I have the razor crest. Am currently building. So I'm just gonna stick to the other bounty ship. Oh, I also have the slave 1 too lol. So yeah I'm good for this set lol
The Justifier looks spectacular because of the Cad Bane figure and the features. The price, way too expensive. Heck, the Justifier cost around $210 in Canada. That's a bummer
This set is weird to me. When I first saw this ship in the show, I thought it was really ugly and a downgrade from Bane's previous ship, Xanadu Blood. But this set actually makes me like it, which I didn't expect. But then I look at the price tag, and I hate it again
Usually lego sets are around $0.10-0.12 cents a piece*, sometimes 0.9 and sometimes 0.13. This one is $0.16 cents a piece which is a bit ridiculous. *price per piece isn’t how sets are officially priced
Price per piece has absolutely never been a thing, just something some people started to use to complain about pricing. It’s all about the size of the pieces, and naturally this one’s pieces are *big*. That being said, there’s a ton of other ships that would make infinitely more sense at this price point.
Price per piece is largely an inaccurate way to value a set. Some sets are cheap (relative to the number of pieces) and have thousands of pieces. This is because those sets consist of mostly small pieces. Some sets are expensive and have a shockingly small amount of pieces. This is because they contain many large pieces to make up the bulk of the set. Then there are some sets that are just terribly priced. This is one of those sets
I think it's incredibly interesting that LEGO is starting to create the sets (and mostly the figures) fans have been begging for for years at the same time as these insane price jumps. I guess what we get what we want at a price? Is that the morale of the story?
Or they know they have to raise prices, so the trade off is unload all the most fan requested sets/figures to keep their fans invested despite the price hike. If they made boring sets and raised prices it'd tank their business, so do what ensures profits.
the thing is, if it sells well, then they put it at the right price. if people say "well, it's really overpriced, but i'm going to buy it anyway because (such and such; e.g. minifigures)", then really they made it the right price; the price which the customers are willing to pay. they only made it too expensive if it doesnt sell well because of it, at which point they can put it on sale. People seem to only care about the price to part ratio or the amount of plastic you are getting, but the sets still get bought because there is extrinsic value in certain elements of lego sets; minifigures of popular characters, rare parts or colours of parts, etc.
I feel like the landing gear feature with the ships tail took a lot away from this set. If we didn’t have that, we could’ve been looking at a lot more playability. The mini figures are awesome, but it would’ve been nice if Cad Bane had arm printing like you said. I agree with you about the AT-TE being more valuable. Especially with that Phase 2 Commander Cody.
I’m glad David didn’t pull his punches on this set. It’s overpriced and with only three exclusive mini figs it’s a hard pill to swallow. I’m glad he didn’t just sell out with being sent the set for free.
The Justifier reminds me of some of the 2011 sets in the way it's built. Definitely gives me some nostalgia for sure. Do think it's a little much, I really wish Lego would pay more attention to reasons why the set is said price. I do think Lego needs to watch out with this because something will backfire eventually.
For me the price fails on the grounds of it being a ship only seen in a single episode! If it had appeared back in The Clone Wars or on Book of Boba Fett I’d be more tempted. But the lack of detail is the nail in the coffin for me.
Am I really the ONLY one who finds the design amateur looking? All I can find is people praising it (apart from the price) and I literally don’t get it
Lego: We can't justify making new versions of TIE Bombers or Interceptors, because....reasons. Also Lego: Here's Cad Banes random ship that no one asked for.
This was a really well done review. Honest and not overly enthusiastic. This ship sort of strikes me like the knights of Ren ship did. Underwhelming. But more disappointing because: Cad Bane. He deserved better. I sort of wish they had taken those figures and put them into a playset scene and scrapped the Justifier if they couldn't do it right.
Hey Solid Birx am, ya think (if you want or could no pressure) maybe you could show YOUR way, with just some pieces, on how to make the justifier like...better'? well covering the parts you mentioned as ''exposed'', maybe!...
