I love the appeal to pathos being "I was a cop, I know how it feels to lose control"
Like, is that supposed to convince me to buy this?! I'm supposed to think a cop is the person I should trust with my health??
lmao cops not somebody I trust with my health eva baby
Haha! I don’t trust cops around a dog much less my health 😆
he gave up policing our streets to police our waistlines
@@auberry9900 this is too good of a joke 😭
RIGHT WTF 😬
This has a weird amount of nostalgia from my ED days… hope everyone is doing okay
fr i put up an ad blocker like 3 years ago and forgot these existed
omg same
it drove me nuts when everyone was talking about those lollipops like they were new 😂
Omg same. Its weird to have nostalgia of those days but I do
yeah fr i have anorexia rn and its gotten pretty bad٫ and ik how ppl with eds can do anything or buy anything if it means losing more weight. I could easily tell that its a scam but some ppl might not and let it control their ed and its just fucking sad and shitty that theyre taking advantage of that
Sending love your way ❤️ stay safe
I'm a fat person and I'm typically comfortable in my body. I spent so much of my life hating myself that I got tired of it and now I just want to do what's best for my health to the best of my ability without worrying about societal pressures. I like myself quite a lot, fat and all. But their promotional video made me feel like the chubby, awkward girl in the back of the middle school class that no one wants to be friends with again. Made me remember what I used to be willing to do just to make myself feel less ugly and less unlovable. People who prey on that desire to be loved and feel worthy of something are actually vile.
I’ve just gotten to this point in my life and honestly a little upset I wasted so much time hating a body that’s done so much for me. I’m so happy that you’ve grown so much that you see yourself positively!
this is why I've avoided diet and fitness culture for a long time, a scary amount of it just vultures preying on ppls insecurities. how do you find who's actually legit about health and who just wants to exploit your low esteem for money?
girl if that’s you in your pfp ur gorgeous, it’s such a shame that we put such a significance on weight that even slightly overweight people are automatically ‘ugly and unwantable’ when you’re..not…
1. amen sister 👏
2. Yup, I'm still in that in between period where I'm learning to love myself and my body more. I do still have moment where I am insecure again but then I read about people like you and that's very motivating to keep on loving myself. Super proud of you for sharing your experience and for being comfortable in your body!
I get this so much. I started loving my body when I turned 14 and it took me such a long time to really accept myself and it's still so hard. I try to avoid so many things about diet culture and when I want to see people work-out I usually seek out the people with a bigger figure so I feel like I am doing this for myself, not for the sake of other people who judge me.
You can be proud of yourself, I bet this wasn't an easy path. You go, stranger. You're doing amazing.
this gives me laxative abuse vibes. “diet and weight” pills are just screaming at people who are so desperate to lose weight or have an ED. it’s disgusting and evil to prey on other people like this. this has me thinking about the ED tag on tumblr around 2012-2013. much love to everyone who has/still is struggling
yeah, the part at the beginning when the person is typing into Google that they don't want to live... definitely targeted
it's got the exact same energy, coming from someone who's me on That Part of tumblr up until 2020
This scam talks about weight fluctuation as if it's not a natural thing. Nobody stays the same weight all year round. We all fluctuate, some more than others, but it's natural.
I completely agree
Weight fluctuations are normal especially for women.
Extremely telling that the beginning of the commercial shows someone getting cruelly harassed online for their weight and the suggested solution isn’t to block those people and surround yourself with kindness, but to waste money and injure yourself in a desperate bid for attention from people who openly hate you. Yikes.
This!
honestly. because why create more environments that support body positivity and discusses the issues with fat phobia when we could just keep selling diet pills and marketing to the insecurities toxic behavior surrounding being fat has instilled in so many people. 😒🙄
The "dissolves fat" phrasing always reminds me of that one Doctor Who episode, where the fat inside people literally just walked away at night.
That episode was wild, thank you for reminding me 🤣 I loved that as a kid
Was just about to comment this too lol
They even called it adipose cells
Exactly the comment I was looking for 😂
I just can't get over how that fucking video started. "Getting loads of horrible, dehumanizing comments on social media? Don't worry, it IS your fault. Buy this shit from us to fix it because, again, the problem is YOU."
