This type of video is truly incredibly valuable, and thank you so much for your effort. I'm really glad you exist, and I wish you many more views and subscribers.
This was wonderful and very wise advise. Thank you so much for taking the time to deep dive into the technology and things to consider when buying a reference monitor!
I used (still using) a generic Amazon bought $50 TN panel for 4 years😄 Only supports standard windows srgb uncalibrated profile, 1000:1 Contrast ratio and around 350nits brightness. Will think to upgrade to a non local dimming 4K IPS LCD panel with basic support for calibration next year🤞
Probably too many auto features that cant be disabled. Seems like it doesnt support multiple frame rates so might be doing interpolation for 24p material for example.
@ ah that’s interesting, do you mean it doesn’t support multiple frame rates through a deck link? Or what do you mean by this as I think is does 4K 60 p ?
One of the best overviews of color science and technology I’ve ever seen thank you
i m using a sony led 49 inch from 5 years ago and it gets my job done as mostly it is for web

@@ColoristFoundry Fantastic, coming back to this now to help inform my new monitor choices.
Is the lg a1 a worthy mastering monitor?
