Produced, engineered, and mixed by Waters, Ballistic, Sadistic was recorded at the brand new, state of the art, Watersound Studios UK earlier this year with additional engineering and editing by bassist Rich Hinks and mastering by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.

Wo ! Who needs a lead singer when Jeff has it sorted out on this album. Still picking my jaw back off the floor after the lead shredding. Still got it, eh ? The rhythm and percussion have that first album bite. I like it.
I feel like a lot of people in the comments can't accept that people inevitably change. Jeff Waters was pretty young and impressionable when he wrote and recorded Alice In Hell, Never, Neverland and Set The World on Fire. Over the years his songwriting has changed, along with himself. I don't know him personally (although I would love to) but as is the case with pretty much everyone I know, people change. Have we all forgotten that Remains exists? That album was a HUGE departure from anything Annihilator, and it still stands out in the catalogue.
Personally I like this song. Nice aggression, fantastic guitar tone, and the drums sound real enough to me. They sound slightly flawed, as acoustic drums do. They don't have a perfect tone, unlike what you can do with a sample. Sure they don't sound fantastic but I'd say that's more the tuning of the drums and the mix. I trust Mr Waters not to lie about how he recorded the album.
And for those complaining about riffs "stolen" from other songs: There's only so many notes and sounds a guitar can make. They've all been made at this point, and the context of a riff is more important than the riff itself in my opinion. A great riff will be nothing without drums and bass as a supportive element.
Stop being so harsh, if you enjoy the music just listen to it. If you don't, you don't have to come here and talk shit. Music is completely subjective, everyone will have their own tastes, and noone can dictate what you should and shouldn't like. I'm not sure why I bothered writing all of this to be frank.

Agreed. Listening to Suicide Society you could hear that the songs were written with Dave's voice in mind and Jeff tried to sound like him.

Yeah, shame about the drums (as usual). He may have had Mangini on some past records, but the sound was really flat. Compare this to Waking the Fury, where the drums sound incredible.

But he releases an album every 2 years (even more often sometimes) since '89.

Reminds me of the stuff on Bag of Tricks that was the raw pre-refined versions of songs that showed up on the first two albums. Best vocal work on an Annihilator recording since the Waking the Fury album.

No new influences or inspirences, could also be a song from for the demented.. and the drums aren't real.. it's a little sad but still solid even if the mashine gun riff sounds kinda similar to the one of twisted lobotomy and there it sounded better and i think it's familiar to another older song too but well yeah still solid....

I've been with you for just over 20 years,... and I say this out of love.
These riffs arent strong enough, they are recycled offcuts from other riffs.
This song sounds like a manufactured contractual obligation, as if product was needed due to suit demand.
All these riffs sound like they were in a folder and stuck together in the order that made the most sense.

The only issue Annihilator have been having throughout the years is the inconsistency of the lineup. The music never suffered, though, I strongly believe they are better than Slayer and Megadeth. It’s a huge statement, I know