“Here’s how to fix yourself so bullies will finally like you :)”
I swear diet culture has ruined the word "healthy" for me bc it defines health as what will make you look skinny rather than what's good for your body, regardless of how it makes you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. I'm wary of anything that claims to be "healthy"
This is exactly it.
Yeah! I’ve realised that muscle weighs a bunch and if I want to be stronger that means I’m going to (probably) lose the spare weight and then start gaining back in form of muscle when I start exercising more than now
I try be as healthy as I can. I think of it as having a balanced, clean diet and getting exercise everyday. Doesn’t mean I don’t have pizza or eat out every once in a while but, I want my day to day routine to mostly be homemade (and if possible, organic) food.
I am skinny. I workout all the time and like to eat clean. A lot of my friends have asked me if I judge them for being overweight and I tell them no. I really don’t care. The only thing I would really want is for them to try being healthier. I know it doesn’t solve anything but, eating better and exercising more does improve your mood, sleep, digestion, and energy levels. Those are the top things most of my friends complain about. Still, other peoples decisions are their business and I try to live by that rule.
I eat the way I do because I care about what I put in my body. I exercise because I love the burn when I run, hike, and weight lift. It also does improve my mood, sleep, digestion, and energy levels.
But whenever i say “healthy” or “healthier” I do see people cringe. Everyone is shamed to sell products. You aren’t “healthy enough,” you could be “healthier.” So the word doesn’t have meaning anymore.
I'm sure there are plenty of people and lots of messaging like that, but just anecdotally, being very skinny, nobody has ever assumed I was healthy irl, even when I was relatively in shape running 5 and 10ks and the like.
Without commenting on any of the fatphobic stuff from the company, only fetal infants really have brown adipose tissues unless you are super nutrients deprived. I absolutely hate the "doctor" part, you can't measure dopamine levels of an alive person without an invasive procedure.
I was just about to comment this, the science in diet scams is usually wrong but this one was just painful
not to mention, having excessive dopamine is not a good thing.
@@maxwashere. It's also an absurd measurement in general not only because OP is right that measuring brain dopamine levels is not feasible in a live individual, but also because the presence of dopamine itself is not an indicator of "oh ur not depressed anymore!!!!" Most of your body's dopamine isn't necessarily concentrated in the brain... Bananas, for example, are VERY dopamine rich, but because we ingest bananas, there is no direct effect on an individual's mental health because dopamine is broken down into its dopaminergic metabolites and excreted in your urine. This kind of pseudoscience is incredibly dangerous and frustrating to see run rampant.
@@maxwashere. yeah, same with serotonin. I got serotonin syndrome and genuinely almost died. Had to be in the ICU, had a super high fever, at risk of seizures etc. Wouldn’t recommend it, it’s live threatening and even if it doesn’t kill you, you would be lucky to not have permanent brain or organ damage (or be in a coma)
Not that this supplement had any scientific merit to it, but when I was getting my undergrad in nutrition, we had a whole mandatory class about nutrition in the media and quackery. Basically - if it's promising something that it will work for everyone or that it'll work the same for everyone... It won't work. Secondly, my professor had a joke that "all diet studies can be labeled as successful if you study it for less than a year" because that's when people either stop keeping up with the diet or gain the weight back because of their metabolic makeup.
At the end of the day, everyone is different. If losing weight is something you want to do - go to a professional. Not an advertisement.
I know like literally these companies will go on about how their ingredients have been scientifically proven to work and itll be like 1 study with 15 people that only lasted a couple months. I honestly don't even know how its legal for them to make so many false claims, like Red Bull got sued because it dosent actually give you wings
It’s so true that nothing ever works the same for everyone. I struggled with constant weight gain and went on a number of random diets only to find out 4 years later from a blood test that I had a major hormone imbalance that was messing with my metabolism and caused other non-weight related issues. Definitely leave these things to the professionals.
