Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am showing you the differences between Chameleon flakes and powders.
After having a couple of conversations recently with fellow crafters who had got completely confused with the flakes, I decided to show you the differences.
Although they both do the same things, they also do different things and the effects are different. so I purchased a box of both types from Let's resin (on Amazon) and have put together a video showing the colours in the packs and the effects they create.
When I was learning all this, I would have loved to see this video. So I really hope you enjoy it and hope it inspires you to get creative. I have linked everything below for you to try this yourselves.
If you have any comments, questions or Ideas please use the comment section below and I will get back to you.
    Thanks for watching

This is a Great video and I have got both of these! And I notice right of the difference of what could be done and the flakes are so beautiful but do is the powder. The flakes just have to be used only with a brush is the difference. Thanks again for this great video

Thanks for the video. I’ve used both flakes and powder, but never side by side like you did. Nice to see the difference side by side. I love the flakes but you are so right, hard to work with. One tip for anyone using them. Static is the enemy!😄 when using flakes, I make sure to have a dryer sheet right beside me. I wipe my hand, brush, mold, and container before opening it. It’s not perfect, but cuts down the “flying flake” effect somewhat. Thanks again for your great videos.

Just got these. But I got a box of flakes and a single jar of powder. I like both the flakes won’t last if u use them the same way as you use the powder I tried just brushing the flakes in random spots for the effects. Then resin with black works nicely. 👍

    • @Toonpish

Hi Clare, did you see the bit in the video where I did that?
You could use the flakes in resin with anything colour, such as white which would show them up.
But it would be more like glitter
There is a comment about mixing flakes with isopropyl alcohol.
I’ve not tried that so no idea if it works 🤷‍♀️

But I now have a curtain as the sunshine was making the room far too hot for me.
The combination is a great idea 😀😀
      I might give that a go 👍❤️

      Thank you so much Linda.
I bought them from Amazon uk.
They are not great quality so I wouldn’t recommend them.
Some of them are not flat most I had to trim the back up.
I will drop the link in if you want though
      😀👍❤️

The flakes are more like chopped up foils aren’t they.

Well the powder is more versatile and cheeper but the flakes are more dynamic.
      It’s really a personal choice 🤔
I use both for different applications 😀👍😊
