Another interesting thing about this song is that they purposely speed it up as it goes along. It finishes around 8 clicks faster on the metronome than the speed it starts at, i believe
BEATLES sound, BEATLES tempo, BEATLES rhythm, BEATLES instrumentation, BEATLES orchestration, BEATLES arrangement; the BEATLES influence (post-'Revolver') is fully assumed here... and the song is magnificent!
Another group I am happy to have turned you on to with "Everybody Wants To Rule The World". Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal are a very talented duo and produced some seriously good stuff with serious issues in the lyrics....do... Head Over Heels.
Great pick. I can't even put into words how much I love this group. I just saw them last summer and they were as good as ever. They released a new record also. But I'm sure you knew that! Even as popular as they are, they are still underrated.
Incredible song. Very Beatles like as I'm sure others will explain. Would love to see you do more Bowie. Hello Spaceboy by him would be interesting. Cheers!
I love these two!!! They knew way back in the 80's that the people hold the power....not government. They saw what was coming long ago. Genius!! God help us all! God is the only answer. Pray because too many people are still asleep!!
You did a great interpretation and explanation on the lyrics, you hit it on the spot, that's why I like watching your reaction videos, you make great points
One of their better songs, and among their most iconic. Also among their best: "Pale Shelter", "Shout", "Mothers Talk" (album version), "Head Over Heels/Listen" (album version has the full medley), "Year Of The Knife", "Johnny Panic And The Bible Of Dreams", "Elemental", "Raoul And The Kings Of Spain", "Humdrum And Humble", "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending", "Call Me Mellow", "Who Killed Tangerine", "Secret Wiorld", "Killing With Kindness", "Ladybird", "Last Days On Earth", "The Tipping Point", and "My Demons".
Brilliant deduction but big money is always going to try to keep us divided they're doing it right now and they're going to do it forever I don't have the solution I hope somebody figures it out soon❤
Another British pop rock/ new wave band that were popular around a couple years earlier than 'Tears for Fears' was formed is 'Sniff 'n' the Tears' with their international smash hit single "Drivers Seat" released back in 1978 that might be worth checking out. At any rate, the song has a interesting rhythm and the instrumentation with the moderate keyboard solo near the end is hot. 💫🎤🎸🎹🥁🔊🔥🎧
Boring & predicable remark from someone who clearly hasn't heard many Beatles songs. This is a great song in its own rights, and the Fabs never recorded anything remotely like this.
The Tears For Fears song that you absolutely must listen to is called "Woman In Chains." It's an incredible track with a great vocal contribution by jazz singer Oleta Adams, an amazing multi-layered production, a positive message, etc. It's another one of their best songs and well worth your attention.

Love this group. They always have great messages in their songs. Your reaction was great.
"Woman In Chains", "Mad World", "Shout", "Head Over Heels".

Insightful take on the lyrics. You're a bright young man.
That's a brilliant track and they do it just as well live now as they did back in the day.
Songs from the Big Chair is their most popular album.

Tears for Fears' newest album, The Tipping Point, is worth a listen, too. 80s voice but updated sound.
Musically, a great homage to The Beatles. Lyrically, savaging Britain's Thatcher government in the 1980's.
Great song and great band !
Incredible song. Very Beatles like as I'm sure others will explain. Would love to see you do more Bowie. Hello Spaceboy by him would be interesting. Cheers!
The Beatles influence is strong.
Nothing at all wrong with that.
The Beatles influenced EVERYONE.
@TheCornishCockney .....just goes to show us there tone and sound are relevant to this day.
"There are no problems, only solutions" - John Lennon
Great review!
this band had a short span on the charts, a few years, but they put out some quality music.
The ‘Granny ‘ is Margaret Thatcher.

Went to their concert! Unbelievable What talent
The greatest Beetles song they never wrote !
Cool video for this song
Can you please react to Closest thing to heaven by Tears for fears, music video request plz 😊
The video is unsurprisingly drenched in symbolism….
Illuminati , guess that’s the most obvious
This song is a musical masterpiece with a powerful message.
Great summary!
My favorite of their many great tracks - the list of similarly great 80s bands is so long.
Always loved how they poked Paul Weller on this.
A Master Piece Off A Review...🥇.✋
Gee I just woke up from a nap is that a new Beatles song I just heard😊❤

I LOVE THIS SONG. 😁💖
Great tune
