E Jones I am an old 68 Year old retired barber I am retired for 10 years now. I worked my ass off and and didn't spend it ll so I could retire. Anyway you are perhaps the only barber on UA-cam that i would want to cut my hair. I might be a little old but I wear my hair very much like this haircut..If I ever come to Vegas I want to look you up.

    So thank you.
just a request. Can you make a barber tutorial on how to do a one mid fade. more along the line of a pompador. it's kind of a popular cut when you work in a traditional barbershop. if you cant, I understand. but much appreciated by you. thanks again.

Would definitely suggest you look into videos teaching you how to do proper scissor work. It will help you and the people you are trying to teach. There is always something to learn in this field. the same way people look to your videos you should be looking to others to improve upon yourself if you're not already.
With that said your fade work is great and your line up and use or your straight razor is on point. Overall a great cut. well done fam

its better to learn how to cut with scissors textbook sometimes. there are things or techniques you learn that you don't necessarily see in these vids that are not explained because its just something they do naturally that they learned in barber school or wherever they learned. it can be done by video I guess if the barber is really detailed in explaining what they do.

people leave some strange comments looking at the stuff below. Anyway excellent video. I cut hair in Wales, u.k, and most barbers here use Wahl. I've tried oster and Andis, and they seem much slower and a lot harder to get a nice crispy edge on line ups. why? Is the voltage different cos they come from the u.s? any barbers know?

My Boss who is a lady traditional barber for over 30 years says to me because I have been doing these fades like this for a while (well trying too ) some good some bad. Has the mentality that this technique takes too long she does free hand barbering with no gaurds and has no respect for using gaurds what so ever, although I have seen her use perhaps a no 1 gaurd. Other than that to pass a nova scotia barbers licence you have to do a hair cut with no gaurd and clipper over comb. (freehand)
whats your skillz like on freehand, and what you think to the old skool way compared to all this erasing and rubbing blending? Her high and tights I would give a 7.5 just becouse there is no gaurds used but still ive seen some shadows. Yours I can tell is very good 9.0, no shadows or lines but she is 63. Just an interesting perspective. I used to work with one guy who was excellent at bald high and tights, but would take up to 45 mins and hour on one haircut. how he made any money gawd only knows with a line up out the door. I am a hairstylist and just do fades with what best tools I can with a guard number with a bit of a fade. I have given up on this new skool fading process as 1 i am not that good and takes to long sometimes, either way if it does come out great i prefer to just get a haircut done quick, saves my shoulders wrists from aching and I get more money Great job though bro all the best and keep em coming
