Even if you could handle it to a pate, you could always freeze dry it, and put it into capsules to get the iron that you need from the meat

Glad to see use goat meat (& canned some of it). I use to raise meat goats. Try flattening a pork & a goat roast, fill between the two with stuffing, then roll & tie up. Slow roast.

    Questions:
1)Rachel, what do you hate to can but love to eat AND/OR you would never can again?
    2) what’s your favorite thing to order from Azure?
    Love this weekly video ❤️😀

Rachel, I was married to a man from Idaho who loved to cook! I'm a self-proclaimed domestically challenged female and always have and will be 😊 I can bring home the bacon, BUT absolutely hate cooking and doing laundry. VERY fortunately for me, my Michael loved both those things, which made our marriage even sweeter! Now that Michael's gone (passed away years ago) I realize how much for granted I took his love of cooking! You have been blessed with someone who loves to cook and take it from me, never take that for granted 😊I'm a new subscriber and love your show!

@@1870s gosh working full time and babysitting…that takes a bite out of extra time
      Here’s just somethings I’d enjoy…
Cooking together ( I don’t have a man that will help)
Going to the cabin and just walking thru the woods…
      Fishing
Maybe some scenic travels around Michigan…..I love those videos of Europe I sent the link to you awhile ago……doesn’t have to have a lot of talking in it to be enjoyable.
Some viewing of antique shops, restaurants you want to try, unique gardens and plant displays…….oh I know take us to the tulip festival.
Maybe a unique cheese and wine making shop.
What lakes are near you….?… just a ride along with you on your boat
Some culinary adventure you do together
Just some thoughts…..are there tourist areas around you….I’d love to be the bird on your shoulder riding around with you…….it’s fun to see other areas especially now with less money to travel far….. .
I live in the Hocking Hills of Ohio…we have tons of people here for hiking, camping and outdoor enjoyment…..I use to teach 1 hr pottery class and I was full every Sat and summertime days,

Ooh, Juliet Child’s chicken liver pâté (mousse) is truly delicious, easy to make, and wonderful on crispy toast with pickles. It freezes well. I “seal” mine with a thin layer of melted butter on top and decorate it with herbs or edible flowers before the butter hardens, instead of the traditional aspic. It defrosts well and makes a lovely addition to a charcuterie or cheese board. One of the organ meats that’s a palatable entry into pâtés. Have fun!

Give this a try to get the label off the ketchup container. Put about an inch of water and replace the cover. Microwave for about 20 seconds to start. Add a little more time as needed until the label peels off cleanly. Then you can put your delicious ketchup in it and create your own label 👍🏼

Questions for meal time: if you could build a brand new kitchen, space and cost not a limiting factor, what would you want to have (certain countertop material, gas range, double ovens, deep drawers, extra large appliances, etc?). This would interest me coming from both a chef's point of view and a gardener/preserver's point of view. Thanks. Love the What's For Dinner videos! I also admire how you incorporate so many different kinds of meat (beef, goat, pig, chicken, all kinds of fish, etc!).

I have an idea about gardening...have you considered using an "earth box" or container gardening? You can have the best of both worlds: you can let your garden rest and use containers to get your fresh homegrown tomatoes and herbs. It's "food for thought"🍅🍅

The way I do liver is soak in milk for a couple of hours, then bread it with flour and fry in butter and onions. Only way I will eat liver.

Hey, describe the goat meat. So WE get an idea of what it might be like. Comparisons, to beef, pork, venison, lamb? Greasy? Gamey?
You fertilize your blueberries with acid fertilizer. You should measure the PH. They are $~14 a bush @ TSC. Fruit trees are ~$40! Ouch!
Looks like your grill has a side smoker.
Do you watch other garden streams?
Chicks are in. Did you buy anything to later harvest?
You have a decent weed wacker/Trimmer? If you aren’t going to be pulling weeds (a.k.a., gardening), you need to trim them down.

    • @1870s
      @1870s  Рік тому
