A graphically impressive game for a indie company. Edit: Guys, I was just saying it looks beautiful for a team I've never heard of. No need to nitpick.
I think this is graphically impressive for any developer, not just indies. If the gameplay holds up remains to be seen. Also variety can always be an issue. How many enemies are in the game and do they feel different enough (or are they just re-skins) through animation work amd AI behavior.
Which can be dangerous. People might expect a blockbuster from those beautiful graphics and be disappointed, when it isn't a 50+ hour open world overkill game.

You can crank out quality indie games, most just go for simpler art and graphics though. Also I think this is a great looking game period, not just "for an indie"

i think nowadays most triple A games focus more on delivering faster for faster income but with less quality, meanwhile indie developers put more passion into their games
difference is, AAA games are created wastefully. Just look at kingdome come deliverance. They created an epic game with gorgeous graphics and good story, with only a fraction of the costs. CEOs like our fucker Bobbie are the problem.

What I'm loving so far about this new gen of game titles is, it feels like back when ps1 was transitioning to ps2, where these kinds of games were bringing a variety to the platform. Variety is so important. Like Ratchet and Clank a Rift apart, this looks gorgeous like an animated movie. It's so much work to make games guys, and we have to give it up to the devs for pushing the envelope
This is refreshing to see, a game that looks and plays like a game. No battle royal bs just a straight up visual feast, interesting story, basic platforming elements & decent combat. Reminds me of good old jak & daxter
Apart from the phenomenal graphic and presentation, I hope this game has a satisfying amount of content. The linear nature of the map shown in this and how much the character interact with the world felt a bit on the underwhelming side.
Yeh agreed. Is my only worry too. The thing with so many of these single player experience is, i'd like to journey through the adventure with other people or Interact with NPCs etc i have good faith as only a little of what we have seen!

It's a trap of big budget games I guess. You need better resources in time and man power to compete, so you need to pay more, and so you need to do anything to make sure the game sell well and somehow become a vicious loop. But I'll still wait for actual review of this game first. I don't mind the main linearity or easy combat, but please have enough content to make my stay in that amazing looking/sounding place worthwhile.
yeah it just seems very pretty but very plain, there's no interesting new ideas i see here, the spirits themselves seem to do nothing other than look cute and lift up statues. I may pirate it first to see how it is before buying it

I love BG&E's aesthetics, it's a bit of a bummer the sequel went full-on realistic graphics (It clicks with the game's vibe and narrative becoming darker and more mature though, so it's for the better, ig). But it just feels so refreshing to see games like Kena! This one feels like a Pixar cartoon has become a game, I dig it so much. ^-^ It's insane the devs' team consists of just 15 people. They must be wizards!
@kishenkoolskills90 it's still in development but it doesn't seems like anything you would hope from a beyond good & evil sequel. Jade will be in the game but that's alll. It looks like a generic open world game without the characters and the charm.
It would be nice ... but unfortunately not a single ps5 exclusive game is currently running in native 4k with 60fps !!! Unfortunately it is always said in advance 4k with 60fps RE8, Metro exodus, spiderman, returnal, demon's souls.etc .. But as I said, it would be nice✌🏻👌🏻

Kena Bridge of spirits, Rogue Company, Fortnite, For honor, RE8, FF7 remake, Dead by Daylight, Crash 4, Borderlands 3, Sack Boy a big adventure, Valhalla, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone & Rocket League. I'm sure there are more titles but these games have been confirmed to run at 4K 60fps! Happy gaming 🙂✌️
I'm looking forward to this, but it looks like it's missing something, maybe it just seems a little too empty I don't know. Like there should be enemies filling the environment or something.
Well one thought I had was the animation. Some modern games add a bit of random variance to the way a character moves to make it look more realistic. I think that would add a little something to just push the visuals a bit further.
There is a lack of animals to bring life to this forest. With such a forest, it is surprising that we do not see a few animals here and there ... to simulate an ecosystem, just to show that the forest is not empty of life. After that I am aware that it is an independent game.
Pre ordering Cyberpunk was an IQ test. You failed, as did many people. Anyone with common sense could tell they were hyping the game up to heaven as soon as the first few gameplay videos came out a long long time before release. And yes, I have 9999 IQ. Come at me.
I hope they will add more Kena animations in the final game, the way she moves is kinda weird sometimes when she stops walking. But other than that it looks so good
Its extremely expensive man. That's why you have a lot of open world games with extremely simplistic enemy animations. I know its not open world but they probably spent their budget on the visuals and the enemy animations and Kena combat animation Instead of something that trivial.
Sometime's you can just tell how good a game is going to be by the gameplay itself and the care put into it. This is going to be a good one, I know it! If the story isn't the best, at least the combat will be really fun!
I disagree I think the combat will get boring and repetitive fast. I can handle a bad story but the overall objectives of the game look kinda boring in my opinion.
its also depends on the stuff we dont get to see is there a char progression system or item upgrade thing in the game or getting new item zelda style that change combat that often makes a game better aswell if you get everything from the start it gona feel repetitive fast
This game looks really boring, the enemies are very little aggressive and looks like you can just spam arrows from a distance to kill everyone of them. Maybe there is a higher difficult that fix the AI but even so the combat looks very simplistic and braindead...

