I watched another video on removing and cleaning but could not get the darn thing back on. I then saw your video and WOW, saved me a LOT of hassle and added expense. After a couple of tries, I got it. Thanks so much. I appreciate your help.
I used a pair of locking forceps ( www.wpiinc.com/products/laboratory-supplies/501288-kelly-forceps/ ) to stretch the outer frame wide enough so that the pins slipped into the holes. After some thought about it, I figured it'd be safer to bend the entire thing, then try to bend the little pins. I inserted the end of the forceps inside the frame then opened them until the inner frame fell into place. 2 hands and a magnifying glass is helpful. Also, make sure to use only as much pressure as it takes. It's easy with such small things to use too much force. I broke one of the pins on the outer frame while removing it from the keyboard, luckily, I have several keyboards laying around for spare parts.

There was junk between my keys and when i popped it off one metal bracket came undone and i had to take the entire thing off so i putt the two white plastic pieces together and pushed with my teeth. I wouldn't recommend this method because i don't know if i just got lucky but that is how i did it.

I just had this happen last night one of my keys (still is coming up at this point and having to reattach it to even type now), and I looked at this video and some others and ended up figuring how to put everything back on thinking that everything is fixed and the key-cap and the retainer cap are both coming off stuck together, I'm just wondering is something broken where it just won't go back on anymore or what? Cause, even when I put the retainer cap on it feels very flimsy and not sure if that's suppose to "snap" back in.

I had to snap the bracket to my key first. Little posts slid under clips on the key to hold the bracket on. Then it easily snapped to the Logitech key board on my iPad.
The actual white part is stuck in my key how do i get it out. like the actual key not on the laptop. its in one piece , but the rubber cap wont fit properly unless i take it off so am i screwed?

My question if, how do i REMOVE the plastic bit from the button so that i can firstly stick the plastic bit back on my computer then the button.. Hope you understand my question.. one of my keys popped out with the white fittings still attached to the key. Do I need to pop them out of the key first then install the on the keyboard before pressing back on the key?

Heeelp, I took my "U" key off because it was sticky, and now when I took off the key, nothing broke (I think) and now the one that spins inside the other one is stuck on my U key. HELP

I broke my 't' key off over 2 weeks ago and I've just been pressing the little rubber thing this whole time cause I spent 2 hours trying to get those dang plastic things back on! Broke another key today and it was just my last straw. I'm going to try this now. Thank you!
thanks! shame i didnt find this last year. i pulled up two keys because the poor design meant dirt kept getting under the gaps of my acer aspire 5735, and when i pulled them up, i broke a bit og the plastic and ended up losing the 2 keys :( but, i just found this and managed to get my 'i' key working again after it got a bit of crap under it so thanks!

i think i broke the prongs on one of my plastic pieces on accident when i was attempting to fix my 'w'. should i buy a new piece?

I just had this happen last night one of my keys (still is coming up at this point and having to reattach it to even type now), and I looked at this video and some others and ended up figuring how to put everything back on thinking that everything is fixed and the key-cap and the retainer cap are both coming off stuck together, I'm just wondering is something broken where it just won't go back on anymore or what? Another good technique is to fit the plastic piece on the key itself, then rolling it until it fits into place. Worked for me, HP envy.
