The classic Tales of Phantasia signature track. Taken from Tales of Phantasia Original Soundtrack Complete Version [Disc 2].
Music by: Motoi Sakuraba, Shinji Tamura, and Ryota Furuya.
Having played Tales of Symphonia first... this song was such a frickin' pleasure to recognize, hahaha.
My favourite battle theme in any Tales Of
I think Symphonia version is better.
@@estebangamer636yt2 I discovered it with symphonia but this one
Melody dream .. Each pass, every home, every resolution, all perfect.
Exciting, envovlente, sincere.
Another masterpiece of Master Matoi Sakuraba.
Masterpiece, yes! Sakuraba composition, no! This is a Shinji Tamura composition
I'm starting a new gaming channel for gameplay commentary. Hope you guys will check it out! Here's my first upload. Enjoy!

Every time I hear this song, I get chills up my spine...
I could be mistaken but does this theme favor Guile theme from the SF series?
Quien sabe... talvez veamos un nuevo Remake y continuación del X. Eso si, con este mismo estilo, no tiene nada que envidiarle las versiones mas actuales sin duda alguna.
Sakuraba is the best!!!! he and Mitsuda are my favorite game musice composers.
@Dragonatrix tales of the world is a gba game featureing tales of phantasia, tales of symphonia, and tales of destiny 1 and 2 i think. unless they're all copyrighting eachother, its all in the same game genere, like mario cart and super mario bros. are bolth mario games.
@Blitzballgott I wouldn't count adding voice overs for everything a 2nd remake. New edition for sure though.
@Dragonatrix ontop of that, tales of the world is'nt a completely different game, or as the full title says "tales of the world: radient mythyology." it has characters from the other tales of the world games, ie: chester from tales of phantasia.
@Mdude123456789 ...Tales of the World is a completely different game. It's a spin-off title for the PSP. Try again.
@AndreasAottiotta you mean tales of symphonia? yes, the tales of symphonia and tales of phantasia are part of a series called "tales of the world" and this is a 2d version for many consles, including gba and is verry fun. if your into the great gameplay of tales of symphonia, i recomend this fast-paced game.
@Mdude123456789 That's Summoner's Lineage which is a different thing entirely. The actual Radiant Mythology games, i.e. the ones you are on about, are on the PSP and they're not part of the actual... "timeline" that comprises of Phantasia, Symphonia, Dawn of the New World, Narikiri Dungeon and, even, Summoner's Lineage.
@Dragonatrix its a typo. everyone does it at one part of their life including you.
Where are all the battle shouts? D:
Super nostalgia.
Ppl keep saying this version is from the psx version but it's so different, the main lead here is a nice smooth Square lead sound, in the psx version it's more of a higher pitched Pulse lead sound. Anyway. I also have this album, do you know what version of console this was from? Or is it more of a Midi type of thing recorded from actual hardware the composers used? Like the album 'all sounds of ogre battle'
At the time Motoi apparently wanted to make a separate "album" that could be listened to on its own instead of just recording the raw in-game music arrangements.
That's how "Tales Of Phantasia Soundtrack: Complete Version" was born as its own separate arrange album.
@Dragonatrix if its an entirely different game altogether and its using the name "tales of the world" in it than unless they're doing a ton of copyright while useing the games, how can it be seperate? think about this, if theres a ff6 for playstation and a ff6 for gba, does that mean they are two completely different generes?
It may be older, but this version is so much better than the symphonia version imo. Also I'm not biased by nostalgia or anything because I hadn't heard these songs till today
Majora Shy Guy I agree. Symphonia's version is just too mellow compared to this one. It's the drum beat, I think.
Symphonia has a different music style, doesn't have to be better or worse
infected89 What are tastes and opinions?
@cwk12782 ToP has been remade 3 times bro
GBA, PSP and PS1
@BeastlyVoldemort T_T
we did.
CHECK THE DATE NEXT TIME. thank you.
Best song ever... I get goose bumps from hearing this. Fuck symphonia bullshit. Phantasia is the best game ever created on earth.
@Zappacho your comment should be put on T-shirts, with the (in my opinion) omitted
Damn, this game is badass... Wish we would have another time of JRPGs like to SNES times.
even thought it was made first its hinted the Sym is technically the prequal to Phan
I dwell amidst the abounding light of heaven!
Thou are at the gate to the underworld!
Come forth the thunder of the gods!
THIS ENDS HERE! INDIGANAYSHUN!
The original snes version gives me goose bumps.
