- Hey Guys! I got a lot of requests about doing a brief tutorial on this solo, so I decided to prepare a full lesson explaining my solo section. I hope you will find this interesting! Even if he plays slowed down, his tone, feel and timing is perfect. Totally fascinating player.
Of course why play slow wrongly?

Monstrous player. Completely unique right hand approach. This young man is a combination of Holdsworth, Quayle and Govan at their best. Talk about raising the bar.......

Drarian Toemalang Agreed to the extent there is certainly precedent for what he is doing, especially regarding right hand technique. But an incredible player, nonetheless.
@@spb7883 not very special to me i am a bass player and when i play guitar i always alternate with my fingers, its perfect for jazz also because of the warm sound from your flesh or using more your of your nail for a fast run
He also plays classical guitar, so right hand 'approach' is natural regardless the type of guitar.
This guy is the best guitarist alive in my opinion. Hes taking the instrument into the next dimension

I agree… Eric Johnson has been demoted to second place. LOL. Actually, although I am dazzled by Mancuso he’s not my favorite because he’s not melodic enough. Less notes and more melody is more my style. I prefer Eric Clapton, or even Jimi Hendrix. Not because they are technically better but because a lot of their solos become melodies. Mancuso is technically The best I’ve ever seen. But technique is not enough. There is more emotion in, say, a John Mayer solo. But Mancuso is very young… Hopefully he will mature. Once again not technically… But aesthetically. I’m sure most people wouldn’t agree with me but if I could talk to him I would say “slow down“ . But that’s just my two cents.

This young man is one of those 1 in a billion people who you know will utterly transform technical playing in the coming years. I really don't think there is anyone bar Guthrie or perhaps Frank Gambale who can match him in the world right now. Monstrous :-)

Dudeee the way you explain your playing is really helpful! You describe the theory and inspiration behind the solo rather than just telling us what frets you're playing. Please make more lessons like this!
I am a 35 year old guitar passionate, stopping by to send my congratulations to this exceptionally talented young guitar player. Humble enought to: 1) stay home 2) allowing us into his own room. Guitar accomplishment is not at all based on looks, kickass attitude or even expensive gear. On the contrary, focusing on studying theory properly, understanding how this theory has been interpreted with a different approach, sound and tone by some of great precursers of the instrument he mentions are in my opinion atributes that lead to an impecable musician, like Matteo.
È la prima volta che ti sento parlare (oltre che suonare) e ci tenevo a condividere questo pensiero: volevo dirti che l'umiltà che sento nella tua voce ti rende già, nonostante la giovane età e al di là della bravura indiscussa, più grande di tanti "grandi".
C'è bisogno di musicisti come te. Sostanza e niente menate.

The best player in the Universe!!! Without a doubt! I’ve seen them all in may fifty seven years playing professionally, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Matteo reminds me of Alex Hutchings, Tom Quayle and Guthrie Govan. All 3 are killer guitar players! But I think Matteo has all of them beat with his Classical Guitar picking technique and note selection. Through the magic of UA-cam today I get to see thousands of great guitar players in a genres of music that otherwise would not have been seen in the 80's without the internet. Young players today have the tools at their fingertips to take their playing to the highest level their natural born talent and personal drive will take them. Thank you Matteo for posting this great short but valuable lesson. Some young player is out there right now working on this and in 10 years or less we may see someone post something even more incredible than what you have played, if that is humanly possible!
Che fraseggi bellissimi! A prescindere dalla tua grande perizia tecnica, dalla giovane età , dall'uso meraviglioso delle dita al posto del plettro etc. etc. , ci sono due aspetti del tuo modo di suonare che mi affascinano di più 1) la capacità di ideare fraseggi , patterns partendo anche dalle esperienze precedenti di chitarristi illustri riuscendo ad amalgamarli insieme insieme in un discorso solistico personalissimo e originale guidato da un temperamento musicale raffinatissimo; 2) un gusto timbrico del suono della chitarra elegantissimo. Non sono un chitarrista ma grazie a te, amo sempre di più questo strumento. Grazie

Matteo I brought my crystal ball and here is what I see. You have the mind of a dancer ; you're quiet and concentrated but you can move very dynamically, tonic. moving fluently from one to the other technic requesting precision of gestures. Of course you have a great musical sense and culture (clearly you love guitar).I think you use light gauge strings with relatively high volume amp. Your gear is very precisely set up. The good news is the slightest finger-string contact is heard, and the bad one is if you make a mistake, it will be specially spectacular ! If you add to that you worked early and very hard your guitar and the music, included theory in general, then one can start to figure out a bit where you come from.
