Been driving OTR for 6 years. Don’t get into it if you just think it’s easy money. You will work 60-70 hours a week for maybe 1200-2000 a week and if your brand new expect less than that probably around 800. This guy probably makes more money off his UA-cam and Referal bonuses than he does driving. Many of these large companies that bring you on and train you will work you like a slave. I’ve seen guys stuffed 3 in a truck working 70 hours a week and making maybe 500 dollars. This is a lifestyle and you have to love it. Otherwise you’ll be depressed and miserable

A few mistakes made here by the presenter. There isn’t a lot of freight out there as we are in a recession, and manufacture very little ourselves these days. There are to many companies, lease drivers and owner drivers chasing to little work. Hence, low rates. The Mega Carriers have been training and employing, low skilled labor at cheap rates for far too long, driving all the standards down. It’s a crap job really, poor pay, long hours and no respect anymore. I’ve been in the business for 50 years and it’s in its worst state now than I can remember. Cheap labor doesn’t pay, it ruins everything. Whilst the you-tuber seems genuine and has respect for the industry saying he gets to see the country for free isn’t the whole story and not one to recruit drivers on. Just returned from a road trip and saw and passed hundreds of 18 wheelers. Trckers are the hardest workers and the most essential workers in the US, no question. There is no more important job in the country than truck drivers. I am not a trucker and do not even know one trucker but just from observation I thank every trucker.

He says it cost you nothing. After 32 years I can tell you this, he is full of it lol Go inside a truck stop and buy a meal. He sounds like a recruiter for a mega carrier. The industry has turned into a dumping ground for all the other failed industries and prisons. If you have time to be a tourist, you are NOT trucking!
I have been watching his UA-cam videos for over a year. The company he's with is his third and the one he wants to be with for the long haul. As a vlogger, he shows his daily routine. He likes the job, so what's wrong with that?
He fails to mention that he seldom goes home, eats, sleeps in the truck, has to find a parking spot each day, and while you are driving through the country, you really dont get to stop and look. I have now been past Mt. Rushmore 4 times, but never stop because my delivery schedule is so tight. The OTR life is not for everyone. I have not actually seen my wife since Christmas (4 months) so it is very hard on relationships.
Truck driving is actually a highly stressful job that has a high suicide rate. Most schools require you drive for them for 2 years before they will pay you back for your schooling. You regularly get harassed by police when parking your rig to go to sleep. Not to mention the traps they set specifically aimed at truck drivers to make State Revenue. Alex is an anomaly.
Trucking isn't what it once was. Today most drivers are micro managed by the employers and government and watched 24/7 on an internal camera system that both surrounds the exterior of the truck as well as pointing directly at the driver while they are driving. The new Electric Log Books leave drivers stranded especially with a lack of adequate interstate rest stop parking lot spaces available and the influx of non citizen, inexperienced drivers who lack the basic knowledge of even backing up a truck into a dock because of a lack of education/experience is ridiculous. Most owner operators are struggling to compete against migrants who don't follow the rules, drive with several drivers in the truck and will not do proper maintenance and will take anything driving down the compensation for everyone. Oh and just a FYI California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington do give CDL's to illegal immigrants.
I was a trucker 24 years until 2010 I had my leg amputated I’ll tell you honestly I’m glad I’m not on the road anymore with all the changes the government has put into law!!!
Tell me how you like driving in 45 years...I put in 45 years as driver...Retirement couldn't come quick enough...If someone asked me if they should drive for a living I'd have to tell them to figure out something else to do..
The novelty of trucking wears off after the first few years. I’m 10 in and working on a degree to get tf out of the industry haha. It’s a great career if you have the right mindset and personality.
Unfortunately, only single people who will not have a life outside the tractor will consider this a great job!! I was in the business for 4 years and i spent 2.5 years as a "lead driver". Unfortunately the majority of my trainees quit the job because they simply got homesick. I honestly don't recommend the job anymore. Various regulations and laws tax the sanity of the driver. Plus the market conditions of the industry are brutal. And last, your health will literally deteriorate from just sitting and laying 23 hours of the day. The trucking industry is absolutely brutal and i strongly don't recommend it.
3 months in and I’m quitting OTR at my 6 month mark. 750 take home pay a week is way too low for this type of stress. I was making that as a dock worker. Oh, and it’s lower than that when I take few days off when I go home. So I made more as a dock worker. If I can’t find anything class A local, I’ll get a class b or just go back to warehouse. I feel like I took 3 steps back in life since I started trucking.
Hes not really the one that would teach you about trucking experience and he got a million subscribers? That prob has to do with his style of talking rather than pointing you into a trucking job. Tell my long distance 20 year experience brothers that have done both work for a company and own trucking company and theyll laugh at this guy for it being a dream job lol
😂Slovenly eating habits combined with little exercise can lead to various health issues for truck drivers, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. While 31% of American employees struggle with obesity, that number rises to 69% for long-haul truck drivers.

