The National Museum of Cambodia, located in Phnom Penh, is the country’s largest museum of cultural history and its leading historical and archaeological museum. It houses one of the world’s greatest collections of Khmer cultural material, including sculpture, ceramics, and ethnographic objects from the prehistoric, pre-Angkorian, Angkorian, and post-Angkorian periods.
The museum is situated on Street 13 in central Phnom Penh, next to the Royal Palace. It was constructed between 1917 and 1924 and officially inaugurated in 19201. The museum buildings, inspired by Khmer temple architecture, were designed by George Groslier, a historian, curator, and author who was instrumental in reviving interest in traditional Cambodian arts and crafts.
The National Museum of Cambodia promotes awareness, understanding, and appreciation of Cambodia’s heritage through the presentation, conservation, safekeeping, interpretation, and acquisition of Cambodian cultural material2. It aims to educate and inspire its visitors. The museum is under the authority of the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.
The museum is open daily from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, with last admission tickets sold at 4:30 pm3. It is a must-visit for anyone interested in Cambodian history and culture.

It would be very nice if the museum’s ticket include a portable-recorded-explanation of each items in this beautiful museum (in English at least). It will attract more visitors.

When I went to museum in the state the status talk to me like a computer. I was in different areas the status said hey come here I don’t need to look on the writing in the front of the status I already know from Cambodia.
