I (personally) love it when people sign while talking... My friend is a school teacher and has a deaf kid in her class, so she and the whole class are learning to sign. And she doesn't realize it that often, but she always signs while talking because she signs while she teaches in school everyday. 😊
Whenever I see people doing tutorial they look so super depressed but on this video/tutorial your so bubbly happy and always looking forward on doing these amazing videos Keep up the hard work Jessica!!!!
Jessica Kellgren-Hayes it's the sign beautiful but with an A☺️ i love watching you sign because of the major differences better American and British sign.
When the video started and I saw you signing my skin cleared, my garden is happy and the world is fabulous! Then the video went on and just kept getting better!! Perfection! Thank you so much for making this!
Not only was this very informative, it was extremely entertaining to watch. I usually skip around DIY videos, but I could not skip over any bit of this. I enjoy your composition and of course absolutely love your hair! Thank you for this video.
I just flipped out and was flapping my hands all over the place when your wife came in --- HOW DOES UA-cam KNOW You are beautiful, your lifestyle (curls, rollers, scarves, ASL inclusiveness and wife) is delightful, and I'm in so many feels right now. Makes me feel like it could happen for me, too, someday.. maybe
You're absolutely welcome! Well, when I see tutorials for hairstyles like this, they usually go wrong and look weird when I try to do it. Its hard to make your hair do what you want it to. But you did a fabulous job! You really suit it
This is such a fun video. And it worked! I have very straight hair and I've tried following foam roller tutorials before and it ends up looking more 80s than 40s, but this tutorial really worked for that mid-century look.
Omg I love your videos! These have helped me get out of my "vintage rut" where I do the same 2 styles again and again. Tried this curling method and it works way better than mine- no weird frizzy kinks! Thank you! Subscribed!
Oh my gosh thank you! This made me so much more confident in starting to do vintage hair like yours! So gorgeous by the way! I thought it was going to be way more complicated than this but you made me feel much better about it, enough that I’m smiling from excitement!!!!
I found you through hair videos, but then all these other wonderful videos of yours started popping up. Thank you for being so delightful to watch. I have lupus and other disabilities and your differently abled videos have also been a wonderful find. Best wishes to you and your lovely family! 💕
i must say, i adore that you are so young and have such a thick english accent. a lot of british ppl sound AMERICAN now adays...! as in no accent at all. very flat way of speaking. no expression and heritage in their way of speaking. it is a delight to hear your voice. i watch old brit tele for the humor and BEAUTIFUL accents. lol. keep it and spread it!
I absolutely love your content! I love vintage looks, and you've inspired me with your story. I'm a CFS/POTS/not quite as many acronyms as you, but enough to make life a little more challenging, and one of my issues is chemical sensitivity (it appears to be a trigger for my fainting), so it's so nice to find so hair styling options that don't require hairspray! I'm hoping setting creams will be odour free enough for me. Just also want to say, thank you so much for your video about your conditions. I know it can be weird, hard, depressing and even embarassing to talk about, but it helped me more than you know. I've recently (after 15 years) started getting some quality of life back and the message you give fellow disabled people and their loved ones resonates so strongly with me.
This is so helpful! My girlfriend is always wanting to do her hair like this, and I've offered to help, but I didn't really know what I was doing. Now I feel much more confident with helping her out.
This was great. I'm just starting to experiment with vintage hair and so many of the tutorials are for shorter hair. It was so helpful to see one on longer hair.
You've just become my daughter's favorite person on You Tube that does vintage hair tutorials because you sign like her!❤ She loves to turn the subtitles on to see the difference between and similarities between your sign language and her ASL (she correlates the visual word with the sign)!🤟
Thank you so much! I absolutely love your videos, and I was hoping when I stumbled upon them you had some hair and make-up tutorials. I hit the jackpot!
Your video encouraged me to rock a victory roll at work today. For tomorrow I will try your roller sponge technique. I'm soo excited already :D thanks for sharing your happiness and joy with us❤
This is the first video that I've ever seen from you but I love how you sign everything as you're talking! Ive never seen that on youtube before and i think its amazing that you're so inclusive
Quite behind the curve here but - yay I’m going to try this out Yes please to -childhood photo pics comparison - vintage scarf tying ...if not already done so! X
Around the state that i live is quite hard to find sponge rollers, so i bought a hard plastic set. Gosh, is painful to sleep on it and pulls too much hair. Well, gotta buy online, cause now that i saw those in action it looks SO GORGEOUS, LOOK THE BODY OF THE HAIR!!! Thanks for showing this, Jessica!
This is just the first video of yours I've seen but even after seeing a ton of other foam roller tutorials tonight I knew from just this video that you're someone I just absolutely have to subscribe to!
First time here! Took me a minute to realize you were signing. Oh my goodness you're amazing. I just bursted into tears when I realized. That is incredible and I had never even thought of that.
This made me decide to grow out my hair and buy some proper curlers. I do curl my hair sometimes - I "rag it" like a victorian child, but now I'm growing up perhaps sponge rollers are the way to go! ...Now I only have to wait for my hair to grow. It's to my ears, currently... But anything for the vintage look! I bet it'll look smashing with my sailor's dress next summer.
I knew that sponge rollers can do this trick w/o having to make my curly hair undergo more heat. YAS!!! Will be doing this and resting nicely Saturday night for my friend's wedding this Sunday. Thank you!!
I've just watched your video and couldn't help but smile with you all the way through (and I was feeling quite wrotten when I first sat down to look at UA-cam ) thank you for your fabulous videos. Will wet set my hair tonight ❤
I am so happy that this video brought me to your channel. I wanted to try to curl my hair without a curling iron (can't do it on my own and my hair is poker straight, tried a perm and it fell out within the day). Since then I have been working through your other videos and love them
I saw you signing and I thought “hey I took ASL last year! I bet I can decipher some of this!” But while watching I thought “omg how much have I forgotten I have no idea what’s going on but wow I love her accent!!” ... The accent. She’s using BSL. It took me too long.
Yes please make more videos on ALL the ways you style and curl and products you use in your hair. everything! We love it! Oh and could you describe your hair type so we'll know if the products will be right for us? Like is your hair thick thin course soft etc.? Thanks!
I adore you. I feel so bad that I only just now found your UA-cam. I have been following you on Instagram. And now seeing that your hair is straight like mine I know I can achieve these styles to I'm so excited. Thank you so much
You are so beautiful and everything is perfectly explained, thank you! Absolutely yes to the video about your favorite hair products and scarf styling! xxx
You are too funny! I LOVE it. Laughed hysterically when you came to the part "do like I do and brush against your boob". Thought I was the only one who did that at times! Great video. ♡♡♡
Ive wanted to try sponge rollers, but I have really short hair so I use pillow rollers and take them out when I get up. I like any hair style that's 90% sleep, and about 10% combing out the shirley templeesque rings into a curly pixie hawk.
This is exactly how I do my relaxed hair but with hard rollers, soft are more comfortable but hard ones hold curl for me and with oil comes out Beautiful:)
My hair WAS longer and I never could curl it without taking breaks because my arms got so sore! But I just donated 12" to Wigs For Kids so now its just at my shoulders. I rarely take the time to curl my hair, but I have always been drawn to the little pink rollers because thats the only way my mom curled mine for Easter as a kid!
My mom (who doesn't speak any English) noticed me watching a video of yours and absolutely freaked out about how beautiful you are! She made me look up one of your hair tutorials and here I am haha
You made it look so easy! Thank you for explaining it so well and showing too - I feel like I can follow this. Off to the shop to buy the products and try!
I am a new subbie. I love your tutorials. I have been living vintage for about 3 years now. I love all of the hairstyles out there and I especially love your bubbly personality. BTW, My hair is longer than yours and I manage vintage hairstyles, sore arms and all. Your hair is lovely. I look forward to more videos
I’ve never used water with sponge rollers. They are like magic! I’ve had people tell me they hate them because their parents made them sleep in these rollers. But there’s no need to! They work pretty fast. I put the rollers in my dry hair & wash my face, brush my teeth and do my makeup. Then after all that, take the rollers out. Curls! I understand you had a setting spray so that’s probably why you added a little water to the hair.
I (personally) love it when people sign while talking... My friend is a school teacher and has a deaf kid in her class, so she and the whole class are learning to sign. And she doesn't realize it that often, but she always signs while talking because she signs while she teaches in school everyday. 😊
+Tracy Warman aw your friend sounds lovely ❤
This is very pure and very wholesome, thank you for sharing❤️
It's really nice to see! God bless 💓
"straight, unlike me...." 😂😂😂 ur so funny and happy, i love ur videos
Thank you lovely x
When she said I love my wife, I was just so happy. I felt such joy.
jess mill it’d be weird if she didn’t 😂
well that’s so good for you! glad you felt joy
Whenever I see people doing tutorial they look so super depressed but on this video/tutorial your so bubbly happy and always looking forward on doing these amazing videos
Keep up the hard work Jessica!!!!
Ha ha ha, well I wouldn't want to say anything mean but... yes. People do often look a little miserable in tutorials! 😂
As a lover of all things vintage and the mother of a deaf child I’m SOOOOO happy I found your channel! Thanks for being 😉 amazing.
i'm very involved in the deaf community in American and I love it so much. I got a name sign last year😊 I was so excited.
+Aimee L aw that's wonderful! What's your sign name?
Jessica Kellgren-Hayes it's the sign beautiful but with an A☺️ i love watching you sign because of the major differences better American and British sign.