I wish we, as a society, finally woke up and stopped fighting with our bodies.
Let's aim for the health of mind and body and if we stop being mental hopefully we stop having breakdowns over stupid shit, like not having a supernatural physique for example.
Honestly. Body neutrality should be the norm, it’s been so good for me personally as someone who’s been the bigger one in most of my friend groups.
yeah, as a person who works out i feel like other gym goers care way too much about other people's weight. Whilst judging others about being fat, they themselves take steroids and think they're still healthy.
yep! and, as an american, we gotta make some new food laws. the insane crap the fda counts as “food”, the steep price of fresh/organic produce, and the giant portion sizes here (not to mention our broken healthcare system) are huge factors in this “obesity epidemic”
Agreed, we need to normalize that different bodies have different healthy standards. I'm on the other side of the spectrum as I'm very skinny and people constantly question whether or not I'm really healthy, even tho my blood tests are always good and I don't have an ED. It made it really difficult for me to use swimsuits in front of some people.
Do you know how to gain weight for someone who can't eat much? I'm autistic and frequently forget to eat and am struggling a lot. If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it
The tropical loophole sounds like something you take advantage of to dodge taxes
Panama diet
Ads like these are literally some of the most predatory shit on the internet and should be illegal. Not only do they take advantage of vulnerable people, but a lot of weight loss supplements can actually be dangerous. Supplements don't have to be approved by the FDA so literally anything could be in them and my guess is that this one is just another mix of laxities, absurd amounts of caffeine, and a bunch of "exotic" plants that may or may not be safe for human consumption
he decided to make up an entire gene that their pill can just magically get rid of. he could have just said it raises your metabolism. (if that’s the word?)
Yeah that’s the right word
As a nurse having the heart rate of an athletes when you aren’t an athlete is VERY dangerous
180 day supply???? Thats 6 months. If you lose 3lb a day like they said, thats 540lbs. So say youre like 300lbs, you could be -240lbs and have to weight yourself down so you don't float away. that's crazy
lmaoaoaoaoaooaoaoaoaoaoo
Also 1 lb of fat contains 3,500 calories of energy. So losing 3lbs a day means that your body is releasing 10,500 calories within a day. A food calorie is actually a kilocalorie, so that’s 1,050,0000 calories, which is 43932000000 joules, which is more than in a car battery, so you’d probably spontaneously combust if you were to expend that much energy
i really think it’s great that everyone feels safe talking about ED struggles and body dysmphorphia, but as someone who has also dealt with it i think we need to remember how toxic and competitive ED culture is. let’s stop going into unnecessary detail and numbers so we can keep this a safe space!!
100%. if you’re still in the middle of struggling with an ED, seeing people talk about how they controlled their weight or how much weight they lost/their current weight can be a serious trigger. even for someone in recovery or who has recovered, seeing that stuff can be a real struggle and trigger old thought patterns
Aw man at first i thought you were talking about erectile dysfunction for some reason smh lol. Glad you’re doing better 👍
@@frog_goblin definitely!
@@frog_goblin THIS
@@frog_goblinthats how it is for me
I love hearing that my friend lost weight and she's so proud of herself but it just brings back really horrible memories and can sometimes even trigger some things
Nick: This guy's a psychopath
Guy: I'm a police sergeant
It checks out
Woah i read this right before he said that
As someone who's currently struggling with trying to lose weight to match my expression, this is fucking rancid. I can only imagine someone like me, going through exactly what I am, buying one of these, and only getting WORSE because of it.
thats exactly what im saying٫ i am currently also at the worst point of my ed and its fucking unbelievable and disgusting that they prey on people like us who are already suffering
Agreed. I’m trying to as well because I’m having health issues. But this one seems especially fucked up.
