I love the idea of building these kits OOTB, showing us not just the detail of the kits but also how well (or not) it fits together. I for one am very happy you are doing this series and hope you continue!
@@MMScaleModelsgreat work on this finished model also! I have started this kit but needed to wait until I got all of the correct paints for interior and camo scheme :)
This type of format is what we most need in the modelling world, showing how vanilla kits can be built with no additional upgrades. Especially for new enthusiasts not looking to get full in on a kit with upgrades and simply want to enjoy the kit as is brought in the box. Great video, I wish to see more of these.
Great honest commentary!!! I enjoyed your build. Most, if not all P-47 kit manufacturers, forget that this airplane had a ring and bead gun sight as well. The ring sight was located to the left of the instrument panel and the bead was located about 1 meter from the windscreen. In 1/32 this is obvious. In 1/48, it should still be obvious!!!! Scale photo etch is hard to come by, but any kit manufacturer in this day and age, should try to include it Again, very nice build and will look forward to your next!!!
The ring was placed on the gun sight s front but not all of them had either that or the bead, even on the same block-variant,deleted after D-28 completely
I think that this is a very useful format. It's nice to see something built out of the box to such a high standard. I hope you continue to build some more models this way.
I really like the "Out of the box" builds as at 60 years old, PE sets are a pain in my back side as I do not solder very well. Great review and keep them coming! Thank you!!
You are a true encyclopedia in Modeling...it seems that a new trend is taking hold in which new brands release very detailed models that do not need aftermarkets and at affordable prices; I follow your processes step by step on Patreon and I think these works you do with OOB models are great, since they are very old school, when aftermarkets did not exist. A really outstanding job dude!!
This is the definitive online build of this kit. I see others have tried in the forums and people complain so much about it. But you have shown that all of its problems can be overcome with just some careful trimming of the parts, and removal of the draft angles.
A great video, inspirational, and with loads of good modelling tips - with only an airbrush, fine brushes, inexpensive micro-tools combined with methodical use of technique, everyone can create something wonderful and exciting.
OOB build and reviews are brilliant! As an amatuer modeller its great to how the kits look without endless hours of modifications to improve them that im never going to do
I think the idea of building models out of the box is an excellent one. Please continue doing that. This kit build, as with all you builds, is spectacular.
Reviews out of the box is very important, because it shows the real level of manufacturer's mastery. So, yes, I would love to watch this kind of videos.
Really enjoyed watching the build, fantastic model and great video. I was on the edge of my seat watching you apply the decals for the nose checkering!
Magnificent review-build - the first I have seen of this finely detailed kit. The OOB approach is sound, as well as the presentation. Extra interest is provided by your comprehensive grasp of modelling skills and techniques. It all adds upp to an enthralling build with an outstanding result! Love it!
Your "trimming & fitting" skills are exceptional and your subtle weathering is remarkably realistic. Brilliant build! (Those molded in seatbelts look ultra convincing as well with your excellent shadow work)!
Finally, someone doing an oob review. I'm here for that. I really like the format but also enjoy seeing what you do scratch building wise.Overall an awesome result and cant wait for the Razorback version(My favorite)cheers from New Zealand
I enjoyed watching the sequence of this build and the format outlines each stage of the process, Metodi. I'd be very happy to see further similar formats should you continue in the future. Excellent result by the way.
Tip for your dislike of the glossy finish of Tamiya X-19 Smoke…add a little X-21 Flat Base. It makes the finish flat. Add light or dark colours to the mix if you wish to vary the colour of the exhaust staining or gun residue.
Very nice build, am a big fan of 1/48 P-47 models. I like OOB build videos as a true gauge of what the model build consists of. IMO many get carried away with the amount of aftermarket they apply which is fine for those that are interested in such an approach but I feel this distorts the build for those of us that aren't interested or can't afford aftermarket.
Thank You! That is true, often times not a lot is left from the original kit, which is awesome in t's own right but cannot serve as evaluation tool for the kit itself.
Watched this whole video from start to finish. Thank you for going into such detail about the build process and techniques used. You also gave a great understanding of what to expect from the kit. Rarely do I see true out of the box builds on UA-cam and it was great seeing what can be done with just the parts included in the kit. Looking forward to what you have next!
Please continue this style of build review! Especially for a new kit, I think it's far more valuable to show the strengths and weaknesses (and fixes) of the base kit. Understanding the oob kit only helps in deciding whether to use aftermarket or scratch build. I do love super detailed builds, too, though - just not in the context of a kit review. Keep up the great work!
What a fantastic build. I really like the fact you’re explaining everything clearly as you go, also I prefer the full hour long length build format than lots of short drawn out videos. Keep this new format please!. Can’t wait to see your next built!.
I absolutely prefer an out of the box review. It’s ok to mention specific aftermarket that would be helpful, but I’m really only interested in what’s in the box, how it goes together, and how nice you made it come out. Nicely done and thank you
Sweet!🤗 I used this preshading technique you show on an old Monogram B26 & it came out AMAZING! It's time consuming but SO worth it on an OD & Grey paint scheme like this...
Well done! Pointing out techniques which were not necessarily successful is appreciated, especially when you offer a possible explanation of why something didn’t work out. Beautiful model!
What a great build. I really appreciate your honesty on this too, we all learn and grow with the hobby. I've learnt a lot, thank you! I have subscribed too..
The video format is excellent. Not everyone has the ability or tools to scratch build parts, so the straight out of the box build is an excellent idea.
Absolutely beautiful build. Sorry for your troubles though. I've seen a couple of other build videos of this kit with similar complaints. I'm currently finishing the Tamiya P-47D and have no complaints. The Miniart kit has much finer surface detail but it seems the Tamiya variety offers their usual ease of build. I like the fact that the engine in the Miniart kit is so detailed, would be cool to have an opened panel on it to show it off. For the guns and the antenna, the builder could cut off the stops on the guns and glue that inside and then use metal tubes for the barrels, and block off the inside for the antenna hole, and then cut off the square base of the antenna so that you could just slide it in when done. Seems weird to engineer them like that.
I do like this format. This makes so much sense. I have only seen this format from 2 other presenters. This definitely is the way preview a kit. Weldone Sir.
Top flight work here. I'm also getting into more and more OOB building, not least because of the cost, although I never say no to precut canopy masks!! Really appreciate your candid review of what looks like a great mold. And again, great paint work.

