Got these today after a blind buy online. Here’s my impressions after 30 mins streaming 320kbps, will delve into my FLACs later on. Firstly they were muddy at low volumes as if the tweeter is switched off which I believe is a bug and will be ironed with a firmware update. However, works fine when turned up past the cut off threshold. Without playing around with the DSP and ran through the USB C the mids do feel a bit scooped, the sub regions of the bass frequencies are a bit flabby but not overwhelming. For the size I must say they indeed sound bigger than they are and the soundstage is great with plenty of details.

In my opinion, it is not fair to compare D3V just after of unboxing and 20 minutes of listening to your other used and well-warmed-up monitors. Even your ears need time to adapt to a sound signature other than iLoud's.

@@GaragebandandBeyondI absolutely agree. Speaker burn in is also a whole load of BS. If I’m spending thousands on professional equipment, they should be ready to go the moment they leave the factory.
Furthermore, can you imagine how concerning it would be if my gear actually changes its own sound to be noticeably different? That’s not particularly consistent, reliable or surgical, especially for hardware that’s supposed to tell you where you need to EQ and compress.

What a great review, and I never usually stay until the end of review videos. I made my own nearfield monitors (modified an existing active speaker from China), and I also own and love the iLoud micro monitors (not Pro). The iLoud's are something I saw Bricksdamane using on a private jet - he produces for Lil Baby, Durk, Kevin, Gates, Future etc and I also saw DJ Toomp using the same iLoud micro monitors hooked up to a laptop.
At that point I knew they wouldn't let me down and they replaced ALL of my old monitors. You are 100% right about home studio setups, and I would go as far to say the MTM are probably too big for most people, however at your level, in a treated room, plus the ARC feature, then hell yeah!
The iLoud micro monitors are like an incredibly good set of cans. You can hear EVERYTHING even at low volume, because the DSP functions like what you find in a home cinema soundbar... it 'delivers' exactly what you need to hear at all monitoring levels. I used to crank them up but haven't heard the port 'chuff' since I started using them again permanently from November this year.
The D3V looks beautiful, and I have heard similar comments about them from producers (not openly) but there is a reason why most people have the iLoud as a perfect desktop solution. I always check my mix with IEM's before arranging/exporting and my sound is 99% bang on from the iLoud micro's alone.
I do love the D3V and actually wanted to replace the iLoud's with them... but I need to hear everything.
This sounds like a genuine review but again is always down to personal taste. Instead of people arguing in the comments it would be better to take a deep breath, and try in your hearts to take in the opinion of somebody other than your own. This civilization never actually became civilized, but we don't have to copy those who came before us.
    Be happy.

Dude, you messed up this review. These are definitely not muddy, anything but. They are very precise. They are also very loud. Try plugging them in with USB, and doing the review again, because what you're saying isn't an accurate reflection of these when plugged in with USB.

well, honestly, disappointing you would give a review with only 20 minutes of listening to new speakers/monitors. from my experience, our ears are super used to what is 'familiar' to our ears and everything, i really mean everything, will sound bad on a first audition... that's why, IMHO, is so important to LIVE with the speakers for a few days before really giving a verdict. i'm not saying you are not experienced with small monitors...you certainly are, but it would have been great to live with them for a few days and use them more to get a better sense of their sound signature... i'm still curious ( i own the MTM first generation) and might give the Adams a try..

Now the speakers are with IK Multimedia as a warranty case for a month and a half, no news from IK Multimedia since mid of november, mixing with headphones since then. @@GaragebandandBeyond I mostly agree with both of you guys on the initial impression. These are meant to be a somewhat boring work speaker, and that's actually great for long days in front of monitoring. But Adam did themselves no favors with the lack of connectivity options, and the somewhat cryptic "listen blindly" labeling. The tiny Adams need really careful setup, so trusting their customers to listen and then know what is happening at each frequency would be better than leaving us blind on three switches that sort of work together. They are picky about having flat surfaces near the sides, which sucks for sitting them next to additional monitoring. They need blutooth, and a sub out. That's another bitch of mine, if they have a usb audio in, then you can't add a sub unless you have a sub out. The only option left is 1/4" in, which does not work well for the "not going to use them as studio monitors" option, example, a Mac mini has the 1/8" audio out in the front of the computer, so it's not clean looking if you have to use that in a little video editing rig. Once I saw the 'Desk" switch was making fairly string changes at 2 different frequencies I was able to get them focused, and likeable. Better mids than the iLoud micro, which really works for tracking guitar. I cut this demo track on them with a Dream 65 and BUSS OD about an hour after the Adams arrived at my door. ua-cam.com/video/eI0saDEiXw0/v-deo.html
