Eddie Burret is a so cool character, she deserves to be better known and to have more fan art.
I love these sort of reboots of classic Japanese IP's. They always turn a basic premise game into this insane 90s anime OVA tier experience.
Imagine they made an anime of this from Edie's perspective...
Also including how she joined the squad and what the crew gets up to when they are not on missions...
Wouldn't that be interesting...?
When someone recommended elevator action to me I chucked. Now I just WANT!
Elevator Action Returns and Keio Flying Squadron 2 were some games i've missed out man…
Played this today, after hooking up my Saturn for the first time in many years. Solid game, still enjoyable today. This game always reminded me a bit of the Rolling Thunder games. Nice to have the original Elevator Action on the disk as well.
Taito's arcade games are some of the very best. EAR is no exception.
EAR? WTFAYS STFU LMFAO ROF MD DS LAPD USA ASAP
I used to play this game after school so many years ago. I loved it. I was able to make it to the last stage but always died and had no more quarters.
This gots to be one of THE Best Saturn Imports to own!! The action & everything on it is excellent imho!
Strong reason to own Saturn
Edie sure is a popular character to play as. Bah who am I kidding, I use her most of the time when I either play it on my Saturn, or I fire up either the US or Japanese Taito collections on the PS2.
She's a cutie, but she'll kick your ass and pistol whip you if you get too close.
For the saturn version do u need that converter that looks like a nintendo cartidge?
@@jasoncompian1612 The Action Replay Plus 4MB in 1 cart is the weapon of choice to play this on non Japanese Saturns.
vermilion sun!!!
0:57 Hold on:
*Dessert* Eagle?
Hmmm..
Dessert Eagle. The perfect way to end a dinner ti- *gets shot*
Don't forget the world-famous Glog 18 or the Berltta M92F.
i'm pretty surprised, i've never heard of it before. the original for nes was so colorful and reminds me of my childhood. This game is awesome, but a little dark and violent
I don't think it made it to the States.
Made in Japan, just like the original. Taito probably figured to cater the game to the original players (who were older by then), and with technology, they turned the game from fun innocent romp, into even funner, but darker romp. I can't complain, I enjoy this game, Code Name Viper, and the Rolling Thunder games.
@@MrOrthopedia The Sega Saturn port was a Japanese exclusive. The arcade version on the other hand was released internationally.
A great game for the SEGA Saturn.
The animation is so good.
This looks awesome, I've never heard of this one.
I don't think it ever made it stateside.
@@MrOrthopedia In arcades it did, but I never saw it in arcades in my area, just the original game.
Hot damn this looks great! I remember the NES version of Elevator Action totally blew.
NES Elevator Action despite being done by Micronics, is actuially not bad at all.
Man, i remember how funny and innocent the first one was, now all that blood and death...
The dog death animations are saddening
@@yurihageshi8008 The dogs don't die though, they just stop attacking and disappear. I think this was done on purpose as to not upset people with the killing of the dogs. Similar thing was done in NARC, the human enemies had bloody die animations but the dogs would just run away.
That's a real step up from the NES Elevator Action o_o
You do realize the original game started it's life in arcades right?
Interesting looking game!
Edie is hot!!!
Level 2 she made the Kobe entrance!
I have this Jamma board. It's a fun game
2:03-2:05 cool fire dancin'!
0:56- Jad's chosen weapon is the Dessert Eagle, I notice. I wonder how many glacier cherries fit into the magazine?
2:47 Did not see that coming.
No he didn't
Maybe the heroes escaped the explosion... Maybe.
Incredibly accurate zapper?
To everyone who has ever said that fire and/or exploding grenades know no friends:
_Elevator Action Returns_ says that you can suck it. ;-p
u can get this on ps2 tatios arcade collection vol 2
Yes it is, but it has a bug. If you shoot out the lights, you don't get double the points from items or shooting bad guys. This port does give you less grenades to start with than the PS2 or arcade versions. Not sure if EAR on Taito Memories has the lights out problem that the US version bears though. I have the Japanese collection it's on, but have not tested it out to see if the bug exists there too.
The Saturn port though expensive, is still a great port of the arcade game. My friend got it for me for $20, that was just pure luck, even a few years ago.
The Japanese version (Taito Memories volume 1) fixes stability issues (Framerate). Not sure about the lights though...
Scoop!
lucky the fire don't hurt the player
Glock 17 ftw
why this game so fucking expensive?
what the fuck
Woow!!.execellent game 🤘😝
This soundtrack was so sexy