I think it looks great and the landing gear folding into the body is a nice touch, but I also do not see this set ever going on sale during its production run.
Kinda feels like the UCS Star Destroyer to me, overall it does look good and have a few good figures but for that price it´s just not enough. The gaps are to big, the underside isn´t detailed, the interior is lacking for a set that big etc. Those might not be the most important things but for the price they should defenetly have been there. Without there is something missing and really doesn´t seem worth 170 USD. Rather get a second AT-TE for that or wait till the set is at a massive discount but I sure won´t spend 170 USD on it.
I’m just loving this set! I’m scrolling through UA-cam and I see this review even after I’ve seen it two times and I just think, Dang that set looks really good on the thumbnail! I feel like that justifies me getting this set :)

I am a HUGE Bad Batch fan, and this set was definitely the one I was most excited for when its name was revealed. Unfortunately, after this review it seems I won't be getting this set, but fortunately, the money will be going to the AT-TE which I was initially unsure of, even with the new Cody revealed. The grey sticker on the side has very poor colour matching that we've unfortunately come to expect from LEGO. For the absurd price, I was expecting much more interior. I am unfamiliar with the set itself, but based on this review, my judgment is that the rear thruster with the landing gear seems a little overengineered and definitely takes up a lot of space while also leaving some unsightly gaps. Very unfortunate, and even thought the Cad Bane, Todo and Omega minifigures look excellent, and Hunter and Fennec are great additions, the price still doesn't do it and there should have at least one more minifigure, like Taun We whom they could've reused from the Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter. EDIT: The sides also look very flat but not in a good way like "tiled" sort of flat, but just the sides of bricks, and the angles could've been done better. The top has way too many exposed studs as well.
Yea I would’ve liked to see a complete interior like the millennium falcon, blaster racks, bed, maybe even an escape pod, but I’m better off getting the exclusive figures from bricklink and saving my money- and display room
Maybe around somewhere $100-$130 would’ve been a more fair price for this, but $170? That is excessive You could buy about half of the Hogwarts modular castle sets for that price and get like 20ish minifigs and way more pieces. They’ve gotten so stingy with Lego Star Wars lately, I’m assuming Disney is probably being difficult with the licensing and that’s what’s driving up the price so much.
I'll be buying this set, not on first day tho... ...will try to get it at discount later. Superb minifigs, ok ship design but dang.... ...that price is so steep. Thanks for the review.
This set is a really great $100 play set. With 2022 inflation I would go as far as to say $130. $170 is ridiculous and i'm sure you'll immediately be able to find it at second hand retailers for $150.
Looks a bit like a rush job, and weirdly high priced for a playset (and just 4 minifigs for that pricetag). I bet there will be much better MOC versions of this one..
Meanwhile, "76193 The Guardians' Ship" is a licensed set, with almost double the pieces, and an AMAZING build for around the same price (adjusted). WTH, Lego???
Just got my Justifier an hour ago at one of the local Walmart's at $180.00 (tax included). It appears Disney wants their Star Wars cut on the profits. Interesting to note this set has a much bigger box, less pieces and cost around 80 bucks more than the new Galaxy Explorer?!
i personally love the desgin of the ship, the price hurts me and will be stopping me from buying on release and waiting till it goes on sale at a reduced price in the fall
When you compare this to the light cruiser it falls flat. It's a huge ship don't get me wrong but only 4.5 figures in a $170 set is lack luster. It should be similar priced to the at-te imo. I'll wait for a good sale for this one.
