Smile 2 damn near had me feeling the fear of a literal droptower at times. Wont be seeing it again alone ever, but it was a very memorable horror experience.
i went into the first one expecting it to be another corny horror film, but it ended up having having a deeper plot than expected with crazy twists and solid jumpscares not to mention the smile demon at the end😭 i went into the 2nd one expecting it to be worse but again i thought it picked up so well. im really excited for the 3rd one!
It was mildly scary. Basically the same movie as the first with its scares. All the ppl following her in the hallway was the best part, didn’t find too much else actually scary other than some jump scared
@@kiaadams104 They’re supposed to be disturbing and gross. The terrifier movies are really good at having a scary character good characters and all that.
‘Smile 2’, as far as actually feeling scared goes, delivered. I was clutching my jacket the whole time. It’s been a while since a horror has done that. Acting was superb, music was a bop, scares were both unexpected and nasty. Loved it. I’d probably put it on S-Tier alongside “The Substance.”
loved terrifier and smile 2. saw both in theatres with my friends and they were fun movies. terrifier has some shocking scenes that will have you jaw-dropped, and smile 2 is creepy from start to finish.
Salem's Lot would literally be my least anticipated Steven King book turned movie. I've never remotely felt that vampires were scary or zombies (except 28 Days Later which breaks a lot of the tropes of zombie movies)
I had the same thought about Smile, I didn’t particularly like it and thought it was typical horror but my friend really wanted to see smile 2 together in theaters, I really liked it so much actually I think it’s much much better
Doing a drinking game while watching smile 2 for the 2nd time. Every time a Voss bottle appears you drink. Liked the movie but the product placement was ridiculous
I cant understand why it upsets ppl after its not even doing anything. Its just water. They r promoting it. Theres nothing bad in it so i dont get whats so wrong. Its not as if they r making yall buy it. Most of the times it wasnt even noticeable
Anyone who prefers Terrifier 3 over Smile 2 just doesn’t get real horror. They’re probably just trying to be edgy, more interested in shock value and gore than in actual storytelling, plot, tension, or psychological depth. Smile 2 delivers all the layers that make horror impactful, while Terrifier 3 is just surface-level shock. Real horror fans know there’s more to the genre than blood and gore.
I just watched madS off of your recommendation. Hadn’t heard of it yet. I thought it was f*cking awesome. One of my fav horror movies I’ve seen this year and I’ve seen a lot of them
I would recommend watching Smile first because it explains what the "Smile" is. It's technically not necessary, you could watch Smile 2 and still have a good time but you might be confused on how the whole Smile thing works. Smile 1 I remember having good jump scares but I think the jump scares are better in 2. I hope you enjoy them! They're a lot of fun!
I will warn you that if you watch Smile 1 RIGHT before SMile 2...a bit of Smile 2 might feel like a rehash and "samey" So that's just a warning. I dont think thats necessarily a fault of Smile 2, just more an issue with watching two movies that are similar in such close proximity. That's how I felt at least.
I actually haven’t watched any horror movies i really watch clips i guess alot of people say for me scream 1 is a good start off but i want your opinion.
Scream is an excellent place to start. It's a very fun commercial horror flick. However, what makes Scream so fun is that it references and calls out MANY other horror films. So I guess, if you don't care about references going over your head then I'd say start with Scream, if you do want to understand all the references I'd start with some of the older Horror films. Examples would be: The Exorcist, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th. If you'd rather watch something more modern I'd suggest going through A24's horror catalog, movies such as: Hereditary, The Witch, Talk to Me, Midsommar, It Follows, and Saint Maud. In any case, the world is your oyster. Have fun and get scared :)
I was really excited to watch Terrifier 3 as I've watched the first and second two years in a row on Halloween with friends. Personally, I was a little disappointed though. I feel like there isn't really any scary parts that kept me on the edge of my seat like the other movies, instead it was mostly just gore. The ending was also not my cup of tea, as I'm not really a fan of movies that turn more "unreal supernatural" if you get what I mean
Terrifier over Smile 2? Nah, that’s crazy. Terrifier is just straight-up gore with no real plot or depth-it's about shock value, not storytelling. Sure, if that’s all you’re looking for, then fine, but a good horror movie goes beyond blood and guts. Smile 2 actually builds tension, messes with your head, and explores deeper themes. It’s not just about jumpscares or violence; it taps into psychological horror and leaves you thinking long after the credits roll. Smile 2 actually understands the horror genre beyond just splatter-fests. I'm sorry but , again , putting a movie which is only about a clown killing people in gory ways over Smille 2 it's actually crazy.
