Maybe not as many songs as the vocalist before her, but she has plenty left in her career. Great content, lovely voice with range, and focused. Refreshing to listen to her. that's unlikely, given about 9 times out of 10 in the UK a single's first week entry is also it's peak position. also, it was at number 24 in the midweek charts and ended up at number 51 on Sunday - leona will be lucky if it's still in the top 100 this week:(

This is a tradition of singles in the UK. Singles will be premiered a month ahead of the official release date. I don't know why they do it though.
LAQUABI In the UK major label videos premiere before the single release so that the singles debut highly (in the top ten or even #1). Unlike the US, our charts are weighted primarily on sales (digital + physical) and have recently added streaming data. Whereas in the US it can take months for a single to peak on radio and so songs usually debut on radio a month or two before a video release.
So this is after the split with Simon Cowell.
Leona is so underrated
This song is 100% the best out at the moment. The production is amazing - I love the raw, soulful feel and especially how she mixed in vocals into the background to enhance the track. From 3:21 to 3:28 is SO good - just the oh oh oh vocals over piano... And Leona sounds great vocally here, effortlessly hitting F#5s and G5s!

Ilona Takácsová Sorry, but for once I don't agree. Leona is the best female artist that I've heard..... PERIOD, so you'll know where I'm coming from when I say this. She has THE most beautiful voice and vocal skills, so why should she be singing stripped back, old sounding, pop/folk tunes like this? She SHOULD be singing in a style that showcases her vocal talents, and I don't think 'this song does that. The right track, with a unique produced sound, and great hook, would get her way more attention, which is what we all want - Right? If they had actually released tracks like 'Scene of the crime', ''Perfect stranger', 'Un-love me', and 'Alive' (as a debut single) we wouldn't be discussing why she's not at the top where she belongs.

It wasn't really that. I was just a bit bored of the ballads - I wanted more material like Glassheart itself. It was good to see her venture into that genre; I'd love to see her do it again - something different.
I'm glad this offeres something different again.
She's in a better place now mentally, so naturally there's gonna be more energy in her music. But why so many people over these past few years choose to focus on the simple ballad aspect instead of the fact that album didn't get a wide release is beyond me. Given the chance, "Come Alive", "Shake You Up", "Stop The Clocks", "Sugar", and "Glassheart" itself all had potential to be something big, and sadly they became memories of the past.

Leo Official Infinity has grown on me. It's not the best thing Mariah's ever done, but I do enjoy it. I think Fire Under My Feet is better than much of what was on Leona's last two albums so I hope she continues progressing musically.

+Devotedlamb19 The point that I think you people are missing is that we all want to hear as many great tracks as possible from her, and similarly she wants her music to reach as many people as possible. But that AIN'T gonna happen with material like this.
I get the whole 'I am empowered' thing and the lyrics may be great and uplifting, but that's about it. The music sounds way toooooooo basic, and needs more of what compliments her beautiful vocals. I mean...... seriously....... how does this even stack up to her previous stuff. And as for "better than much of what was on her previous 2 albums" - ABSOLUTELY NO WAY !!!!!! 'Alive, Stone hearts and hand grenades, Can't breathe, Happy, I got you, Brave, Come Alive, Un-love me, Trouble, When it hurts, Sugar, Shake you up, Fireflies - all of those are in a TOTALLY different league to FUMF. It's no wonder that this single flopped. Tracks like Here I am, Crying is beautiful, Alive and Un-love me are iconic Leona tracks, the Ballads and mids that her voice was made for, so she should never move away from them. Tracks like Come Alive, Sugar, Brave, and Save myself are brilliant unique new directions she should be going in, not towards simple folk/gospel sounding music seriously lacking in melody, creative arrangement, and a hook. Tracks like I'm you, Wings, Let somebody love you and Yesterday, remind us of what a fantastic RnB voice she has, and there are other musical genre's that would be ideal for her because they all have one thing in common, i.e. interestingly different, well arranged music that allows her to fully use those awesome vocal skills of hers TO THE FULL.
In all honesty, we're all happy that she escaped from SYCO, with her creative freedom intact, but do we really want her to abandon what made her so special in the first place!

eric vssl Americans really don't know how huge Leona is internationally. The number one X Factor artist. Her albums don't do great in the US mainly because they aren't marketed well here. And she did fantastic in her movie last summer Walking on Sunshine.