Cress is American version Cless is Japanese version its based on Egg n Cress for the USA one. All names are based on food or something like that Mint is spearmint or just a mint plant or not its still food, Chester from Chestnut etc.. Its not really obstinate you can call them what you like because Cress is also Cless they are one and the same tomato TOMATOE so relax on the naming buddy.
so whats klarth supposed to be
...
*whispers*
Shinmyoumaru...
cuz this is the original track that started the entire series
Listen this like the Spirit&Elements that fight with this theme said,
"If you want to use my power, prove with your strenght&spirit, then!!"
Easily the best version of this song. As good as the SNES version, but more epic.
Claus F. Lester is his Japanese name for and for Klarth there are hundreds of thousands of names for food and plant alike perhaps someone out there can enlighten us lol I only know of the 3 Mint, Cress and Chester
That's the best joke I've seen all week.
este juego necesita un remake
Sin duda (me sorprende encontrar a alguien que hable español lol).
Without a doubt (I'm surprised to find someone here speaking spanish lol).
i call upon the hammer of heaven ly thunder i summon the come VOLT!!!!
i call upon the envoy from dark abyss i summon thee come SHADOW!!!
@Mdude123456789 You know, I find it adorable how you think "swearing = immature." Apparently context doesn't exist, huh?
美しい メローディ... 死ぬ まで きっと その メローディ が忘れられません。
Why not?
Ah, but good sir, none of the Tales series could have happened if not for Cless.
Much like how people hate on Akira Toriyama without realizing how much influence he's had upon most manga artists out today, Symphonia wouldn't exist if it weren't for Phantasia.
I do agree on the fact that I like Lloyd better as a character, I still love Phantasia umpteen times more than Symphonia..
But thats your opinion, so I can't say you're wrong.
Both character's dev. were diferent, their motivations were diferent, while Lloyd started to protect his childhood friend, Cless started looking for the truth behind the masacre in his village, but at the end both where forced to decide, and save the world from a Well-Intentioned Extremist. While Lloyd is more like an actual anime hero, Cless is a Archetipical Hero. And for characters, Ruca Milda from Innocence, is probably one of the best developed out there in the franchise.
Their background isn't the same, as for their reason to travel.
- Llyod is child with lovey dovey mind which protect his best friends.
- Cless had his family killed and his hometown destroyed by Dhaos minions. He has lost everything.
In the end, even if Dhaos had his reasons to kill people ( to save his home planet ), that doesn't change the fact that he murders Cless's parents and Chester's sister and countless people. Cless is more "human" than Llyod I think.
I recently got Abyss, and I think Jade is my favorite character so far.
Me too. :-)
@Fwahm no.... just no. i appereciate this version for being the original badass, but ToS mastered it.
This is the theme of Romnel The Desert Fox for me.
@DogiTheWallcrusher
How about America gets a GOOD remake
It's one of those the L could have been an R due to Japanese dialect. L's are pronounced as Rs in some words in the dialect, which to me makes more sense as to why the translators just changed the L to an R.
@Bobownzall1 That i can agree with.
Cless was really forgettable to me. Lloyd had some spunk and was way more entertaining, not to mention more heroic. In terms of characters in Tales, I would easily put Luke Fon Fabre at the top for being the most human and most unique protagonist.
That he lived in a killor be killed world? Because that's basically the kind of world Sylvarant is.
Lloyd seemed like a wuss to me. Cless was a more heroic figure, but I'd put Reid above both, for having both character -and- spirit.
@Dragonatrix but X could be a toy car made by the same company. instead of making yourself look like an idiot and commenting to somthing you dont agree with, not only that but using sware language, making you look immature beacuse you cant even find any other insult, you are putting yourself in an argument. try again.
Man what i would give to a respectful ToP Remake with just an updated battle system and stuff.
None of that disgusting modern Tales of shit that is full of incest (Berseria ugh...) and other fucked up shit.
There is a ToP up to date game. It's Phantasia X on PSP. Updated sprites in battles, better combat, a new character introduced.
..But, incest? The fuck? I don't remember any incest in Berseria.
Do you mean the 2 knights, Oscar and Theresa? That wasn't incest, that was just siblings protecting eachother.

Velvets relationship with her brother is depicted in such a gross way to me.
Even when someone explained to me why they're both hugging each other naked in the credits it didn't help because the depiction itself comes off as if Namco hired some hentai writers just to see how much they can get away with. Not to mention she's the first female main character and they give her the most atrocious standard outfit possible (again did they hire former hentai artists or something a la Xenoblade 2?).
