But yeah lol this game is all about getting useless crap like this and Ultima (who I just learned Leon, who you get hours later after learning is the best candidate with high weapon/magic skill variety to buff it) and having foresight to know how to win earlier (mysidia by teleport and chocobo while having Minwu makes the game easier and of course ripper/blood sword for Ricard when dying if you want to go soul of rebirth not in bastardized pixel remaster like peninsula of power). Using tomes instead of low level crap magic like esuna is a classic (though you'd need esuna outside of battle which level 5 heals petrify I believe, so you'd have to gamble mid battle for the tome to cure petrify but for the whole party).

I have this game and didn't even know this boss existed.. I just know of the base game and the afterlife part with Scott, Gareth(Ricard), Josef and Minwu..
This fight is really sad. Because at that point of the game, if you manage to get past Deumion, you actually don't, never, ever need the Destroy Tome, because you just vanquished the most powerful being of this world. The player's lust for power just had them kill an innocent man who was taken from his family, and took away the only thing he had. I find the Revive quest much more interesting !
Plus, the spell is practically useless and an overkill Needs 999 PM (Max posible) and kills everyone unless you get 9999 Life, which allows you to live because it does 9999 damage to everything except you withbthe spell having mercy and only dealing a confy 999*8* damage, so if something damages while casting that Beta Spell, ur done for... At least revive restores Everyone elses MP
As bad as this game was in terms of gameplay, its story was pretty decent (yeah, a bit repetitive at times with the pt members coming and going), and the music was great. gotta love uematsu's work.
You can't expect a game made 40 years ago to be good in terms of gameplay when your comparing it with others, this is just an experience of old JRPG gameplay if you like to try anyways.
Even the final boss was more threatening.... Want a real superboss, try most of them in the FF1 PsP version. Especially if you get the strongest version of Chronodia
Ah FF2, this game would give an interesting "build your own character" game, if square enix didn't screwed up on the characters and monsters status. You're either underpowered or overpowered an enemy on that game, there is no mid term.

FF2 is really disbalanced, because it's not only Deumion is like this. Emperor is so weak that my party could've killed a group of Emperors. And a group of Deumions right after... The sad part is, i wasn't even farming that much. It's as if this game was meant to have 999 hp cap for protagonists, but they changed it to 9999, which made it impossible to die unless you really want to look at that Destroy spell.
Tbh after I fought both, I feels like phrekyos is harder than deumion, maybe because of its chance to one hit kill with it's attack and I don't have any death proof gear. I also feels like a big jerk after beating him...
Just like FF1, in FF2 spell have a really hight cap to max... so berserk will keep powering you up as long you continue to use it until certain cap... i think 9 uses.
It's not like FFIV and the following where Berserk's effect only works once, in the NES Final Fantasies with the ports and remakes, all White Magic are stackable.
@@sebastiankulche but the problem is, magic stat is low, make you magic not enough higher damage that's main problem, I agree about increases lvl spell for damage, but if your not increases magic stat, that mean not enough damage, so make sure you can increase magic stat has possible
@@arlinalvera1773 Magic increases when using random spells, so by the time you have all level 16 spells, magic stat should be high. Equipment that increases magic can also help.

Nah its doable. Easy way to do it is use swap with weak enemies and after u kill them u get basically all stat boosts. After awhile your hp will raise by a ton due to max stamina
8 was worse. It was the embodiment of Teen Angst: "No matter what you do, it makes no appreciable difference." Or, rather, "Whatever." You level up? The enemies level up. You want Magic? You spend days DRAW'ing it. You want buffed stats? You can't USE the Magic, because once you do, your Stats drop. You want better gear? You have to play a sidequest card game who's rules keep changing, then destroy the ultra-rare cards. You want to beat the game? You find out your life is stuck in an infinite loop from which there is no escape, and everything is going to happen again, no matter what you do. I detested 8. 10 wasn't much better. 12 was the last _decent_ Final Fantasy, but the Live Action Combat made it far less entertaining. 9 was the last GOOD Final Fantasy.
