Just curious as to why his guitar seems to be louder than the rest of the band, at least in the lead solos sections of the song. It kinda drowns out some of the rest of the bands backing music.

I've been a fan of Annihilator for 16-odd years now. For several years, they were my absolute favourite band even though I didn't absolutely love every single album, I did find something to like on all of them. Yes, even on 'Remains'. But as a guy who's a few years away from his 40th, I just can't buy into this 'a real fan supports his bands no matter what'. I no longer have money to waste on shite albums. And the majority of the new albums that Annihilator have put out during the time that I've been a fan (the first 'new' album from them that I bought was 'All For You') have been either outright disappointments (Metal, Suicide Society) or hit 'n' miss. I work hard for my money and also my time for listening to music has vastly decreased in recent years. If Jeff can't put out something that's the quailty of 'Carnival Diablos' - at the very least - then I'm done with new Annihilator albums. Sorry, Jeff. I'll do my best to get to a show if you're nearby me but I don't need watered-down versions of songs that came out 30 years ago. And yes, the lyrics are abominable.
@@chondrinenigma TBH his ( Jeff ) last best album was Waking The Fury THAT was old school vintage Annihilator it had that killer vintage Waters bouncy riffs we all know and loved Blackest Day still is a rager man, but like i said after All For You, i really don't know where Jeff's head was at back then... But he tried to harken back to Set The World On Fire with too much melodies and tried to get radio friendly again , and he basically never left that formula ( kinda like Overkill ) and wrote that same song style ever since. These "Going back to Never, Neverland" assumptions need to stop even the faster songs lack that Annihilator sound, and again i again ask the question...Is it really that hard to find a competent vocalist out there to sing on his records? I think his ego won't let it happen after Dave Padden left him at the alter there are some KILLER vocalists whom i would think would KILL to sing on an Annihilator record, one more thing Jeff needs to get a ghost writer for his lyrics for the last time, even a child can make up a better story jeezus man they're embarrassing to say the least. Soo with that being said i'm not looking foward to another Corny Annihilator record because i'm really starting to feel for Jeff man he totally lost his writing touch.
I think you've encompassed all that fans love about Annihilator in one track. This is a super groovy cut with great mid-tempo riffs. But Jeff's guitar work is fantastic. Not only the solo, but the lead melodies after the 1st solo are mesmerizing. Just hoping for more consistency across all songs on the new record.

The tracks I've heard from this record are some of the best I've heard in a long time from these guys. I grew up with Annihilator (got into em in high school with Alice In Hell) and that old vibe I've been missing from them is back.
My idol 🎸, the greatness of Jeff Waters was that he was practically Van Halen playing Thrash Metal, and he did that better than anyone from his generation, Metal till I die 🤘🏻❤

I thought Annihilator would be finished after Dave Patton left, but Jeff managed to enlist a talented bunch of young dudes and this sounds as kick ass as any other Annihilator album.
The only thing I miss in new Annihilator is bit of unexpected parts and bit progish phrases from Never Neverland period during the song and not plain heavy/thrash. Everything else is just pure awesomeness. \m/

I thought Annihilator would be finished after Dave Patton left, but Jeff managed to enlist a talented bunch of young dudes and this sounds as kick ass as any other Annihilator album.

The only thing I miss in new Annihilator is bit of unexpected parts and bit progish phrases from Never Neverland period during the song and not plain heavy/thrash. Everything else is just pure awesomeness. \m/
