With all the crap going on in our country I think it is very cool that you showed the flag and the National Anthem before the Race started! So glad our beloved drag racing still has standards and doesn't take a knee! Kudos to you guys!

Cody M it was only a 8 car field rarely do you get to see side by side 50s in RVW. Everyone knows they were going to swing for the fences. There’s no loser in that race. We just all hoped the track would handle it.

You called these "Doorslammers." No. These are ProMods
Pro mod is a sanctioning body specific class of cars made to that specific rule set, these cars would be illegal in pro mod there for they’re not pro mods, then the easiest and most relatable name would be door slammers, or what they actually are radial cars, if you want to get technical maybe a pro mod style door slammer set up for radials in a way that would make the car illegal in nearly every other class, the shadow has raced pro mod and then swapped back to radial again but not without massive modifications ( edit you could also call them outlaw pro mods I spose ) some people will get major but hurt over that though lol
@@souqmadiq4835 You are saying these cars would pass the required door-slammers magnet test? I have participated in 10-12 events in the past three years. I was required to have a steel-roof and quarters. The only thing allowed, that was not steel, were the front-end and trunk-lid. I purpose, the NHRA is trying to jump on board the growing fans of No-Prep and Street Outlaws the sleaziest,...I mean the easiest way possible. These are the same cars I watched earlier in the week as Pro Stocks. Believe me when I say this. It is something not lost on the fans of no-prep and Street Outlaws.
@@stevesolo16 there a plenty of composite body panelled doorslammer classes, I can’t say I’ve raced a doorslammer at all unfortunately but where I live our penultimate door car class is called top doorslammer, I guess my point is to be a pro mod it has to be pro mod legal because the things that define a pro mod are only in place in that one category. Honestly I don’t care what people call what I mean we have people calling backhalfs from the firewall with composite body panels street cars
The "door-slammers" was a way for the garage/home mechanic to go racing so "The Haves and Have Nots," had a fairly level playing field. The NHRA, as of late, has been dying. They made it so only BIG money teams could compete. The NHRA's originated so everybody could have a chance at victory. Unfortunately, their core fan got soured by their about-face when they followed the money. The rules restrictions got ridiculous and are another reason so many are put off.
@@stevesolo16 I’m too too familiar with your lingo but I think I get the point, I agree about nhra dropping the ball on that one although I’m not bias so I can also see that to have the best and quickest in the world money is necessary, I don’t agree with it as I love the idea of how wild bunch in Australia was it was awesome, if you’ve never heard of victor bray how he started was exactly the sort he thing I’d love to see again today, wild bunch turned into what we now have in aus for our fastest door cars top doorslammer