@@aquademoney literally, i grew up chubby (and honestly it was cute but i hated it) and now i’ve lost the weight (not in a healthy way but whateva) but i still have those negative thought patterns and those ads just brought me back. ick.
shit like this just hurts people who are trying to be better and healthier, and i’m not sure why it’s still allowed and so heavily prevalent
@@olivia-nq7ry fr its honestly just fucking gross of them especially when a lot more kids have access to this shit now which helps promote eating disorders not only to teens but even to younger audiences as young as like 8year olds or maybe even younger. its actually just fucking abusive and harmful asf.
the idea of portraying your competitors as greedy and oppressive, wanting to slander your product with fake reviews, is pretty genius. The same thing happens in politics constantly. Invalidate all of the opinions of the people who disagree with you by telling your supporters that they're brainwashed or malicious to uphold the status quo.
Creating the urgency to act by acting like the FBI is about to bust in the door to remove the secret is also a plus
That's precisely the reason why so many people are afraid or unwilling to follow the bare minimum guidelines for maintaining public health. They've been told that the CDC and medical professionals the world over are all in on some malicious agenda to topple "The West" and that people who agree with said professionals are brainwashed instead of simply informed.
It's because we've become obsessed with "disruptors to the industry." Bevauzd the industrial complex is "incentivized to keep you sick." How incentivized? They bribe everyone from the Suegeon General to your neighbor to sell specifically *just you* into buying their product.
It makes everyone feel really special (because only they know the truth and are going to help save everyone) while also alleviating them of responsibility (it isn't your fault you're sick--it's theirs, and anyone you can't save shouldn't be).
I wouldnt call it "genius". its pretty common practice these days. just manipulative
@@milorodriguez3739 I definitely don't think the people who use it are genius, and ik it's certainly not an original idea at this point, but I do think the concept itself is genius- at least in a vacuum (maybe "clever" is a better word).
But, ironically, making a scheme like this is probably just intuitive for people with more manipulative tendencees, narcissistic traits, etc. anyways, so even though it may seem clever to me, the people who actually do things like this probably don't even need to think about it (assuming they didn't just copy it from someone else... which is probably usually the case).
This whole ad is scummy, but the part about “gaining and losing the same 5 lbs over and over again” really pisses off because I know people who will gain 5 lbs and take it as some kind of massive failure, and do shit like cutting out all carbs or exercising an extra 2 hours a day just to drop that small amount of weight, not realizing that 5 lbs is a PERFECTLY NORMAL body weight fluctuation for people to have and doesn’t constitute any kind of failure. These companies perpetuate such unhealthy attitudes towards food and body image, it’s disgusting.
it’s so silly. People’s weights can vary +/-5 lbs just throughout a single day!
@@SM-yz4hi yes! Literally the other day I weighed myself in the morning and then again at night to see if there was a difference, and I was 4 lbs heavier at night. That doesn’t mean I gained 4 lbs of fat, I just ate food and drank water throughout the day like, you know, people need to do to survive, and it added more weight because I physically had more mass inside my body.
I really just want to drive this point home because it sucks to see people freaking out over completely normal weight fluctuations.
@@KitchenOnTheLeft I’ve weighed 6lbs different between waking up and weighing right after going to the bathroom and eating a giantass dinner! food has weight to it!
I lost 10 pounds in two weeks when I got Salmonella and that shit scared me. Can’t imagine people thinking it’s okay to lose 20 pounds in a week. Also I had an ED that almost killed me when I was younger, ads like this make me furious. Losing weight and looking a certain way is not everything, your life is more important.
i love that you're adding more ppl to the team!! making art thats bigger than just you yourself thats the dream isnt it
If you look into the terms and conditions for these scams you'll see that you only get a refund if you bought it full price, not discounted but they are never sold at full price.
To anyone struggling with weight or EDs, you are strong and beautiful, this world is very hard. You can do it, true balance means self love, self love without conditions, rules or guilt. If you are struggling get help, there is nothing to be ashamed of, no matter what anyone else around you may feel. Don’t compare yourself to anything, just check in and ask ‘am I happy, am I enjoying my life, am I participating in my life’. You are not alone and you will recover in time just like many many many of us out there. Love from the London xxx
thank you 💖💖
i cant believe these are legal tbh, i ended up in hospital with heart palpitations because of diet pills
Because it isn’t, you need to report whatever it is you took to the FDA. It doesn’t have to be proven safe in order to be sold. But if it isn’t safe, the FDA will take it down. But it’s like bots in the comment section. It’s easier to create a pop up shot then it is to take it down.
