I'm 71 years old I've always been a fan since the early 70s but I never got to see them live here's my UA-cam channel ua-cam.com/video/VMet_o64xfY/v-deo.html
I first saw you guys in Aberdeen about 73 I think. It was the first live band I'd ever seen. The show started with a loud bang and all the lights going off and some stage smoke as I remember. Then your music burst through, the lights came up and I was blown away. I've seen many groups live since then but you were always up there with the best of them. It looks like despite many years you guys have still got it. Great professional performance.
Watched these three at the New Forest Folk Festival in I think 2018 but could have been 2017, anyway I digress. They came on stage and blew everyone away with their set, I remember a cousin being into these lads in the 70’s so knew some of their music but bugger me they were good, no not good, AMAZING, myself and my friends are hoping to see them again in the future. If you want good musicianship coupled with amazing lyrics then the Acoustic Strawbs have in abundance.
I love this song, thank you for recording and posting it! There is an interesting adaptation of this wonderful song on the fishersofmenvideo UA-cam channel. It is called "Pilgrim's Progress." Have a look!
Did I really see the Strawbs as an acoustic band at Southampton uni back in the 60s? Hard to believe now but if it really happened I'm the sole survivor of those of us who were there. 🥲
Three of the originals. Terrific to see them still performing. This was the first Strawbs song I ever heard on FM radio and I became an instant fan.

LOVE the Strawbs and love this song....one of my favorites. And that electric dulcimer has always sounded cool to me. Thanks for putting this up.
Heard this first on Radio Caroline in the seventies. Great memories
Reminds me of my teenage years when I was young and beautiful, and life was teeming with possibilities. Happy days!
We're still young and beautiful
This is such a brilliant song. First heard the album of this name when I was 10 and still love it
Powerful, soulful, brilliant!!! I love Strawbs.
Beautiful and magnificent."Bless the hero in his grave"....................
