@@digitaldjtips Just installed , nice build , cables are long. speakers sat on my desk but are about 10-12 inches to low even with the angled base. Biggest amount of money I have spent on speakers apart from my play out system in a long time. height is the only thing in my opinion that I need to change.
5:51 I think you meant passive radiator, it's a driver that's passively driven by the chamber inside of the speaker with no electronics and help extend those lower frequencies as much as it can by pushing the air inside the speaker and moves the passive radiators!
It would be dope if you had an episode on how to create a dj booth at home or dj studio. I wonder if there are any tricks and tips that people don't know from your experience?
got a pair for 250$, they are great. but buyer beware of a few quirks (dunno if there are more, i never used it with usbc or bluetooth). cable connecting left to right speaker is not very long, barely reaches the end of my 160cm desk and is also rigid at the connectors so forget having your table flush with the wall (if you are mounting them on a mic stand that clamps to the desk, which im using… if you are using speaker stands, apart from those included, you might be fine but still you will have to push them deeper into the desk since cable is rigid). second, i dunno if it is just me but i have to turn the volume knob above 60% to get decent volume, also i need to bring my modx (which is directly connected to these via balanced cables btw) above 60% as well to get decent volume. included stands are fine but can slide out if moved. also, mine can be turned off without unplugging them from the wall, someone was complaining they can only be put to sleep/standby mode but adam said they were working on a firmware upgrade and i guess mine shipped with new firmware since when i push the volume knob once it lights red (dunno what mode that is, didnt rtfm lol) but when i press once again they do turn off. all in all they are good and i needed small speakers and the 3/8 thread on the bottom was probably the selling point for me. got a pair of tiny clamp mic stands, extended those with a ball articulating extension and yes, now i need to be aware which way the speaker is facing when starting to screw them on, lol, but once done its great. takes little space and they are almost flush with the top of the desk surface. recommended. oh, yes. almost forgot. when handling them DO NOT forget about those bass ports on the side, it is easy to forget they are there so if you are not careful you are going to bury your fingers into them when handling the speakers, lol.
Thanks for sharing! Adam Audio is indeed issuing a new firmware upgrade which will address the auto-standby after 20 minutes which some users found too short.
@@digitaldjtips oh, wait. thats a new one. i think. darn it, i cant remember now whether the problem was no off mode at all just standby mode, or standby mode after only 20mins and now i see another comment that they dont come back on after detecting audio signal in standy mode. will try checking out and finding the comment but in a sea of videos in history and if the video in question was on adams official channel it might take some time, lol. anyways, will report back. but for now i can confirm you can turn them off with the power button, lol. and for standby after only 20min i will try that one as well. mine did not go into standbythus far and ive had them powered on for more than 20min. i think. haha. cheers!
The pushy thing is called a diaphragm. Bluetooth involves the use of a codec which can decrease the quality of sound and not saying that it's good or bad, but I can see a company like Adam Audio debating internally over it.
might get these in addition to my T7Vs which i have at my main pc 90 degrees from my decks, just to use closer to me while I play records. Plug em in the booth output on the mixer and what have you..but how long is the connecting cable that's included btw? edit. Another comment made me think the cable is prolly like 150 cm long and the more I think about this.... why not just have a standard XLR connection between the speakers so I could use any length of cable I want? I understand it's meant to be easy to set up and for use with a laptop or small table or whatever, but not using a proprietary cable could have made this more interesting for more use cases too. even if it's like 10 to 20 cms wider. Disappointing. Don't think I'll be getting these
XLR is 3 core whereas this cable needs to be 4 core for power +- and signal +- Looks like mini DIN, you could probably get a cable that works, might be worth asking Adam for the specs. I think the ilouds use the same cable.
If you've got the space then yes. The thing about the D3V is that they are very compact and a lot smaller than the T5V. + You don't need an extra audio interface.
So they have plain wire that throws the ohms off on both drivers of the dumb monitor, and they use a proprietary connector on both sides. Brilliant. What happened to all the marketing fluff of "active" monitors with precisely-tuned amplifiers... I wonder.
@digitaldjtips does it have a 3.5mm aux input? I see balanced stereo cables, and usb. It doesn't look like it does, which I think would be surprising. I have decks with a red/white phono to aux cable that plugs into speakers.

@digitaldjtips comming on Sunday. Will give them a work out probably Monday evening after work and the report back 😉

The thing on the side is a passive radiator, an alternative to the porting (holes!) in many speakers. It allows for more bass
Yeah, I understand what it's doing, just didn't know the right name for it! Thanks for enlightening me.
can you compare the sound quality to iloud micro pro and mtm mk2?

@digitaldjtips no problem! I hope it helps!
Do these have adequate bass to use as home dj monitors?
yes

Thanks for the info, we do cover this in our courses, but yeah, I'll bear that in mind!

Adam Audio should work to get the speakers to trigger back on with an incoming signal after its standby mode

Better bass than genelec 8010?
No idea, sorry
Price please
£280 for the pair
🥴
$150 would be nice
You don’t think you could get that (most basic information) using google?

I think I prefer pushy thing 🤣
@ fair enough. It’s not too bad. 😂
Passive Radiator is the correct name 😊
Passive radiator big shot.
These are good I have a pair
Currently our favourite desktops, the key being the analogue/digital choice
💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥
These things are neat.
Agreed
Interesting video, indeed. What if a controller has an RCA output only?
Just get the right lead
Would these work ok with the XDJ-az?
They're speakers, so they'll work with anything.
The things on the side are called passive radiators.
adam wanna some high-end,of course they not gonna use blue tooth
Is this comparable to the IK iLouds?
Yes, I'd audition these against those.
I got krk aux 4 for travel but not like them too mutch. I guess this adam are probably better ? I use A3x and sound great so

Curious if you would recommend these to pair with a xdj-az for a home setup or if you would recommend anything elese additionally
Yes, they'd be good for that if you're looking for small speakers
Delay time when using analog inputs?
Zero
4ms
For a little extra, wouldn’t you be better off just buying a pair of Adam T5V’s?

Nah, different use case

I don’t see the need for BT.
You can simply connect the phone / tablet with USB-C to the speakers.
Most iphones have no audio port without adapters or dongles which often break, get lost and have earth issues. Lightning to usb etc its a ball ache
Well, yes - but BT is convenient for casual listening.

Auxiliary Inputs are just as important as Bluetooth
Wasn’t saying they weren’t

Should have Bluetooth

Been doing it for years
Sometimes Bluetooth is low quality audio
True but good to have
For listening to podcasts its fine