I’m glad you’re okay ❤️
hooly fuck thats rough ;( i agree tho. shit is crazy
ED discussion tw
im in recovery for extreme anorexia. i didn't lose weight that quickly despite eating less than a toddler should be eating. ads like these are horrifying. it scares me to think how many people are where I was in middle school because of stuff like this
The way that video ad talks about the fat is the worst. I had an unhealthy relationship with food for most of my 20s that I'm still recovering from and a large part of it was due to the weight loss ads I saw from preteen age up. If their product actually worked it would probably kill people, and the way they sell their product does kill people.
I won’t lie I’m skipping these recent videos about food/dieting but I hope to see whatever you guys come up with next :)
If you want to skip to part where he talks about the tattoo poll, it starts at 17:10 :)
we all know the solution to online harassment about weight is to lose weight and become part of the problem lmao
Cellulite doesn’t just go away, it’s scarring, what did they too to Monica’s cellulite??
they just melted it away! dissolved it!
Seriously! Even very thin people have cellulite, especially around their booty. Cellulite is perfectly natural and doesn’t mean you’re “fat”.
welcome felicia!! excited to see her ideas come to life :)
Hi Felicia-
He said "I don't know how much longer we have" like the fbi was closing in on his location
i love how a weight loss pill also somehow gave them “athletic figures”. Wow, it really must be a miracle if it builds muscle overnight too
HAHAHA ☠️
"Bet your husband secretly hates you."
Damn that's a mean fake comment for no reason.
The makers of this snake oil are truly disgusting.
Friendly reminder that you are beautiful and society is cruel
i am fucking stunned by the ad with all the instagram comments. like how can you look at that and be like "oh yeah the person who posted the picture is the one who needs to do something about that, not the societal expectations that we have for people's bodies and the entitlement people feel to criticize other people's appearance!" like holy shit. the fact that this exists is legit making me really sad right now
Nick, you’re an absolute BEAST
I’m a fan of yesterday and todays video. It’s nice to have a rational point of view for topics that I’ve struggled with for all my life. My brain tends to blur a lot of lines when it comes to healthy relationships with food. Stay safe friends my friends. I love you

you're a BEAST!! but really, I love your content and everything you're doing and as a woman its really refreshing hearing you talk about this stuff and connecting not only with your fans but with your collaborators as well. keep up the good work Aries :)))
as someone who's been just skating around having an ED, this is incredibly horrifying. I hope everyone going through this finds a way to be happy in their body
fucked up that a 1 month old baby took exipure and lost 10 pounds. that has to be most of a 1 month old baby right? did the baby die
nick: "so this man's a psychopath"
this man: "I'm a police sergeant"

nick (and everyone) u should listen to the podcast “maintenance phase”!! it deep dives into the weight loss/health industry and is super funny and informative!
Omg, yes! I love Maintenance Phase
Such a good podcast!!!!
Logical part of my brain: Wow that is such bullshit who would believe that?
Insecure part of my brain: Buy it
Bruh if I took a pill that ~MeLtEd~ 50 lbs of fat I would literally be a walking skeleton,,,how can that be a guarantee of theirs 😭
ikr i would be 48 pounds😭
2nd amendment is the right to own a bear or something
Part of me is actually still really tempted to go buy these. Halfway into the video lol. Well I’m starting to get triggered so imma just vote on the tattoo poll and be on my way :)) sorry, thought I was ok enough to watch this, and thought a rational (assuming non Eating disordered person) person talking about this would help me see differently, turns out I was wrong and any topic of weight loss is triggering at the moment.