I appreciate that even though you got this set for free, you still give your honest opinion and talk about how disappointed you are with the set. This set is nowhere near worth the asking price in my opinion, and after seeing it in closer detail with your review, I'm not interested in it at all and will be saving my money... And probably picking up a second AT-TE instead 😂
Not to be devils advocate but the high price per piece is likely from the high amount of huge pieces. You could see a similar price per piece on the Sith Dorito Tie fighter, which was made and discontinued well before current inflation woes. I think price per piece goes out the window when several very large pieces are in the equation. Obviously little 1x1 or 1x2 plates are going to be cheaper to manufacture than larger plate pieces. Just look at the price per piece on sets from the 80’s and 90’s when most pieces in the set were large. The price per piece was much worse then than it is now on average (adjusted for inflation) Not necessarily sticking up for Lego but it’s just something that makes sense to me. Even compared to the Imperial Light Cruiser this set seems more dense and massive, where as the former set is mostly hollow. Sorry I said price per piece so many times. Price per piece.
So if you flip the ship upside down besides the cockpit lid that will fall off, will the wing covers also go flying due to no clutch power? It seems to me that it will and I have no idea how these things pass Lego’s final playability tests!!!
Never clicked so fast. I’m gonna buy it I’m a big cad bane fan and I don’t have fennec. Or a cad bane. And hunter I can trade with friends :) Because I have one from the bad batch shuttle. Love the review amazing set not so amazing price tag but it’s ok in my book it’s cad bane
The fact that it’s Cad Bane doesn’t justify the price, by the same logic they should’ve upped the AT-TE to 170$ because it has Commander Cody, this price is way too high and it’s pretty obvious Lego is just trying to rip-off the Cad Bane fans, I also think the old Cad Bane figure looked much better, the breathing tubes look weird and the hat is too small
I think if we compare this set to other 160 dollar sets, the price is justified. This is as big as the imperial light cruiser and bigger then the atat from 2020. price per piece isnt everything, although I will say that they couldve added like one or two more figures like a kaminoan, crosshair or another member of the bad batch besides hunter.
the light cruiser has about 300 more pieces and more minifigs tho its also bigger in size the light cruiser is 22 inch and the justified is 15, at at is smaller than the justified but it has more pieces and minifigures.
Honestly, the more I look at it I'm not sure I like it. Like it is a really cool ship, but when you see what other areas (non-SW) teams from Lego are showing, it seems as though this set belongs 10 years ago, almost as if the SW team just isn't keeping up with the rest of the Lego teams. Honestly, for the price they are asking, (and looking at revealed non-SW sets), it seems as though the Lego SW team is substantially trailing behind. (Don't get me wrong the UCS AT=AT is extraordinary, but some of the other sets just seem outdated).
lego really gave the middle finger to anyone who bought the Boba Fett's palace. Cause that was supposed to be the first time we get Fennec with a hair piece, but sadly no helmet. Now in this set, she comes with that hair piece and the helmet =( Issue is once we buy the At-Te, the Justifier is just not gonna fit the budget. For all we know, later LEGO will bring a new Clone Wars related set by the time the budget is ready =(
Justifier's price just isn't justified in a justifiable sense to me.
lmao
haha and the name Justifier, that's funny lol
Agree this is a wait to the price drop to it goes on sale. Especially with the wing problem

the light cruiser has about 300 more pieces and more minifigs tho its also bigger in size the light cruiser is 22 inch and the justified is 15, at at is smaller than the justified but it has more pieces and minifigures.
looks sick
Ah yes, I love it when Cad Bane kills a lightsaber from a jedi
Good to see the honest review. I thought that maybe the reviews weren't honest anymore due to you collaborating with lego but I'm glad I was wrong
I love how, early in the video, I was thinking maybe $130 would be a better price? Then at the end of the video you were like, "maybe $130, $140..."
Update I was able to haggle got the set for 65 and bonus bag number 1 was included in the box lol, another return store banger
This is a $150 set inflation or not, its a pass for over $160. I'm glad you're calling it out as too expensive for what it is.
It is very expensive for me. But the set is really good. I think will be better to buy AT-TE
I only want it because Cad Bane
This makes grievous star fighter look like a fair price
nice set!
lego really gave the middle finger to anyone who bought the Boba Fett's palace.
