That was impressive as well as entertaining. It amazes me how you get so many pieces off and then remember every little detail to the extent that nothing is left over or left unplugged.
Thanks for making this video, This is probably #1 major repair challenger owners have to do. As the original block wears out after a couple seasons of use, just after the warranty expires. And it's a 1000 dollar dealer fix. (on the cheep end)
I had the warranty fix this weak spot on my 2022 Chieftain. Then I ordered the metal replacement. I also learned not to make the windshield auto lower or raise by itself. This small step I was told can improve the life of the plastic worm gear and it's plastic carrier. I could be wrong. No issues though for years. So we will see.
Ohhhh that would scare the shit outta me…. But in the name of learning and operating outsides of my comfort zone, I gotta try. Awesome display of mechanical prowess dude!
Had the same thing happen to my 2018 Chieftain. But it was covered with the extended warranty. Not sure why they used plastic that breaks easy. I`m thinking safety in a wreck. Good job being able to fix it yourself.
I've got the same problem with my 2020 Challenger my local dealer in Birmingham Alabama said that Indian is aware of the problem and will fix it but guess what they wanted to charge me for the installation, $300.00. I love the bike but having to pay for a known problem has gotten me to think about other brands.
My buddy at work already had to replace that piece as well. I can understand saving cost in manufacturing, but what made them think a plastic piece would last very long??
You my man need to be sponsored by Indian motorcycle and all the aftermarket parts for them get you a bigger shop too your changing the Indian movement love the videos technical in teaching gave me a higher iQ 🎉
The replacement part number and supplier would have been handy, Morris is a Man of few words but he's right doing your own work is very gratifying 👌I guess the mallet will be called Morris from now on🤣
I love doing jobs on my bike but I am filled with terror at the idea of getting in too far and not being able to get it back together or breaking something. The idea of paying someone 300 bucks to have the guy who sweeps the floor doing a half assed job also terrifies me. I need to have freinds like Brandon.
I just did some cosmetic dress up stuff on my Indian Springfield this weekend, that had me crawling along the ground unbolting this and that and putting it back together, I don't know how you do it Brandon, but I'm lame af right now. Of course going on 70 years might have something to do with it. If I'd known I was going to live this long, I would've taken better care of my body. "Honey! Have you seen the Advil?!"
Haha! I do have my days where working nonstop makes the body tired. I practice yoga and stretching so that helps tremendously. It’s the difference in feeling stiff and being able to leap out of bed the next day.
that plastic worm gear was the bane of my existence. I upgraded to the metal worm gear. It was a task to get to because of the location, buuuuuut all worth it for my Chieftain.
I dig this video. Dude has the patience of a saint. I would have said "f*ck it!" hours ago. Thank god...for Extended Service Plan! I am not messing with this. I would be drinking a beer or three, and eventually break something.
Check the comments. Someone else asked and I posted it there. There’s a dude on Facebook that sells the piece. That’s more than likely why it’s not working.
Check with dealer first...indian has extended the warranty on this issue!! They replace the entire moter assembly and the replacement has the aluminum drive gear!
unless it's click bait u may wanna rename video, I was thinking MOTOR ENGINE..... anyway this was more of a Polaris paint torture test.... oh the cringe 😮. keep doing ya thang king.
Can order it direct from Indian. This part was from someone in a Facebook group so no part number. It’s mentioned in the comments where to get it. Just how dude sells the part unfortunately
Loved how Morris kept it interesting… lol😂 he is such a character
Might want to use a tank and fender protector. Less dents and paint chips from falling screws and tools.
That’s awesome! Loved the Thor bit too. This is what it’s all about.
That was impressive as well as entertaining. It amazes me how you get so many pieces off and then remember every little detail to the extent that nothing is left over or left unplugged.
Right. Good thing we have video to reference! It was an easy job tbh.
Ok, he’s funny. And did a great job. You need to have Morris here more often😊
This was non-stop the whole day too
@@BrandonBicasso definitely someone I’d love to ride with 😎
That "gratified" feeling is hard for others to understand. If you know you know type of deal. Really enjoyed the video.
Exactly.
Morris seems like a fun guy to hang around
He is!
The thor and heman lines are awesome. Wow thats a lot of work to fix that
It's not that bad tbh. Maybe an hour to tear down to it and an hour to get it back together.

