Rick
Rick is a great drummer and teacher…he saved my drum life in just a few lessons. Monster chops.
Rick has such beautiful drum technique. Good as it gets!
Agreed, his hands are wonderful. First time I saw him play I was blown away.
One of the smoothest pocket drummers of all time.
Nice fill! Yes uses it to open Almost Like Love.

Mr. Latham is just always very inspirational. I still remember and still have the cassette he gave out at a drum clinic sometime in the mid 90's here in South East Texas. Thanks Rick for the killer grooves!
Hey nice Fill- Inn at 3:11-3:14 …coool stuff! :)
Thanks you very very much!!!! You are an excellent Drummer!!!!
superbbbb
groovy........excelent........
yeah that is a great lick my friend 🥁
Good job
Love the sound of the kit on this. Excellent fills too.
Can you confirm, at 1.30, that is:- 6 stroke roll/3 stroke Ruff + 6 stroke roll/3 stroke ruff+ 6 stroke roll, with the first accent of the 6 stroke rolls on the toms. So, as these are 16th note triplets. That equals 1 bar fill?
Sounds brilliant!
you always sound great, but, let me say you're lookin great too!
rock steady brother
🙏
schön vorm frühstück noch ne kleine drumsession...siehe schlafanzug!:-D
I came up with this rudiment on my own! I called it the Inverted Left-Handed Parradiddlediddle, because it starts on the second hit of a left handed paradiddlediddle: R L L R R L R -> L R L L R R L. Playing in the marching band taught me parradiddlediddles which are cool for dividing the whole thing into three (RL RR LL) but I started playing the Inverted Left-Handed Parradiddlediddles because it’s better for dividing into two (RLL RRL). The name isn’t the best but I only ever use it to myself, but I think it’s better than “6-Stroke Roll” because using the naming conventions of 3-stroke rolls (RRL LLR), 5-stroke rolls (RRLLR LLRRL), 9-stroke rolls (RRLLRRLLR LLRRLLRRL), etc, it would be (RRLLRR LLRRLL) which would be groupings of 5, as cool as they are.
Always thought that Rick looks like Cam from modern family. Interesting fact, he’s also a drummer.
Used to go see Edgar Winters just to see Rick drum to Frankenstein.
what hi hats are that??
What crashes are u using ?
I use and endorse Istanbul Mehmet Cymbals... the crashes in this video are a 17" Traditional on my right side and an 18 Traditional on my left. Thanks for watching. R
Awesome, I can't believe 4 clowns have disliked this........oh well, back to triangle for you lot!
The second time it's RLL-RRL-RLL? or RRL-RLL-RRL?
I can´t see how it is in the video.
No it's not, a six stroke roll is RLLRRL with the accent in 1 and 6... RllrrL RllrrL RllrrL RllrrL (capital letter is the accent), six notes in one time
Carlos you are correct, I'm playing a six Stroke and then modifying it for the Tom Fill........
Alejandro Fagundez
Alejandro, you are also correct.......the basic six stroke roll is RLLRRL with accents on first and sixth stroke.......exactly.......Groove On Guys
Nice, thank you Rick
Hi Carlos, the first sticking you write is right - Rll rrL Rll ,.. whatever, you can play the second variation that will probably bring you different accents :)
for your audio commentary, that is....great rolls though
volume issues sir
so... this is a Rick Roll?
I cant hear what he is saying
Can't hear you speak! You should get a little voice mic :)
horrible audio quality on this. Get some mics and a nice mixer