The only job that you get to travel completely for free except after some time you cant call it travel or fun anymore cause you feel boxed in that small space without a choice to change it. And ask your arse how it feels to be a truck driver. Hemorrhoids ER visits are very prevalent within truck driver society
I see he was trying to be very careful about what he said about the Biden administration and EPA, when I first started 9 1/2 years ago I thought it was great getting to travel the country, but now it seems like a real drag. 30 days out for 6 days off. There's definitely no family life, and the pay for a company driver is subpar.

dont take advice from a kid who has only been driving for a minute. he is more concerned about youtube. want reliable information then ask someone with at least ten year experience
Yeh let’s talk to the trucking UA-camr. How about going down to your local truck stop and ask guys that have been doing the job at a minimum 10+ years. This guy cherry picks the industry how about you tell them about stupid Elog regulation, sitting at shippers 5+ hours with no pay, working 70+ hours a week and not being paid for every hour your away from family. Lack of parking spots at the end of the night and being run off of off ramps by state patrol for just trying to obey elog regs and sleep. They try to make trucking look like the best job in the world which to some it may be but this guy is portraying trucking through a rose colored lense if your going to tell about the job why not tell everything associated with it
Never trust a UA-camr with a million subscribers. It's all about money and lying is their native language. This trucker literally complains in every video he uploads. But yeah his total dream job😂
I drive what they call a transfer in So cal. It has its pluses and minuses but I’m home every night. I drove for one of the mega carriers for awhile and I’ll never do that again. Trucking is what you make it but one thing is for sure we get absolutely no respect.
If you're single, It's a great way to save up a lot of money. Other than what you need to eat, save every cent. No car payments, no rent or house payments. Take time off on a limited basis using a rental care and air b&b. You'll have tens of thousands of dollars saved up for a house in no time. 30 years of trucking.
I’ve been a Trucker for 13 years. Don’t believe this guy Trucking is hard and if you’re a company driver you’re really not making that much money because like any other job it solely depends on the economy. This guy sounds like a typical recruiter just trying to get a bonus. I can’t stand the fake UA-cam Drivers who glamorize this profession
Seriously ??? You’re saying it as a great job it as a great job. I have over 32 years experience as a commercial truck driver. It’s a great pay job when you’ve been doing it for as long as I have and you get up around $100,000 a year or more. But sadly, what you’re touting is not all of the truth of what’s wrong with trucking. It’s not the most healthiest job in the world. It’s one of the most dangerous jobs in the United States. You can get a warning for speeding and it goes on your driving record which could prevent you from getting another job, yes a speeding warning and you can’t fight it in court. If you work in the area where I do in the northeast you will have a hard time to find a parking space every night. and not every company treats, their drivers very well. Some do,mine for sure, but I know many that don’t. And don’t get me started on this Problem with drivers doing lease purchases that’s another whole ball game.
I like Alex and have watched some of his videos but as a retired truck driver I found the job to be very stressful. He makes it sound like it's just a walk in the park!
They go further between fuel ups than a EV could do. Not to mention the idle time they have the reefers that need to run that have to have fuel. Full eletric wont work for commerce.
If you've been in some truckstops lately, its like a 3rd world. Guys a month ago were in the congo driving an ox cart now driving 80ooo lbs on the highway. Many of these fresh recruits have No concept of inertia, Snow, or stopping Distances with heavy trucks. Worked at truck dealership, some of these guys had to have an interpreter on phone when they stopped in for repairs. After you've timed out, try an sleep at 3 in the afternoon. DOT times kills your sleep awake rhythm. Fun till its Not
I can assure you one thing, as a former OTR driver he’s making more money from UA-cam than his job

😂The average life expectancy of a commercial truck driver is only 61 years - 16 years lower than the national average, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Because mocking the working class is guaranteed to win you votes. 🙄