Take care of yourself bb. 💜 The diet industry is all misinformed bullshit. Drink some water and have a snack and relax 💜
i just came to the realization that stock footage/image people are actually real people that exist in real life. we just know nothing about them and we probably never will
the use of tropical/exotic every two words immediately tells u it's a scam
So their logic is: if horrible people online bully the shit out of you for being fat, they’re right and you need to lose weight? You shouldn’t try to rise above people who you’ll probably never meet and therefore do not matter, you should take everything these random online strangers say straight to heart and prove them right? Gotcha.
10:00 the discounts there are actually really deceptive, more so than I would have expected. Because they are all based on the original price of 200 it seems like you save a ton of money by buying 6 instead of one but in reality the single bottle is already discounted.
If you do the math, saving 20 dollars per bottle on 6 means you save $120 dollars and not a thousand. But most people won't realize that comparison because the math isn't technically wrong. Wow.
The way the beginning of that video put me right back into my extremely toxic high school mindset is so sick I want to take legal action
I can’t even make a joke because I’m literally 2 mins in and already pissed lmao that first “ad” was so gross
I appreciate that you are talking about important issues like diet culture and misogyny, Nick!
I love how at 12:53 it shows you a petri dish of like duck grass or something like what the f*** is that it has nothing to do with the supplements LOL
when they said tropical loophole, I immediately thought they were going to advertise tapeworms…
“God gave me the strength” I had to pause I was laughing way too hard
I've been in ED recovery for almost a year now and am very distant from that mindset, but those ads were genuinely so triggering. they literally used key words and promises that appeal specifically to people with EDs. absolutely disgusting company
i remember seeing the 'aids diet pills' on a jse video a couple years ago. this just brought those memories back lol.
So at the start of that ad it was like u can start ur weightloss right now from ur kitchen.
How come they are selling me supplements which are already in my kitchen 😂😂😂
Tropical loopholes's slogan of "MAking the fat dissolve while you sleep, reminds me of the Adipose in Doctor Who. People take this " weight loss pill" and when they sleep, these cute lil' aliens come out of their bodies and just walks away..... hahaha
To lose 3 lbs in a day, you have to complete two triathlons without eating for 24 hours
I literally got an ad for a prescription weight loss medication in the middle of this video and didn’t even skip it at first because I thought it was part of the video. Wtf lol
"I just feel like his brand is sleepy man, but he has all these beautiful nuggets of life in there. and his delivery isn't like stand-up at all, but every fifth line you're like, ha, that's funny. and he's all about calling out the rotten parts of what's happening, as part of this generation, to make the world a better place. I feel like he sees himself as part of a movement to take back the internet. ergo, the flowers coming out of his head! it's perfect for his brand."
-my partner, after I show him the tattoo bracket as it stands, describing how he has come to the conclusion that tattoo 1 should win
If your husband isn’t a writer already, he should be!
There's something really off-putting about the ads I've seen with that one robot voice, telling you do "do this before bed and burn 30 pounds while you sleep" or something to that effect. It's so fake and it really makes my skin crawl. It makes me feel like nobody at youtube actually sits down and watches the ads before they're approved.
I got an ad for pills like this or maybe the same recently. As a afab teenager it concerns me who there target audience really is.
damn nick u need to let us know when ur cat is meowing in ur vids so i dont pause it and go looking for my cats all over the house.... cus this has happened more than once loooooooool
the fact that "working on my comedy" made me laugh so much is golden
These supplement ads have such psychotic writing. It's kinda scary the way they talk about fat, and weirdly looping in the police? and god? Who the hell wrote this?
I get these constantly. As someone recovering from an eating disorder it is not ideal♥️
Nick I just wanna say you've been abs crushing it in the content department lately, I've been loving all of your collabs especially! Keep up the good work!
