    Hey Jimmy. Nice work. Just wanted to make a quick recommendation on the subframe nuts. The service manual states not to use impacts as this might ruin the weld on the capitive bolt inside the frame. Wouldn't be a fun repair.

      Yeah, very true. Mostly in a rusty area. But it’s similar to the Ford Trucks. If that nut spins it’s a rough day.
      Thanks!

    Very nice work on that Vette'. Jimmy, I'm leaving the shop I manage in GA, and starting for a big company called Palfinger. Build & install NEW crane equipment on new class 5-8 HD trucks. Pretty stoked, I've got about 8 years at my shop. But, $25/hr. full time with full benefits for the first time in my 31 years will be nice! Much love from your neighboring state GA

    I own a couple of the Milwaukee battery rachet but the heads are so big I'll stay with my Snapon battery rachets.People can say what they want to but snapon makes mechanic tools Milwaukee and other brands make tools mechanics can use and Jimmy you know in tight places you need all the room you can get and on flatrate you can't waste time cause your tool won't fit

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  2 роки тому +1

      Good point Donald! I haven’t had much trouble with the size of the ratchet heads yet though, but I’m taking notes for long term reviews. ;)

      Have you tried casoman or neiko? They seem like sunex but cheaper. Also some of the older tekton look like neiko

    Can you do me a favor. Go a buddy at work looking at an icon toolbox. Could you make a stand alone view of your options above you icon toolbox since you be running out of it for some time now. I think your option would be of value for the guys looking to buy. Your a flat rate guy not some home gamer. I my self don't have any experience the the icon line. Thanks in advance ❗

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, I plan on doing an update video by the end of this month about the ICON tool box and Homak cart. It's been great so far, with only a few things some might not prefer, like the drawer catches being detend only with no mechanical latch.
      But look for it in the next few weeks. :)

    And my Milwaukee 1/2 inch and 3/8 impact the batteries have gotten loose

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, the M12 line tends to make you want to push by the battery. I’ve done it myself. But have to stay on the grip!
      Plus they can break when dropped I’m told. So far so good for me.

      @@JimmyMakingitwork yeah I guess I'm old school I still prefer my air tools over battery tools but I do keep my battery tools for doing repairs in the parking lot or going to the junkyard. If I drop my airtool in a pan of transmission fluid it doesn't hurt it but it would be over for a battery tool lol. Like I said I'm a 30 year mechanic so something's I'm old school.

      @@JimmyMakingitwork now if they would make a battery powered vacuum bleeder that would be a good addition tool the lineup or a battery powered jack that would be great if it was strong enough to lift atleast a f250 but still compact to store in the trunk of a midsize car.

    Are you finding that new mid torque as strong as advertised Jimmy? Looks like it doesn't lose much even with the universal socket.

    Question. If you were to do an upper oil pan + rear main would you do them individually or pull the engine assembly? Make it easier possibly faster

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  11 місяців тому

      On this corvette we did the oil pan first and the rear main after with the engine in the car. About 12 hours work.
