Concise, while also covering in sufficient detail the nuances with this process -- other videos just say, "Then pry it open" and either a) don't make it clear you can use the key (instead of a screwdriver) and b) that you need to put in the key / screwdriver *just* enough to easily pry it open; I was putting it in too far. Thank you for creating this video. I was a bit nervous popping it open but with a little bit of pressure it popped open. You saved me a trip to the dealership and likely a lot of money. Also your video took the mystery out of these fobs. I think it took me a minute to change the battery and the CR2032 must be a popular size since I had a spare one around the house. Reassembled, checked the locks and started the Equinox. Perfect ! Thanks a again.

Helpful video but you failed to mention some critical things, that can cause significant time and frustration if you're not watching out for it:
1. THE SPRING! Depending on how the Fob enclosure happens to come apart, the components you move may already stay on the other half. The little silver lever, whose end is the release button is very lightly held in place in a groove, retaining a tiny spring that provides the pressure for the key release button. If it happens to move out of that grove a little bit the spring can go shooting somewhere into the universe. Mine did so and I was incredibly fortunate to be able to find it several feet away on the floor with a flashlight. When when I first put it back together it wasn't back in the groove quite right, and I managed to miss form the end of it when I was putting the metal key back in the slot. I had to try to carefully bend it back into shape. It didn't manage to shoot away again while trying to get it back in the slot, this time I amazingly heard it land in a box several feet away, and was able to retrieve it once again. Finally on the third try I got it back in just right. If you're just aware that can happen, and make sure that little lever stays in the groove while you take apart it will all be fine.
2. Have your new battery ready to go. There are reports of some people losing the Fob's code and having to reprogram the vehicle to recognize it. That likely would be from either allowing the fob battery to run all the way down, we're leaving the battery out of the fob for an extended period of time. It's not a big race but I wouldn't recommend removing the battery and then leaving it out for an hour or two while driving to the store to get one. And replace it rather than procrastinate when the vehicle warned you more than once that it is getting low.
3. Go easy on the plastic while prying with a screwdriver. The little plastic tabs around the battery and button slide can snap off if you are reckless.