Lost 3 lbs overnight? Sounds like someone shit the bed
This is giving very much "Adipose Industries" vibes. I half expected to see little adiposians wandering around 😅 iykyk
8:56 How did I know when I heard him say prepraprwpeiprepeh while I wasn’t watching the screen that he meant proprietary
Lol. The moment Nick mentions everyone posting on instagram and the immediate tear-down comments. He said it sarcastically. However, as a fat woman who is extremely uncomfortable in her body due to public view and action (long stories to be had here one day when I finally open up) I have, in fact, posted on instagram, tiktok, or twitter, and been instantly reminded that a large number of people in this world find me disgusting, inhuman, and a waste of space. It's those constant reminders that keep me from posting anything anymore, that lead to me taking my camera off when I streamed on twitch, and, ultimately, had me stopping streaming altogether after a raid party entered calling me a whale, pig, and asking if I had a fat fetish onlyfans account. Maybe one day I will have the strength to push through it, but it is very real. Videos like this prey on people like me who see it, cry and remember...every single time it's happened. Every word of it.
By "videos like this" I meant the diet video. Not Nick. Lmfao. I adore Nick.
That is awful. I am so sorry you have been subjected to such horrible treatment.
i watched this vid a few weeks ago and ended up stumbling across this same exact scam on my own 💀 crazy how easy it is for anyone to get sucked into this
that ad is disgusting omg... how are they even able to post it? it's suicide bait like what the hell
This is the most manipulative advertisement I've ever seen holy cow
The "He was shocked he lost 3 lbs overnight" remark stands out to me because thats... a completely normal amount of weight to lose during sleep.
Most of the time you gain it over the course of a day, but most people lose somewhere between 1-3 pounds overnight, with this amount leaning towards the 3 for people with more weight. This loss is also almost completely water loss which is not a real measure of long term weight loss but still something many diets will keep quiet because it tricks you into thinking the diet works really well
I love the transparency you have about the people who help you with your videos! Ethan’s drawing cam was great lol
Ugghhh, the "but God gives me the strength" thing was so scummy, and the fake stats and "I don't know how much more time we have?" 🤢 As someone trying to lose weight for actual legit health reasons this advert is horribly, disgustingly predatory.
Also, the "riot in Harrisonburg" (where I went to school) was a real thing, but it was basically the police using too much force on a giant student block party. Tear gas, rubber bullets and pepper spray, and from what I read it sounded like the students were more injured than the officers. And no stabbings either, so more lies, no surprise there. But I'm glad this straw man police officer wasn't hurt 🤣
u uploaded right when I sat down to eat thx bestie
this literally just feels like the episode of doctor who where this woman was pushing a weight loss plan and it turned out that she was an alien causing people's fat to literally pop off of their bodies as little creatures made out of fat who were also aliens
“who’s this guy???” you sound like my mom when i show her a meme 😭😭
As someone of who struggled with ed these videos all really familiar. These ads just target peoples insecurities and exploit them for profit.
Wtf was that copaganda in the middle of that snake oil ad and why did he act like beating up some drunk college students was equivalent to charging at the seige walls?
it’s so sick, i remember being 14 and being mad that i didn’t have money online to be able to order something like this. they’re preying on people who are so deep in their insecurities that they’re willing to do anything. i’m only 17 now and i still feel really insecure, and even though i know these things are scams, if i’m feeling really down i could easily ignore my senses and be like “well.. what’s the harm in trying it?”. obviously right now i wouldn’t, but i just know that i’m able to get to a point where i would do it despite knowing better. anyway 😁
This is reminding me of the doctor who adipose episode. The aliens are invading, folks
Yeah, the weight loss ads have been making a sudden resurgence on tumblr too
"Six flags: island of adventures"

8:55 it's really strange when a company markets proprietary things as being good
Tropical loophole sounds like some one tried making kockoff froot loops
As someone who has both severe Crohn's and aggressive renal cancer, keeping weight on my body is a constant struggle and anytime I get an ad for weight loss or dieting, I can't help but laugh a little.
Fun fact:
Them saying that weight lost with their pill being gone forever (12:52) is literally impossible. The only way one can permanently lose weight is through weight-loss surgery.
Here's why:
Fat cells neither die when you lose weight nor multiply when you gain weight. They simply expand and shrink by being inflated by lipids (stored calories). One can think of fat cells as balloons; when they carry a lot of lipids, they are similar to an inflated balloon. Balloons are easier to inflate when they've been inflated before, which is why lost weight often comes back. Those fat cells are simply more prone to carrying weight now. As a result of this, people often can't get off diets or other strategies without gaining weight back.
