Now that we've stripped out all the old navigation, amp, DVD player and TV unit we're ready to install a new 4 channel amp with a bluetooth receiver and touchscreen android auto / carplay unit. Wired up to the original Range Rover TDV8 L322 speakers, it's going to sound and perform better than ever. We finally get the old head unit out (without remoiving the dash - my preferred choice) and set about identifying and grouping together all the speaker wires. This installation is pretty easy and looks like a factory fit when in.
NOTE: To achieve 4 channel installation you'll need to group the front and rear door speakers together.

Fantastic video. Well done. Only gripe for me is the Carpuride logo looks hideous on the dash. Really cheapens the whole thing.
You could get creative!
How? I don’t see how to remove without ruining the glass. Otherwise, it’s incredible unit and a really brilliant install.
If you take the dash top off the stereo comes out very easy
I know, I just didn't want to disturb it and be left with a creaky dash. But the option is there for others.
I’ve been waiting for this video since the strip out one. I’m confident you have solved the audio problem for l322 owners. I’ve got 3 of them and none of the audios work. I’ve bitten the bullet ordered the head unit and will be getting the rest from yourselves.
Really interesting to see the unit sending audio out via Bluetooth to the amp, definitely saves on messing with wires. Carpuride apparently make a remote control for that unit, I'm sure there's a way to make that work with the steering wheel controls, maybe with an adapter and wires soldered directly to the board of the remote.
I'll look into that remote!
Yep, great vid. Was waiting for this one. If mine passes it’s MOT then it’s getting treated to this setup
Brilliant job! I have a friend in Somerset with a 2005 Supercharged Range Rover with non functioning stereo, Nav etc due to the dreaded water damage. Unfortunately she also has a broken steering column which is another well known fault with these cars and is now looking for a Discovery. But I would have loved to do the same as what you have done to yours for her. Well done!
Very tempted to try this in my early defender.
I’ve fitted a lovely Sony unit to my 110. Makes so much difference, custom built the mount to fit double din screen and carlin switches, you can actually hear music in the old tin box!
doesnt blue tooth compress or degrade the signal
That all looks very complicated with all those wires, but the map part looks very nice, I doubt I will be fitting one of these though as in 6 years of driving my L322 I have never switched the radio/DVD/TV on, I just enjoy floating along in silence. Stay safe! Chris B.
Can you not get a remote for it
Wonder if that unit will fit in the 1.5DIN hole on the Disco 2? I currently have a fairly old 1 DIN unit with an ugly gap underneath.
You could mount it over the top quite flush but too big to slot in.
No need to apologise for Transvision Vamp...

Can you connect to the headrest tv's?
You could but there's no easy way to turn them on. Also tehy resolution on them is quite poor. May replace with fire tablets.
You can connect a reverse camera as well
Hopefully fitting one of these soon.
@@LRLiveUK I would love a video of you connecting the backup camera!! that would be awesome!
@@user-pg2uv8rq3l just did this yesterday. Will post soon
10:44 I'm going too assume that the video/ DVD function only works with the parking brake applied so that the driver doesn't get distracted whilst driving watching a film?
There is a lock you can put on that requires you to manually override it so that you can't watch films while driving.
Is the logo painted on the glass or under the glass??
Looks like its under the glass.
Wendy James !
Can you see the suspension settings etc
This will now be gone!
No you lose all the off road info but I can still see what settings I have selected via the selector display in the centre console. So not all that bad.
Are you going to hookup a sub eventually?
*And it's so responsive* while being totally unresponsive 😂
wow a nikon 1
Old school back up!
@@LRLiveUK nice, massively underrated kick off to mirrorless
Sad
Don't be sad!
