I remember liking Cinder and liking Scarlet and then suddenly Cress turned this whole series into a fave instantly. It was SO GOOD. Agree with you completely, loved your review!
I've been purposely avoiding this series at bookstores because I just thought it was lame, but after watching your reviews I'm super excited to read the series. Good job Priscilla
In the original fairytale (or at least in other versions of it), Rapunzel's parents were stealing a plant from the witch because that was all the mom wanted to eat when she was pregnant with Rapunzel. That plant was the rapunzel, or in some versions, the RAMPION plant (which is a cabbage. And Cress is also a cabbage). Also, the prince goes blind because he fell on some THORNES. Get it?? Hehe. That blew my mind when I realized that.
So glad you enjoyed Cress! It is definitely my favourite book in the series, and the only one book so far where I pulled an all-nighter just to finish it xD
I really enjoy listening you, I love your pronuntation! This book is my favorite too, but I can't choose between Scarlet and Wolf and Cress and Thorne! I love the both and I wish I could read Winter soon... Congratulations from Colombia! I continue watching your videos 👌😘
Now I can't wait to get to the third book. I saw your review on this series and just knew: "have to read right now" Just finished Cinder and OMG these books are so addicting. I know I will get done with # 2 and 3 fast and then wait "forever" till Nov :(
Every time someone reviews the Lunar Chronicles, I think "I have GOT to read these books!" But after watching all of yours this morning, they are on my reserve list at the library.
This review was perfect timing for me. I just borrowed Cress from the library and I'm excited to read it. I heard it's the best book out of the three. I liked Scarlet more than Cinder so hopefully I will like Cress :)
You should read Fairest too it gives a great insight into Queen Levana and Lunar in general. CRESS SPOILER Also what did you think of the fact that Dr Arland was Cresses father and his death scene and the fact that lunars can catch the plague now.
4evertomorrow SPOILER An unexpected twist! But it was cool to see that connection between the two characters. And I think that the Lunars being able to catch the plague is great - something that will connect the Earthens and the Lunars to work together to figure out a cure (maybe?). Because this new strain of the virus is more aggressive... and with Dr Erland out of the picture, I wonder who is going to figure out a cure for that :O Either that, or the Lunars will be wiped out? Hmmm...
I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS BEING HER DWARFS! WHAOWAHOWAHO i can't wait for winter, i'm just gonna explode, also do you plan on reading fairest? ITS AMAZING.
***** Hello Sis, OMG! You are the most gorgeous Book Tuber that I ever seen. When I would like to watch a review about any books, I prefer watching your videos. You are so awesome. You have everything I love to see: excellent explanation, quiet personality, kindness, cute, lovely girl and helpful.. Keep it up sis. I love you
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS and PREDICTIONS!!!! Okay I have a prediction for Winter: remember that part in Cress where Jacin and Cinder are talking about the chip that was implanted by her father to suppress her lunar gifts?? (This was in Africa when she was fixing their plane). And Jacin was like 'how did you go from not knowing you were lunar to having awesome mind controlling powers?' And then Cinder was like 'I had a chip implanted'. Jacin seemed really interested in this and at first I assumed it was because he was a weak lunar so that if every lunar had that chip implanted then he wouldn't get treated horribly or something. But now I think it's more so that he can implant the chip in Winter, suppressing her gifts, therefore effectively 'curing' her of her insanity, a result of not using her powers. I think this is what's going to happen anyway. Sorry for the long post. P.S a goodreads reader mentioned that the name Jacin means healer. Plus in Cress he said he wanted to be a doctor. Fits in with the theory doesn't it?
I didn't think I could hate Queen Levana more than I already did. But then I read Fairest. Do you think you'll read that one too? It only took me a few hours. :D
Aaah I loved Cress so much. Watching this video got me excited over this series all over again. \(^o^)/ Are you planning to read Fairest? Coz it is amazing and my thoughts have never been this conflicted over a character Also, I probably say this every time you wear blue but it totally suits you ❤
iridescence02 Yes! Oh gosh, antagonist backstory that will cause me to feel empathy/sympathy??? OTL Jk. I'm intrigued to learn about Queen Levana's story. I've been saying I'll probably check it out after Winter, but now I might not wait that long X) Thank you!
My favourite part in this book was any moment that involved Cress and Thorne, they are just so cute together! :D