A few things to note:
• People gain weight in certain parts of the body more than other parts because there are more fat cells there to to store the lipids.
• When children gain weight, they often DO have fat cells multiply a little bit, but there is nothing natural that can kill these cells in a healthy way at any age.
• Aside from metabolism, people who are naturally overweight may also have more fat cells than others.
• I, again, stress that the only guaranteed way to lose weight permanently is by weight loss surgery, though I do not recommend this route.*
Here's a bonus lesson:
Your body has subcutaneous fat and visceral fat, which I will refer to as S-fat and V-fat. S-fat is the fat beneath the skin. It's soft, and is the most visible fat, as well as being located all over the body, including the belly. V-fat is a layer deeper, only under the abdominal muscles with one's organs. A hard gut is usually caused by an abundance of V-fat and a lack of S-fat. Some people are more prone to storing fat in one than the other, usually affected by lifestyle. People with healthier lifestyles are more prone to gaining weight in S-fat (note that things like alcohol biases the body toward V-fat. V-fat is much less visible and is harder to detect, but it's V-fat that actually hinders health, as it damages organs if it's too abundant. S-fat, though being more visible, takes basically no toll on your health unless the weight or size itself is hindersome. There are lots of details that I would explain if I was writing an essay, but I'll only explain them if somebody's curious. *It's highly notable that weight loss surgery can only take away S-fat, the harmless fat, not V-fat the fat that can harm, as they aren't going to open up your abdominal wall and remove fat from behind it and around your organs (that would be dangerously risky and not worth it). If there is less S-fat to store lipids in, the body will choose to store more in the dangerous V-fat, putting you at greater risk for disease and health problems. Weight loss surgery only takes away the mostly-harmless fat, and sacrifices health for vanity (unless said S-fat is physically hindersome). It's also notable that V-fat isn't "bad," per se, since it cushions organs, but weight gain in V-fat still has a bad effect. S-fat often correlates to health, which is why many often lose or gain weight when they get more or less healthy (since people often burn the energy stored in fat to exercise), but the weight loss itself isn't what's making them healthier, and it isn't the best indication. I will acknowledge empty calories, too, as they are damaging lipids from unhealthy food that usually affect V-fat, and V-fat can influence S-fat, so I will elaborate on them if asked. In summery, S-fat is harmless and is mostly helpful; do not be ashamed of it or think it makes you look unhealthy, because it doesn't. If you want to see if you have one or the other, know that any fat that you can grab, squish, or jiggle is subcutaneous, so a soft belly poses no harm to you. A hard belly, being composed of V-fat behind the abdominal wall, does pose harm. Lose that kind of fat with exercise and healthier choices (it is notable that S-fat may shrink with it, though that shouldn't be the goal main goal).
Another important note:
Skinny doesn't always mean healthy. Most people are at their healthiest without flat stomachs. Fat is partially an indication of calorie (and therefore energy) intake, and many people's bodies need a calorie intake that results in S-fat to be at their ideal health.
One more thing:
The video is full of pseudo-science and stupidity, but I only chose to talk about this one detail, as I didn't see any other comments addressing it.
*Learn to love yourself and your body. Fat in your body is your friend, not your enemy. Your body has a weight gain/loss function for many reasons I haven't even listed. Appreciate the S-fat in your body, as it stores energy in a pretty much harmless way.*
I am not advocating against exercise or (healthy) weight loss, just saying that S-fat is usually harmless, and health is a different thing than weight/appearance. Weight loss and exercise should be aimed at losing excess V-fat if present and becoming more resilient and genuinely healthy. Nobody can really promise a permanently completely skinny body in good health, nor should it be an ultimate universal goal.
There is so much information that I have not typed, and I know this comment is past long enough, so I'll cut it off here. I hope this has been informative.
Ugh I hate folks that shill that kinda absolute crap and the sad part is they prey upon peoples insecurities and make an absolute disgusting amount of money 😞
I can’t get over the slow motion shots! 💀