Makin’ the bike better, Morris is a fun friend

Yeah, if you have a windshield and it's either up too high or down too low, could cause a bad day.

Hey, I'll do it for free for ya.
I may take you up on your offer, where are you?

More on that idea later. I appreciate the thought! Just doing what I love tbh.
Hey Brandon, where did Morris find that aluminum replacement for the windshield motor? I’ve found a few but wondered where he found his? Thanks!
The replacement part number and supplier would have been handy, Morris is a Man of few words but he's right doing your own work is very gratifying 👌I guess the mallet will be called Morris from now on🤣

WOW @BrandonBicasso, you got all, I mean ALL my foolishness! LOL!
Brandon and Morris....work together good ...more work together..please..😊👍👍👍
Yall make it look too easy! Also, you should bring Thor back on for future builds!
This dude funny af
Hope he comes back

I want to hang out with you guys so bad! You’ll seem like a blast 👍
If you're ever in the area, hit me up! He stays not too far from me so it was convenient.
King Kong ain't got nothing on you, Morris. Your "Training Day" Denzel was icing on the cake.
Man the amount of things to remove to get to that quick fix is nuts but you all kept it worth the watch.
Yeah, it's a lot but tbh, not a hard job knowing how the pieces connect.
Hell yeah!! King Kong ain't got shit on him!!!!😅😅😅
He did like 5 other impressions off camera. Spot on too.
He forgot to give you your props for telling him how to do it step-by-step. 👍
Haha, he did this himself. I learned from him 100%!
Nice one Morris. Looks like the start of another Dynamic Duo? 🤔😄😄
Awesome how to vid.
It’s probably a good thing he was channeling He-Man and Thor instead of Skeletor and Hulk 😂😂😂
He goes from being so quiet to goofy 🤪 lol 😂
Facts 😂😂
Nothing better than turning wrenches with bros
So sad a new bike like that has such a major flaw.
Brandon - where did you source the new aluminum part from ? Can you provide a link? Thanks

Warranty replacement like for like you got upgraded items which is why we wrench

Great video
Great content-your friend is pretty funny.
Indian really needs to step up and replace all of those with metal under warranty. Dumb thing to make out of plastic!
Just happened to me. Thanks for sharing !
Love from Mississippi USA 🇺🇲
Dude is a trip
All authentic too haha
Where can I order that part !?!?
On the up side you didn't have to lay up the bike for a week😊
Yep. Would've been at the dealer for days.
Thank you for this great video!!!
Sure thing, David! Glad you got value from it!

what is that after market piece? my windshield stopped going up and down. is that the reason?

Definitely, but it won't tear up again. It's not that hard of a job.

Nope, it's really an electrical motor component that failed. I don't clickbait haha.
Damn Man you could've used a power drill.😂🤣😂🤣😂
Truuue. Only this way to show people they don’t need power tools to get it done.
Who makes that aftermarket part.
ua-cam.com/video/9OenfJwWYac/v-deo.html. I think Paul mentions it in his description 🇦🇺
“Steve tha-yeti kovacs” on Facebook
great video lol
At least place a towel over your front guard to minimalise damaging it 🇦🇺
What a pain in the ass just because he got Klocked.
Peace

😊😊😊
👍😎
How long did that take?
Couple hrs
@@BrandonBicasso cheers my boy
TU!!!!!
🐅!
I hope you took a wire tie and got that wire out of the way
Indian upgraded their gear and replaced the whole motor as well under warranty which they extended. You didn't have to spend your own money
Dude, that's a lot of plastic!
Weight and cost savings, right?
Part Number?

Good job, now go eat.
Its a major flaw in all their adjustable windshields.