I gave that game a fair chance (put in 15-20 hours) but i just couldn't deal with these god awful characters anymore even though the story premise itself is somewhat interesting sorry.
Oh,I'm not fussing. It's mostly that obvious Engrish bugs the hell out of me at times. If I were fussing I'd point out the fact tomatoe is also a misspelling that spawns from the way some regions pronounce tomato.
@Blitzballgott and once for gba :)
すげぇ久々に聴いたけどこんな格好よかったっけ?シンセがヤバいわ

Yo' comment made ma day xDDD
@Mdude123456789 ...Wow, that's the shittiest analogy I've ever heard. "X AND Y ARE THE SAME BECAUSE AN ORANGE CAR IS THE SAME AS AN ORANGE CAR."
Heh, Lloyd is a bloody saint a lot, but at the same time he's basically a kid and still has no problem killing any evildoers, even right from the start of the adventure. Had he been killing people all his life?
Meanwhile Luke, who's intentionally written as a huge dick and totally unrelatable, actually has to learn that sometimes you have to kill people to survive and has his own little freak out the first time he kills a person.
What does it say about Lloyd that he never went through that?
hmmm if we are going for most unique i feel like Yuri was more unique. well at least for the first half of vesperia
Same theme Tales of symphonia ^^
Seems like Symphonia's version was a revival of this.
Mhm, even though this was the first Tales game, Symphonia takes place before Phantasia. Phantasia takes place in the same universe but 4000 years later and the Spirits are still there so I'm glad some of the songs were the same. This song never gets old no matter what version it is.~
Cal Harpy
Wait. So Gnome went from being that giant piece of shit to that tiny little mole thing in 4000 years? Amazing.
"none of the Tales series could have happened if not for Cless"
Well actually even without Cless there would still be more Tales games. To start out, Cless is a common character archetype. The whole game doesn't rely on that single character. If the main character was a knight named Flynn or a swordsman named Luke, Phantasia would've still been great. So saying the sequels only happened because of Cless is simply wrong. And Symphonia improved upon all aspects of Phantasia, this you can't deny. :)
I meant that the sequels would've never happened without Phantasia, lawl.
Like how their would be no Dragonball Z without a Dragonball.
@Mdude123456789 Try spelling "doesn't" properly before pretending to lecture someone on English.
Oh wait.
Doesn't sound very similar to the same track in Tales of Symphonia...
THATGTSH SHWOE TOTOALYL GHYEY!
...Sorry
Was that supposed to be English?
I prefer the SNES version ^^
I fully agree. Lloyd is actually one of the least "human" main characters in Tales games if you think about it; it's like he's too perfect. it's true that he made one or two mistakes that, i SUPPOSE could help lead him towards thinking up his utopic ideals, but in reality, he's a bloody saint. And yeah, he compared to some other tales characters, he probably could have just relaxed at home in an armchair just as easily as deciding to wander off and save the world - as far as reasons go.
what...
Fuck THAT Lloyd forever!!!! but Phantasia was really really good though.
@Mdude123456789 @Dragonatrix u 2 should just stop arguing v.v
In my opinion, all the new Tales of games have terrible boss battle themes. None of them are catchy anymore. The earlier games have far better boss battle themes.
I agree except for one song. If it's for you ~Song 4 u~ from Xillia 2. That song is simply perfect
Cannot agree more with that one song for Xillia 2. Music from games like Abyss and Symphonia will always be best for me though. Music started to go wrong around about Vesperia, and it only got progressively worse as the games kept coming out.
No love for Wilderness of Sadness? :(. I can see the problem, but IMO tales boss battle themes tend to be worse than normal battle themes. This one is one of the exceptions + pretty much every single boss theme from symphonia.
I cannot agree anymore with that statement. :-P Idk about Abyss though. Awkward Justice is really good. And so is the 1st Van's boss theme.
I should have mentioned that that was only one I really liked from Xillia. :-P Everything else was really kinda meh. Especially those terrible boss themes. I mean, I get that they're trying to make it dramatic, but it just isn't catchy at all anymore!
@Dragonatrix swearing is everywhere, if you cant think of anything that sounds mature, instead you are putting yourself in a state where you look like an cretin. try using words that the opponent does'nt understand.
Every Tales character has their pros and cons.
Like how Luke to me, is one of the most useless hero ever for the first 3 quarter of the story, and then, major character development.
Luke? Unique? He a spoilt brat turned into a meta jrpg hero. That's hardly unique. That title should go to someone like Reid.
Lloyd > Cless. As much as I like Phantasia, Symphonia is the all time champion of the Tales series.
SNES version is better