omg you are so classy and adorable!!! I just love your sense of humor and softness!!
Aw, thank you lovely! 💘

+littlestbroccoli aw it will definitely happen for you! So glad you liked the video too ❤️
Jessica, I truly enjoyed watching this video. As a person who has poker straight hair, you have given me hope that I can have bouncy hair as well.
Omg poker straight hair. I am stealing that. It describes my hair so well! 🤣
I used to wear these cute little pink sponge rollers in my hair before bed... years ago! You've inspired me to buy them again
You're simply wonderful, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a video tutorial as much as I did this one.
+Laura Lefko so pleased you liked it! 💕
You are so lovely! I'm sure your channel is going to blow up, you have amazing content!! :)
+Yoga with Kassandra thank you, that's so kind! 😊

Thank you, lovely! It's not a difficult look, promise xxx
You're absolutely welcome! Well, when I see tutorials for hairstyles like this, they usually go wrong and look weird when I try to do it. Its hard to make your hair do what you want it to. But you did a fabulous job! You really suit it
@@jessicaoutofthecloset it is not that easy to put hair curlers on :D it takes me forever and never looks that good :/
This is such a fun video. And it worked! I have very straight hair and I've tried following foam roller tutorials before and it ends up looking more 80s than 40s, but this tutorial really worked for that mid-century look.

Oh my gosh thank you! This made me so much more confident in starting to do vintage hair like yours! So gorgeous by the way! I thought it was going to be way more complicated than this but you made me feel much better about it, enough that I’m smiling from excitement!!!!
I love your attitude and sense of humor! What a fun tutorial
+sohye so glad you enjoyed it! ⭐️
You’ve brung the vintage into our modern day world... we all needed that! :)
I wasn't taught asl because my hearing was okay as a kid, but seeing you use asl made my little hard of hearing heart so happy
This is the most helpful video I've ever actually seen on this! Thank you so much.