It’s a good job until it’s not
That’s any job
Yoooo let's gooo bro... Alex as your friend I'm soo proud of you !!
Oh and BTW, if you think I’m gonna subscribe to FOX NEWS 🤨🤣😂😡 FORGETABOUTIT , FOX BUSINESS with Neil Cavuto and Charles Payne and Liz Claman YES 😎👍, but never Fox News 🤮.
My trucking school was about 4 weeks, but i did pay out of pocket to choose my job after
Give him a couple years driving and then lets hear him talk. Id rather hear a trucking veteran thats been doing it 30 years than this kid thats been doing it 3 minutes.
He'll grow up and get sick of it soon.
Why would he? He got a channel with 1 million subs. Imagine his bank account
If you love what you’re doing , it will never feel like work. Keep up the good work my guy.
I have watched his UA-cam videos!!! I am so glad he’s a FOX fan!!!!
Heck yeah my boy Alex!
I was going to Blame Alex the Turn Signal Guy 😂, for giving away all the OTR trucking Secrets to of all people FOX NEWS 😲😡??? But it’s all good because not everyone can live in their trucks and run OTR. GREAT JOB ALEX. 👍😎👍
No money on trucking this days 😢
The whole country relies on truckers yet they dont pay them well enough
Alex you are the cool guy I like watching your videos to just keep on trucking and be safe out there to.
Sure you see a lot of United States via interstate but it’s hard on a family life unless your single or you bring your family with you
dont take advice from a kid who has only been driving for a minute. he is more concerned about youtube. want reliable information then ask someone with at least ten year experience
Hasn't the Trucking Giant Pride Sales declared bankrupsy?
I❤Y Alex
I drive what they call a transfer in So cal. It has its pluses and minuses but I’m home every night. I drove for one of the mega carriers for awhile and I’ll never do that again. Trucking is what you make it but one thing is for sure we get absolutely no respect.
Haha on the news shorty after I start watching this guy 😁. Hell yeah
It's not hard unless you own your own equipment.
Amen he ain't a bad dude but he loves to romantize the industry it pisses me off
He's not like most drivers, STOP DELIVERING WAGES PARKING GOVERNMENT OVERREACE, STOP DELIVERING WAGES SUCK PARKING SUCK 😮
If you bought it- a truck brought it
I like Alex and have watched some of his videos but as a retired truck driver I found the job to be very stressful. He makes it sound like it's just a walk in the park!
The big trucking companies have destroyed the small trucking companies out of existence, So how is that a great thing for our country ?
The country wouldn't survive long term. We get a lot of stuff by truck
The problem with driving a truck for a living, is the fact that you have to drive a truck.
The open road is cake walk! City driving ? Say Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, st Louis, sitting in traffic doesn’t acrew income.
But local people drive day cabs. So much easier than a sleeper
These people need to do a segment with Alex nino
that would’ve been better
@@Jonathan-pr1wo definitely I just saw his most recent video with faze rug
FOX host just diverted from what Alex said about hard times in the trucking industry with "Oh there is a lot of freight out there" Umkay
I’m surprised that he didn’t make stupid comments like he does in his other videos.
They go further between fuel ups than a EV could do. Not to mention the idle time they have the reefers that need to run that have to have fuel. Full eletric wont work for commerce.
$50k annually? Man, stay home and work Uber...
This guy is new to the industry. Dont have a clue about it
It should be illegal to own a vacant property for more than 6 months!! it wastes water and electricity!!...plus, it may end up a criminal hideout!!
Nice truck driver. No wonder he had 1.5 million followers.
🗣Alexx 👍🏻
The electric vehicles in general catch fire from excessive water and cold as seen in Cali
Good old grandma Shirley was a professional trucker back in the golden days of yonder
Happy Easter to all Fox Viewers and Contributors
If you've been in some truckstops lately, its like a 3rd world. Guys a month ago were in the congo driving an ox cart now driving 80ooo lbs on the highway. Many of these fresh recruits have No concept of inertia,
Snow, or stopping Distances with heavy trucks.
Worked at truck dealership, some of these guys had to have an interpreter on phone when they stopped in for repairs. After you've timed out, try an sleep at 3 in the afternoon. DOT times kills your sleep awake rhythm. Fun till its Not
Yeah, he forgot to mention the danger of being around dumb dangerous Foreigner's.
They made him wear that stupid headset lol
☎️ "Hey Georgia Governor, find me 11,780 votes! That's one more than we need!" 😂😂😂
You all should interview the mother trucker for facts in trucking