This looks like a charming, Indie reinvisioning of the HZD foundation. Bow + Staff combat focused on precision aiming and timing, a focus on harnessing creatures' powers, badass female protagonist. I'm in!
@Bumble Bee It didn't even get a remaster, some things literally looked worse and the game couldn't even handle a smooth 60fps on my pc. The original not only looks btter but runs at well above 200fps
As someone who is a spiritualist that does ceremonies, I find it very funny and interesting to see someone do a game plot that is actually something so similar to my families ways. Very cool.

I’m hoping we get some form of character customization like unlock able costumes, hairstyles, color variations. That’s my favorite part of third person games is to change up the character.

It looks absolutely stunning - when this was revealed among the first PS5 titles I was like "yeah, pretty good start for the next gen". My critical side wants to see flaws, which no doubt will be there, but I think overall it'll be a great game. I can see many people who are kids today will play this and have nostalgia for it for years to come. Got that special kinda vibe to it. Consider it bought.
I have not enjoyed a game like this for along time .. beautiful graphics .. amazing adventure full of alot of wonderful moments .. i recommend it for whom ever wanna have a fun time.

Part of me wishes that the Protagonist was the only human character in the game and there was zero spoken dialogue. The only sounds being music, sound effects and the ambience of an enchanted forest. Also the fox mask shot at the beginning is way too cool.

there are times i want to know if a new game have a char progression skill tree? is it like other games u get new ability in new zone you walk in? item upgrades progression, the char got everything at start of the game? is it only finding more pikmins? like zelda finding a new items to progress? game looks amazing but feels like we always miss 1 gameplay angle without getting these type of question out
The studio behind the game has also created a Zelda Majora's Mask animation, so they probably have Zelda as an inspiration for Kena too. And I love that.

Pre ordering Cyberpunk was an IQ test. You failed, as did many people. Anyone with common sense could tell they were hyping the game up to heaven as soon as the first few gameplay videos came out a long long time before release. And yes, I have 9999 IQ. Come at me.

I hope they will add more Kena animations in the final game, the way she moves is kinda weird sometimes when she stops walking. But other than that it looks so good
My biggest issue is this. When she stops walking she becomes a statue. No fluid motion into her coming to a stop.
Its extremely expensive man. That's why you have a lot of open world games with extremely simplistic enemy animations. I know its not open world but they probably spent their budget on the visuals and the enemy animations and Kena combat animation Instead of something that trivial.

This game looks really boring, the enemies are very little aggressive and looks like you can just spam arrows from a distance to kill everyone of them. Maybe there is a higher difficult that fix the AI but even so the combat looks very simplistic and braindead...

I’m hoping we get some form of character customization like unlock able costumes, hairstyles, color variations. That’s my favorite part of third person games is to change up the character.

It looks absolutely stunning - when this was revealed among the first PS5 titles I was like "yeah, pretty good start for the next gen".
My critical side wants to see flaws, which no doubt will be there, but I think overall it'll be a great game.

Man. This game is absolutely amazing on another level. I still cant fathom how Sony are even contemplating allowing this game to go multiplatform. These are extremely talented animators, programers, and story tellers. This is Disney animation quality that Sony should be saying: This is the kind of quality we want associated with PlayStation and youll ever ONLY FIND IT ON PLAYSTATION. How are they even having to think about this? ACQUIRE EMBER LABS! You dont want Microsoft to be able to acquire them, or Nintendo.

Part of me wishes that the Protagonist was the only human character in the game and there was zero spoken dialogue. The only sounds being music, sound effects and the ambience of an enchanted forest. Also the fox mask shot at the beginning is way too cool.

The studio behind the game has also created a Zelda Majora's Mask animation, so they probably have Zelda as an inspiration for Kena too. And I love that.
