I don't think that Big L was murdered accidentally because of a mistaken identity (his brother). He was trying to make it big rapping, but he was actually involved in some street stuff. His brother (Big Lee) was part of a crew (NFL Crew) that would setup and rob drug dealers. That includes drug dealers that Big L knew, and he would let the crew know their location. Apparently he found out that someone was helping to hide the guy who killed his brother. He threatened to kill the guy and the guy ended up killing him. Big L's killer got locked up around that time for something else. He got out of jail in 2015 and moved back to that same area where Big L was killed. Then he was killed in 2016. Word is that it was Big L/Big Lee's people, but I don't know how official that is. It didn't stop there though. In 2019, Big Lee's son (Big L's nephew) was killed as retaliation. Cameron was in a crew (Children Of The Corn) with Big L, and they were good friends in the 90's. Cam went to the funeral of Big L's killer because he knew him as well. He actually spit a freestyle shortly after because people were calling him out asking why he would go to the funeral of the guy that murdered his friend Big L.
