This is awesome! I applaud your patience with the drawer fronts. They turned out beautifully. I must admit, though...the Ravenclaw in me would love to see a collection of well-loved, well-read books on the bookshelves. The uniformity of the Reader's Digest books is just a little TOO uniform for me! But you do you. 😎 Looking forward to seeing future projects.
Thank you so much! And I totally agree- I would love some more worn books, too. I just don't really have access to very many of those where I live, and when they do pop up for sale they can be pretty pricey. BUT, I do love they way the light from the window hits the gold on these books making then feel a little magical 👌🏻.
I was going to say the same, I`m always in awe of people who buy books they will probably never read just for the purpose of decor... My shelves are completely full of books I do read, and now they are spilling into trunks and every other storage space I have cause I can`t part with them, and a lot of them are travel, art, and architecture books so they are also beautiful to be on display!
(I would devour all the Reader`s Digest books, tough. Always loved it, and still do!)

Quick tip for priming melamine - Sherwin Williams makes an Extreme Bond Primer that really helps stick to the melamine and extend the life of whatever top coat you put on!
Good to know! I’ve seen so many people use the primer I used and everyone says to use it and I did not enjoy it at all lol 🤣

Love how the flowers pop with the gold frame painted. Love the green and peach frames and what you the flower transfers you put in them. The stenciled backgrounds and gold highlighting worked well. The box is nice however I think the paper on the drawers is so subdued that it blended in too much. I ike more contrast.

i was trying to figure out my style for my new apartment bc i wanted the academia vibes while keeping the space bright and airy, plenty of plants and wood textures. Can i just say you NAILED it. Hogwarts Legacy's Hufflepuff common room is exactly what i pictured my space looking like and you did such a BEAUTIFUL job. WELL DONE!!! Definitely going to take some inspiration from this room!

there are only two things that (slightly) bothered me: i wouldve made the upper shelf a tad bit smaller. that way it elevates the room, making it look bigger and the wall lights would cover up more surface. the door trim on the top is oversized which (in my mind) doesnt fit the cozy academia style. thats something i expect to see in a log house. otherwise, well executed and the outcome undeniably is way better than before!
so beautiful- now i want to redo our upstairs crafting space like this! i love light accademia and lean that way- w/ added classical and English cottage vibes LOL what was the sponge thing called for applying sealer?

We found a beige extension cord (it's one of those kind of fabric wrapped ones), we plugged in all the lights on the top shelf into it, and then brought the cord all the way over to the right, tucked it behind the shelves before attaching the shelves, and and it just hangs in the corner down to the plugin behind the desk. 😊

I tried that haha, the drawers go in a little past the frame so it didn't work very well unfortunately which is why i ended up doing them upright 😊
Love the result! I'm tired of seeing white-IKEA office looks, with bright colors and curved shapes (very "aestethic"), the white makes everything cold and generic and the bright and very Tiktok style makes everything very childish and overstimulating. I like this cozy and warm style better, like "librarian", it invites you much more to calm. I am currently on the path of styling my office spot and I want to integrate this more welcoming and simple style.
I love cozy and warm much more too! Everyone's got their own preferences and I can appreciate a bright white space when done well, but in my own home I'm definitely loving the more soft and warm look 😊