Great job. I love getting ideas on hoe to fabricate pieces, etc. I had an “aha moment” when you painted decals that needed repaired. I was like: Duh! Why hadn’t I ever thought of that? Sometimes we try to overcomplicate things when we try to correct our mistakes. Great video!

Thank you so much for sharing your work!!!! I strongly believe that you did a wonderful job with this new kit. I will soon start modeling mine and you have shown me a straight path in advance. I also liked the use of waterpencil colors since I have also recently started to work with them and they are great for weathering green bases. Please keep on with these kind of models, greetings from Mexico!!!!!

Fantastic work, showing many different techniques and pointing out the good to know areas of this kit. The result is stunning. There's only one problem. I now want to build this myself. I'm looking at the box in front of me ;)
I absolutely love the OOB reviews. For a huge part of the modellers paying two-three times the price of the kit for AM goodies isn't an option, and honestly with enough money (with patience and skills) you can make a super model even from the shittiest ones. I like to see what do I get in the box, both in details and in buildability.
Greetings my friend, that was a absolutely outstanding build, I prefer OOB builds andvfind your video exceptional to watch, but I thjnk people should build how they prefer, I am not a grezt follower of using etch parts, with the exception of seat belts, you asked about the first greem you used, in my mind it was too blue, but then they did use several shades of green, you are one of the true masters of this hobby, and I watch all of your videos be they supef detailing or like this build OOB, bext regards from Australia
I love the out of the box format. I dont have the eyesight nor the time to scratch build all the wires and hydraulic lines etc. But , i very much appreciate the skill to do such work!
amazing work on this intricate model! May I ask what pressure did you use to paint with the airbrush? I see you have managed to find a very good balance between pressure and closeness to the model so that it doesn't splatter in many parts. I'm sure the paint does dry a lot on the tip of the airbrush since I've seen you've removed the needle protector.
I really like the way you shade and highlight for 3D effects rather than leaving it to natural lighting and perspective - which really doesn't work well at this scale in a room under a light bulb compared to a full size plane on a runway. Very nice!
Great video and build..I love the old Tamiya kit of the P-47 in 1/48..So was interested in the miniart P-47..It looks a lovely kit but good to see one built up.Therefore I would like to see you build your next new kit to see the builds review. Thank you and all the best🇬🇧👍
I liked very much the outcome of the kit, and I also believe that your criticism is an objective one that, If followed by Miniart, would lead to a much better model kit. Congratulations!!

Thanks for the feedback mate!
Excellent video. This build format is very informative and helpful to fellow model makers who may be considering the kit. Well done! 👍
Thank you for your kind words and your feedback!
I love the out of the box format. I dont have the eyesight nor the time to scratch build all the wires and hydraulic lines etc. But , i very much appreciate the skill to do such work!
Thank you for your feedback mate 👍
amazing work on this intricate model! May I ask what pressure did you use to paint with the airbrush? I see you have managed to find a very good balance between pressure and closeness to the model so that it doesn't splatter in many parts. I'm sure the paint does dry a lot on the tip of the airbrush since I've seen you've removed the needle protector.
Thank you! I use about 0.8 -1 bar depending on the paint. I only work with lacquer paints so dry tip is not an issue.
Perfect, like your builds very much, keep them coming!!
Thanks mate 👍
I really like the way you shade and highlight for 3D effects rather than leaving it to natural lighting and perspective - which really doesn't work well at this scale in a room under a light bulb compared to a full size plane on a runway.
Very nice!
Thanks for the feedback mate!
Outstanding work, absolutely mesmerising
Thanks mate!
Great video and build..I love the old Tamiya kit of the P-47 in 1/48..So was interested in the miniart P-47..It looks a lovely kit but good to see one built up.Therefore I would like to see you build your next new kit to see the builds review.
Thank you and all the best🇬🇧👍
Thanks for the feedback mate!

Really stunning work!
Thanks mate 👍
A work of art and a very informative review👍
Thanks mate!
It's just wonderful. I take notes and learn a lot from your explication. A big thank-you
Thanks for the feedback mate!
I liked very much the outcome of the kit, and I also believe that your criticism is an objective one that, If followed by Miniart, would lead to a much better model kit. Congratulations!!
Thanks, I also hope they take the suggestions from our community becaure they are very close to producing spectacular kits.
Bravo, sei Grande ! I learned today that you don't always need tons of aftermarket 🙄
Yes, today's kits are pretty good OOB
