@@alanmacification Wow, I'm looking at this video again and you can see by the look on her face that Ginger doesn't take herself too seriously! I think she had a pretty decent singing voice too. Ginger looks great in this dress too, btw. She has beautiful legs.
I am reading a big picture book with every thing Fred Astair ever did - this is said to be the first time the pair appeared on screen, and Ginger was as well known for her signing as Fred was for his accordian playing.
This is my favourite song of the ones sung by Ginger, the album it's on gets plenty of play at my house. Such a talented person, acting, singing, dancing and not to mention artist.
@@pauline5248 I sincerely apologise if that came off as rude, I hope not. I was just pointing out the comical shape of it. Sorry once again, have a great day, -Carl
If you are a singer, try to find the notes Ginger is singing. This is sophisticated and a hard piece of music to sing. In me you see a sinner And dancing is my crime It seems a sin I've gotta give in To syncopated time It makes me lose my dignity, It makes me lose my poise And some folks call it music, But my folks call it noise I like music, old and new, But music makes me do the things I never should do I like music, sweet and blue, But music makes me do the things I never should do My self control was something to brag about Now it's a gag about town The things I do are never forgiven And just when I'm livin' 'em down I hear music, then I'm through ‘Cause music makes me do the things I never should do I like music I like it old I like it new But it makes me......... I like music I like it sweet I like it blue But it makes me......... My self control was something But now it's a gag about town The things I do are never forgiven And just when I'm livin' 'em down I hear music then I'm through ‘Cause music makes me do the things I never should do
You're probably right in this case because I'm sure that's not a real band. However, he can play the piano accordion - he did so on stage in one of their Broadway shows - The Bandwagon I think.
All the F&G flix were terrific, but if you watch them all in quick succession, FD2R is the stand-out for many reasons, not the least being the tunes, arrangements and -- as of the new century -- digital restorations of them on high res film. The film was a box office =smash= in pit-of-the-Great-Depression 1933, giving RKO a second "monster" hit along with "King Kong."
Stumbling onto pre-Code films as a young person was like wandering into Aladdin's treasure cave. It blew up what I had perceived as the limitations of older movies.
Slightly risque lyrics and so is Ginger's dress! For the time I mean- early thirties. Love it.
Pre Hayes code
The problem is this is Black and white, so we can't tell if Ginger really is?
On a personal level I prefer unshaven, so Ginger is a HIT?
There was a sensuality in this that today's exhibition queens could never match. Besides she was utterly charming.
She doesn't just sing it she acts it's and that one thing I really love about ginger ❤️
Underrated singer and despite what many have dared to say - a great dancer - and a fine dramatic actor
Kitty Foyle!
She was a superb dancer. She did what people who are truly great at something always do. They make the difficult look easy and effortless.
@@tomriley1499 I agree one hundred percent
This has to be a pre-code movie - look at her dress! You can see her body through it! Love you Ginger!
One year before the Hays Code.

Love the whole scene and the dress!💗
@@allisonyoung4285 Me too! The song is really catchy and she's not a bad singer.
@@alanmacification It's excellent design, though.
Oh but this lady was positively beautiful.
No Woman or Girl Singer nowadays could match Ginger!!!
Beautiful Ginger Rogers
this is adorable
Music by Vincent Youmans; lyrics by Gus Kahn and Edward Elescu. Catchy tune and clever words. A1
She was so gorgeous. I always loved her.
Now that is A DRESS!
It's about a third of a dress o.O (ah, Pre-Coders).
That funny face when she sings ‘my folks call it noise’ : -)
Positively one of my favorite Ginger Rogers moments in film. Not to mention Ginger in black with those legs!❤
She was pretty darn easy on the eyes!
@@ttintagel Not hard on the eyes at all!
I would love to hear all the way to the end of this song!
Marvellous performance by Ginger!
A such a slightly naughty, mostly cute jump tune sang by a legend
Such a catchy tune!
Her voice sends me.

An incredible song sung by the super talented Ginger Rogers with Fred Astaire in the orchestra.
Fred may have actually been playing piano accordion; he was talented pianist.
This is my favourite song of the ones sung by Ginger, the album it's on gets plenty of play at my house.

that dress is really risque even for today. This movie was really pre-Hays office
She was so amazing.❤️
My one mistake was singing this drunk at karaoke....Ill never live it down!
Karaoke made me do it
I was there! I recorded it, and put it on FB! No need to thank me!
Ginger was the best. No one today can match her.
One of a kind!
Ginger was channeling more of a Betty Boop flapper vibe in this early movie
Amazing
Risque words and a risque dress for the early thirties. I like art deco fashions, even the old microphone!
Pauline K. That microphone is a cube on a stick.
@@carltrotter7622 lol
If you think her dress is risqué, you should see some of Greta Garbo's outfits that were cut out of Mata Hari to appease the censors.

It is impressive how she hits that whole range in her chest voice.
Clever lyrics are always the icing on the cake of a good tune.
The costume designer for "Gone With The Wind" also designed Ginger's gown.
How about Fred Astaire sitting behind her playing accordian! haha
And he really could play it, too.
@@chattyroz2934 I was always given to understand, no Gentleman ever did incest, murder, or played the Piano Accordion🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Yes and the rest is history!
Ah... who is that playing the accordion in the background.... Oh yes! It's.....

There was no one as beautiful as ginger.
It is so sad that her amazing dancing was not appreciated
But, at least her acting was appreciated for, "Kitty Foyle".
Amazing woman
All of you beat me to the punch! And here I thought Josephine Baker could be scandalous!

Does anyone know if this was recorded live? The synchronization is perfect.

Fred Astaire at the accordion!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fabulous band. I wonder if this exists as a record without the talk over it?
And Fred Astaire playing the accordion!
when was this produced? I like Ginger the best.
1933
I like how the band has a full-time bass sax player, but you never hear him.
Was it bass sax or tuba? I noticed it too. Typical 20s and 30s music.