What about terrifier puts it in the s tier above like smile 2? Smile 2 is exactly where i would put it as well, but are those movies actually well made movies or is it the the disturbing gore parts that rate it higher than just a good quality horror movie?
I feel like people confuse shock value movies with good movies. There is no universe where any of the terrifier movies would be above smile 2 in terms of directing, script, cinematography and atmosphere
Can someone please explain the appeal of terrifier? To me it's just shock factor, and it serves no purpose. Gore for the sake of it being gore, nothing else. Predictable and at times boring IMO. So what do you guys see in it? Help me understand. 🙏🏼
It’s not just about the gore. The gore (at least for me) is an overhyped aspect of the films imo. What makes Terrifier great is how it’s simultaneously disturbing, creepy, hilarious, and yes very gory, all at once. It combines all of these elements so seamlessly that it creates a truly iconic film series. For me what makes Terrifier great is the genuinely creepy moments as well as the comedic relief that breaks up the tension of the ridiculous levels of gore. At some points it is so ridiculously gory that it’s hard to take seriously and it ends up becoming funny.
The appeal to me is art the clown himself. He’s just a super well crafted modern slasher that combines all my favourite elements of other slashers like Michael myers, Freddy Krueger and all them. And seeing as slasher movies are my favourite horror movies, the terrifier franchise is the perfect modern adaptation of slashers we really haven’t seen since the 90s
they’re generally just fun films to watch regardless of whether you’re into gore or not. art the clown has a distinct character and he can be quite funny and entertaining sometimes despite the diabolical things he does. all the actors in general are great, especially sienna. terrifier doesn’t try to be anything it’s not, and it stands out because it’s the most visceral and over the top film of its kind.
Because it’s a scary character with horrifying looks good characters and plot and he’s a very cruel character who doesn’t really have a motive he just likes what he does which is more scary to me. Art the clown is more of a humorous character as well. He’s not some being devoid of any emotion. The movies are meant to be disturbing and gross just like it’s also supposed to be scary. Most horror movies are just a person killing someone with a knife and people being scared. Terrifier is different from other horror movies and more unique. I personally like the story and background of the characters and it leaves some questions to be solved. Plus the killer is creative and has many methods and different weapons. Terrifier doesn’t follow the usual rules of horror movies. I’m not sure if I explained it well it’s maybe just a jumble of words but yeah.
Yeah the show is Dark. I was struggling to say it in the video because I wanted to allow people to enjoy Caddo Lake without the comparison. Dark is so so good! I even enjoyed their follow up, the one about the ship. I think it was called 1887? Or something like that
@@reelwatkins 1899, it was a shame it got cancelled as was an interesting premise - although they let us know fairly early on about the simulation aspects, which I think should have been a bit more of a slow burn (although would have made it less watchable as a stand alone season).
Everybody sayin smile 2 better than Terrifier 3 but Terrifier 3 ain’t a Hollywood movie it’s its own movie that made success that’s why Terrifier better…. But Arts just him…
Wait, so you’re rating Terrifier 3 over Smile 2 just because it’s not a 'Hollywood movie' and managed to be successful? That’s got nothing to do with the quality of the film itself. Budget and success don’t make up for a lack of plot or substance. Horror is about delivering real scares and tension, not just a gore-fest with a cult following. If we're talking about quality horror, Smile 2 delivers on way more levels. But hey, if you think low budget equals better film, then I guess we’re judging by two completely different standards.
