for how the Dark MegaMan battle could go. While normally he fights MegaMan by using chips the player has used up to that point in the game, I think it would be more interesting if he instead uses dark variations based on the many forms and bosses from 2-6. Style Changes, Double Souls, Crosses, the Beast Outs... hell even forms Bass Cross MegaMan and Sol Cross MegaMan for the ultimate fanservice if not even further beyond with the Trans Arm and SF MegaMan program from Legend of Network and Operation Shooting Star. Think the Chaos Unisons from BN5, only for every single form he's ever used or obtained across the entire series. The ultimate form of fanservice in a fight that makes it unique from the Dark MegaMan/DS MegaMan fights in BN4 & BN5. To give a few examples for possible attacks.... - Proto Soul and Blues Arm has him use the Step Sword and Z-Saber, the former to reference a favored technique of Blues while the latter is a double nod to Chaud having the chip in the anime as well as ProtoMan.EXE having a lot of clear inspection from Zero. Only the Step Sword is combined with a Dark Sword for the additional range as well as incredible power akin to a Life Sword, while the latter is a 7 hit combo ending with a powerful shockwave, as a nod to Omega Zero's Ranbu technique. Hell the saber could even be pink to make the reference more clear. - Bug Style has him use a combination of Static to create a barrage of tornadoes that are combined with the effects of Bug Curse to inflict mutliple bugs on MegaMan for a period of time. - Roll Soul has him fire a chip breaking Roll Arrow, that breaks all the chips you currently have slotted in. - Sol Cross has him summon three sets of four pillars of light that hit random panels owned by MegaMan that quickly build up damage but doesn't make MegaMan flinch. - Both versions of Bass Cross could have him use some of Bass's most dangerous attacks. Gold has him use the Buster Rake in a way similar to Bass's boss fights before ending with a Vanishing World, while Silver has him use a barrage of Hell's Rolling while charging a Chaos Nightmare. - Hub Style could have DarkMega use both the Dark Sword and Life Sword on each arm, slashing them to form an X shaped slash that deals the combined damage of both blades. I think a fight like this could be the ultimate love letter to the entire Battle Network series and both a really fun and incredibly challenging fight with DarkMega possibly having the most attacks of any boss in a single fight. I feel like for the story required fights he could probably focus on a few Double Souls from BN4-BN5, but rematches with him Alpha and Omega forms could introduce the other Double Souls but give him a post game story secret form that pulls no punches and is exactly what I've stated above.
I do think that if they did this it would be the ultimate fan service and very impressive too but it's quite a complex programming to add that much stuff in one fight furthermore adding new skills and others for a single boss fight and also If they followed what you said it would have been incredibly unfair for the player to fight literally Bass, MegaMan and all the other characters in the series in one fight. I would spend all my time trying to beat it ngl because I always felt like Dark Mega didn't get enough attention both in the game and in the anime where he only appeared for a short while and was then defeated easily.
@@RockmanSlayer00 True... Yeah it would be too much. Maybe not that much but maybe just a chunk of the actual forms from 2-6, maybe two attacks for the returning forms in BN5 like Number and Proto to justify two attacks. Though I can see this as some ultimate bonus fight. Maybe like the required story fight has a few iconic Double Souls (since those are his main game appearances so it makes sense for him to use them also as a nod to Chaos Unisons), rematches with Alpha has some of the Crosses from 6, Omega adds the original set of Style Changes minus Bug and Hub (maybe based on the official combos from the anime like Heat Guts, Aqua Custom, etc), and then some hidden ultimate final challenge that goes off the walls with Bass Cross and Sol Cross, on top of the Beast Outs, as well as Bug Style and Hub Style. Like the final boss of the post game scenario where it's Dark Mega's final stand, I feel like maybe a maximum of let's say 20-25 attacks sounds about reasonable with the 46(?) forms in the entire main series not counting things like the Trans Arm from Legend of Network, Chaos Unisons from BN5, SFMegaMan from Operation Shooting Star, or all the possible combinations of the Style Changes as well as Beast Crosses. Yeah not _every form_ could get represented but a good majority could work and while they could be just be simple recreations of their boss attacks the Double Souls and Crosses are based on from BN1-6 with some of the forms not based on a boss like the style Changes could use some or their exclusive chips while the remaining forms form exclusive to the ultimate fight could have the more complex and powerful forms like the Bass Crosses, since it wouldn't make sense if Bass's attacks weren't incredibly powerful because considering he's usually the ultimate hidden showdown, it just feels right. The same applies to both Bug and Hub Styles since they are the ultimate hidden risk and reward forms of BN2 and BN3 respectively so they also deserve to do something really unique. But yeah looking at my original post, I admit I'm asking for too much but maybe condensing the list to a more manageable amount seems like it would strike a nice balance. Also fun fact this concept was inspired by his Manga counterpart being able to absorb other Navis like Bass and LaserMan to use their powers. Plus I feel like it would only be fitting if in Chrono X, considering the form gimmick with the mementos are based on MegaMan's memories it would only be fitting if the dark mirror used those memories against MegaMan with the formers he's used in the past. While I'm fairly certain he'd fight like past battles where he uses the same chips, I feel like instead focusing on using past forms could be incredibly unique and make for a fun battle. Edit: I also feel like I should probably mention I imagine for all of the elemental forms, they'd still keep their original elemental weaknesses like aqua beating fire, fire beating wood, and so on. While Hub Style is risky because he takes double damage in the form as a nod to the half health downside.
I mean it's still too hard to make that kind of fight on a console like game boy because in the original games you don't keep the cross unsions that you get from the previous games. and even if they made it on PC it wouldn't bring as much money as the console and we all know that capcom is all about money and they won't spend that much resources on a single fight. Chrono X could make something like that as they are making their game on PC and they could tinker with it to make an awesome fight for Dark Mega but will they spend a lot of time on a single fight? maybe they will maybe they won't. nevertheless it would still me awesome if they my something for the anniversity of the game as they literally didn't make anything for the previous 20 years anniversity.
@@RockmanSlayer00 That's also true. But maybe it doesn't have to be something like changing his entire appearance, it could be like the manga version where there are a small few details like Bass's helmet fins or HubStyle's rings. Small stuff that could be overlayed over the sprites like they did in BN6. Also unrelated but I still want to mention this idea, I feel like for a MMBN Legacy Collection where it would include a special mode. Maybe something akin to the X Challenge mode where you face off against a boss rush of different combinations of bosses with all the different chips from across the series and a small handful of forms you can choose to use to take with you.
