I was in an RP server when I played. I collected all the alcohols you could get in the game and set up shop in an empty Tavern in Old Town, Stormwind. I would advertise and got crowds of players to spend money to buy my drinks and people would sit at the tables roleplaying. Amazing times. This was the soundtrack of my life.
Never played an RP server despite playing RP groups all the time around tables.
Was it worth doing?

This is awesome to listen to while doing homework. I'm in an inn somewhere in Azeroth sharpening my skills before heading out to find a rare artifact left behind by an ancient civilization!

3:00 is one of the most... beautiful songs in the whole world, to be honest. Seriously, the people who made the music for WoW deserve medals, grammys, oscars, Nobel prices even!

I love this , when I was bored i always went to Goldshire to buy a beer and sit in a chair and see all folks asking for quests listening this music was really peaceful.

I started at patch 1.8...man,that was so long time ago..i miss the magical first touch of world of warcraft..this sure brings back memories..my first roam on Azeroth,sitting and resting in the tavern aah,gold old times :)..Good job Blzzard,keep it up for Cataclysm!!

That is exactly my situation! Played it for 5 days and then quit because I got addicted, the tavern was indeed the nicest place in the game.

i listen to this while doing homework in my local library. makes me feel like a student from ancient times learning sacred knowledge in some kind of mages school or something. i love it
i remember for a couple a years ago (when i didn't play wow) my brother played this and i thought i seems boring. But then i started as a human and i directly fall in love with all the things: the music, the beautiful places, the cool appearance fantasy of beast,humanoids etc. and yea the roles, classes... I can make this list more longer ;)
I first heard this when I dicovered Goldshire as my dwarf. I was exploring IF when I discovered the tram, one thing led after another and I would up at the Lion's pride inn. I miss how magical WoW seemed back then when I knew nothing as a newbie. Now my dwarf is lvl 81 and I've been all over.
Its a fact, the world of warcraft soundtrack would have been eligible for so many awards, but because its in a game nobody takes it seriously

i play WoW for 5 years now and i dont want to stop!!!
Just listening to this makes me want to go back and play WoW again, the only thing that is stopping me is the death of the game itself. After spending basically 9 months inside of Icecrown Citadel, managing to kill the Lich King on 25M heroic during the last week, really felt like an accomplishment. Now, well, when I used to log in back in December - April, I felt empty inside. The game had lost its appeal, nothing was as fun as it used to be. On top of that, everything is changed. R.I.P Old WoW

Omg I remember .... Old Town's Tavern in Stormwind. Was Roleplaying with a guildmate of mine, and we were just sitting on that big table with the numerous chairs, and having fun over Skype while we were always clicking the next chair and so rotating around the table. Then we had an ingame marriage by a very weird RPing Nightelf priest. 2 month later we met irl and became a couple xD

I can't help but to think of the good memories in this game, and the thought of returning to it. But at the same time I know that if I start to play again, I will probably get bored and stop... I hate that feeling :(

This is not the old game I miss, but the community for sure !!! Just people who enjoyed playing a mmo with others... Adventure had such a delicious taste in this time :)

It was hard tot give up wow for my studies, but sometimes i start a free trial and i play for a week to digg up some old memories xD

when i hear these themes, i imagine myself walking into an inn, then i take a seat and lay my sword next to me and order a whiskey.
Every time I hear this music I think of Conan the Barbarian. There is a piece of music called The Kitchen/The Orgy, at 222 you can hear the influence. I tried to link it here to no avail.
Go into a human or forsaken tavern and put "headphone mode" on.
In between songs you can hear a bunch of people talking and someone going up/down the stairs.Not quite sure what theyre saying, but its really cool the first time i hear it.

I like this one so much because it reminds me of all the years i spent waiting for the mid summer fire festival!
Why is it that every time I leave this game, and I curse it for its seemingly lack of inventiveness and originality, I always find my way to these soundtracks and always, without fail, reminisce for hours about times spent and adventures had on this fantastic game?

@MMarc14 it may not be magical but it will always hold a special place in your heart as a certain fondness for azeroth can never go away. once you have immersed yourself in the game, the patch can only make it better. its like becoming a completely different person which is exactly what some people in this world need to alleviate the effects of stress like my good self :)

World Of Warcraft - yes, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - no... It's lost that feeling that I used to first have. A magical feeling of running around Dun Morough or Loch Modan or Elwynn Forest. I'll never have that feeling again and thats sad :(
I still remember the good olde days, when we ran deadmines and I was the priest insulting the tank for noobish behaviour ...but yet we ran with the same group till I have level 60. It's this I want, not resilience or haste rating. Why can't you understand blizz!?

This is bringing back good memories cause its was in the time you first played the game. And every newbie says that wow is magical even these days, but that is only because the first touch with the game is magical. Now you know the game it's not special anymore because you already have experienced it. That is why everything is getting worse after a new patch it's not that ''magical'' wow that you once experienced.
reminds me of levelling my first character, a human priest. I had a best friend that I would always level with, and when we decided we had enough we would hearthstone back to the lions pride inn, and sit or dance by the fire. good times ^_^
For all who don't know how to find the songs just download a mpq scanner which scans through the .mpq files in the wow directory and gives u the songs etc just copy then paste it in game and woila!
@DurtyHarrys i quit WoW about a year ago as well, and i still listen to their music it's unlike any other i've experienced very original and moving

it was, i really truly loved the game, even to where i was doing dailies everday... but now that i dont play it anymore. i dont worry about stupid things like. man i hope i break this arena rating, or down this boss. and even man i hope i dont get nerfed this patch ( i played a warrior since 05). it was great and all, but my quality of life is much better now without it, and you know its bad when your just sittin around in ironforge inspecting people cause your bored playing a game!! been there.

When I played WoW, I remember that the music was quite possibly my most favorite part about it.
Anyway, I agree with alot of you, WoW kindof lost it's magic for me after TBC was released. The original game was pure and there was so much to do. Even the login screen music was better IMO.
