Ask and you receive, because degenerate turret rushing can't do it forever here is a general playstyle for Imperial Guard!
In my experience, simply rushing to put out Chimera as soon as possible is extremely effective. Especially with grenade launchers knocking enemies over to be mowed down.
i want do add more points to bunkers:
> Plasma riffle is not realy a plasma riffle, its pretty much copies damage profile of lassguns with slight increase on heavy vihicles and commander armor. (and decrease on anything else)
> bunker does same damage (at 1 slot) as 4-8 gurads with lasguns and no buffs (depending on target) more against vehicles and less aganst heavy infantry and commander.
> That damage stated above only factual from one side of the bunker, if enemy squad(s) are on different sides of the bunker this damage can be multipled up to 4 times for each side
> at 3 capacity it adds heavy bolter that almost equal to SoB heaby bolter with no upgrades and buffs
> despite being a single model Engineseer fully activates 1 level of weapons, so you being pushed you can transfer 3 engineseers to infantry command and they would have a firepower on a level with 2-3 squads of guards (for each side)
Alternate imperial fist approved tactic: try to expand, lose a squad or two, fortify your main base until it takes a 40 minute long siege for 3 armies at once to break
Have the highest kill count by hundreds even though you lost
So basically... Recruit as many men as possible, and charge until the enemy falls.
Turret rushing is the only based playstyle, but this may do aswell xD. happy you upload again

Wow I did not expect to find new guides for this game. Since I am still learning things like what you explain here, how have people been playing this game online? Just go into the multiplayer menu and make a lobby? Is there a discord server where people organize games? It's an old game, and I have no idea, but I want to learn.
Shockingly you can just go into multiplayer and find a game or make a lobby. Anytime, any region.
I have to give strong caution though, most players in the online while friendly are hardcore veterans and will show zero chill in a match.
Ayo you gonna do the soulstorm unification mod . It be fun to see you do it and it makes ai like a actually player but better

Ah yes the strategy called. If you throw enough men at bullets at some point the bullets will stop
if i had talent like you ill be able to have more fun in rts games and beat a normal difficulty level npc :( sad times.... do you have a guide on dow 2 imperial guards??

It can be, but you're rewarded more for having better control. It helps apply pressure on the enemy with him backing up the command squad and you can always attach him to guardsmen to try and save him if he gets caught out or focused too much.
Guardsmen might have good damage once you hit T1.5 but they're still fragile, any opportunity to force my opponent to micro and not be shooting at guardsmen is an opportunity worth investing in

How are you flicking between command groups? I click the button and it just selects them rather than pulls my camera to them
double tap the key for your command group
Ah, just double tap the control group number on your keyboard and it'll bring the camera to whatever is in that control group! However with my hotkeys I can also go to my builders by just pressing spacebar so I don't need to group them
Is there a gaming community? Discord, forum? Is vanilla or some specific mod played more? Are there any tournaments every now and then?
People seem to regularly play online without organization
As far as mods go its mainly Ultimate Apocalypse and Unification
I know nothing about tournaments, as I started playing about a week ago lol, never touched an rts before this

you ever try any of the bugfix/improved ai mods?
I have before but I just prefer vanilla. The people I tend to play with are strictly unmodded and mods tend to... not play nice with campaign or sometimes not at all be usable for campaign (which I think has been changing) but I was rather fond personally of firestorm over kaurava. However some mods can be a hassle to manage or even install depending on the mod.
I got pwned by Necrons at start, Necrons warriors are very durable always brings back when one down. any tip?
The real problem is their Lord for he is quick and get's ressurected when he died.
Necrons are mainly heavy infantry so technically you should focus on plasma rifles but in case of Imperial Guard, this is tier 1 weapon so it would be wiser to focus on expansion with turrets and guardians hiding in the bunkers.
The rest of the Necrons are slow so range weapon focus works very well OUTSIDE of fighting their Lord. He might be still the biggest problem.
From watching UA-cam videos, you need to tech rush vehicle to get chimera then use that chimera and few guardsman squad to harras the necrons in the early stage of the game, target their workers and generator
Hi, good video tutorial, it helped me to better understand the mechanics of the imperial guard. I wanted to ask a few questions: what mod do you use for zooming? Is it compatible in multiplayer? Why isn't the imperial guard used a lot in multiplayer? In the sense, i find it less than other factions and it is rare to see it in team games.

Mostly because its better defensive and a lot of people dont like that part
There is a learning curve when it comes to playing them offensively

Nope I don't have any graphical mods. Might just be either OBS making it look a little sharper or the camera mod in general making it look better due to the zoom :)
Are basilisks good for destroying buildings?
Not particularly, except maybe the earth shaker shell which isn't cost effective. Unless campaign then they're cheesy as mess when you can just earth shaker creep for eternity
What is the importance of transports?
Basically they give you increased mobility. Allowing you to hit multiple places more effectively and retreat when needed safely.
Also DoW is a little more archaic to where you can micro units in and out of transports in a fight to make them much harder to kill without sacrificing much offensive output.

I never touched an rts until last week when a buddy of mine said I should play this with him. I picked Guardsmen to learn as they had always been my favorite 40k faction, but I always just spam basilisks, and I suppose I was turret rushing too, but my micro is terrible, and turrets help alleviate that
I just got to the point where I can reliably beat Hard bots in 1v1 or free for alls, but I don't think I'd stand a snowball's chance in hell against the people still playing this online publicly
