I personally love this song. It's full of attitude, and I really like Dany's guitar work in this one. The fact that their first song in Spanish is a clap back at their critics that call them narcissists and malinchistas for only singing in English is pretty rock and roll to me. I think something worth noting is, this video is the first time they ever performed this song live. They just came back from a 3 week vacation where they totally disconnected from everything, Then they had 1 day of rehearsal for the show.
As a long time Warning Army member, I appreciate your candid reaction to Narcisista. Personally, it is one of my favorites even though I know only a few words of the Spanish they are singing. And yes, I think when they wrote the song, they had to think differently, creatively speaking. I recommend you react to more of Queen of the Murder Scene (Dust to Dust was the first song on that album), preferably in order, and some, if not all, of the songs on XXI Century Blood (their 1st studio album). I'm sure other members of TWA will be commenting soon as well (we are legion). #YouHaveBeenWarned
I think the 2 songs have different drivers behind them. Dust to Dust is part of a carefully written concept album. Narcisista is a one-off middle finger gesture at critics. Regarding English vs. Spanish, Pau said in an interview recently that her English vocabulary is actually larger than her Spanish one. Their entire schooling was at English-speaking academies.
You NEED to watch ANYONE of their songs from their ALBUM - Queen of a Murder Scene....You Have 'Ugh', 'Queen of the Murder Scene', or 'The END' or THE ENTIRE ALBUM!
I love QOTMS, i've listened to that album\masterpiece so many times and I just love it more with every listen. I get bored with most albums pretty quick and only listen to the good 2-3 songs, but with The Warning they have no bad songs.
The ladies have said it is different to get a rock song written in Spanish. They said it was a challenge (somewhat) to get the heavier rock and roll sound with Spanish Lyrics. They have said rock and roll is basically an English language phenomenon, world-wide, and there's probably a good reason for it. (or something to that effect) I really dig this song. I too am a "middle-aged" musician, and for whatever reason, I really like Narcisista. I find myself listening to it often, and LOUD. I do understand the artsy side of music, and how Narcisista has a bit more of a "mainstream" feel to it, but what can I say? It's in my top five of their 34 original songs for sure!
Rush's record label: "You should write more radio-friendly songs" Rush: Releases 2112 which opens with a 20 minute song The Warning's critics: "You should release a song in Spanish" The Warning: "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it."
You need to look up the lyrics. Anything but cute. They are basically giving the middle finger to the mexican media and anyone who criticized them. Btw, a majority of their fans are " middle aged".
(This is Ed) I speak Spanish so I did understand the lyrics. Definitely not cute. I did have to look up the word "malinchista" Which is what someone who prefers a different culture than their own is called. Deep stuff, actually.

The first time i heard this song I was already addicted to this band. Now that I have heard their entire catalog I get this song. That being said if all I heard from them was Dust to Dust I would think this song was more of a record producer built song. It is definitely more commercial sounding. Listen to any song off their second album and you will start to get this band. They listen to pop music and it crept into Narcisista but they have no influence on them to make them go towards pop. I agree that this song would have been great on a show like Mexico's got talent but it is still a great song that has always reminded me of a song like the Dixie Chick's Not Ready To Make Nice. This band will never intentionally go towards commercial sounding music because they refuse to change their music for anyone. That is what the song is about in fact.

The thing about them that blows me away is the absolute command of the stage that Paulina displays. Both on this song and Dust to Dust. There are rockers who have been playing for decades that can't hold a candle to her.
I would be interested in hearing your opinion again on this song after you explore a bit more of their catalog and see that their sound is more of an amalgam of influences and it's much more than just the darker, grungier sound of Dust to Dust. While they can certainly bring the fuzz and distortion with the best of them, their catalog is quite varied and runs the gamut of musical genres, although I think they would all fall under the category of rhythm based hard rock. But some are more "poppy" than others, if you want to categorize this one as that. I actually think the structure of the song is genius and I love how Pau sings to the "wah" almost as if to mimic the "whining" of critics and haters who accused them of turning their back on their heritage and culture to write mostly English rock songs. I love the more staccato, rap-flow type lyrics and think it suits Paulina's style to a tee whereas Dany is more of the traditional hard rock singer with vocal fry, inflection and gravelly rock attitude. Paulina tends to excel in the more ballad type rock song and the sing-song, rapid fire lyrical style like this and in Survive, which starts out almost like a show tune. Anyway, so much to analyze and I appreciate y'all giving us your honest and off the cuff reactions without really trying to sugar coat or puff it up. However, I think you're being a little bit unfair in your assessment of the verse parts of the song. If this were the type of music that we could hear turning on the radio, it would seem quite cutting edge and refreshing compared to most pop music nowadays that seems lifeless and overproduced. This has attitude, passion and imperfection, even though it's probably more of a pop rock song than most of what they have written. Look forward to more from you guys and further exploration of their varied and multi-faceted catalog.

If you guys liked Dust to Dust, you should check out their recently released music video “Choke”, the first single from their soon to be released 3rd album.
This is my least favorite song they have written. I agree with your assessment. I love this band to death, and always will. This song, not so much. Having added that qualifier, I saw them do another version of this song in NYC, with a guest guitarist. That second guitar was epic, and fixed the problems I have with this song, musically. Don’t give up on The Warning. I would suggest Dull Knives, or Psychotic.
Really long solos just aren't going to happen with this group. With one guitar, you are pinned more to the melody. A one minute tear leaving the rhythm to only the bass and drums is difficult. I would like like never solos too, but I don't see them lasting longer than 10 or 12 seconds.
LOL! I haven't figured that part out yet. If I could find that magical edit button it would sure help. I'd still hate auto correct though. It's the most useless program anyone ever came up with and it's everywhere!

They said FU to all their critics - the important people (the target audiance) got it - even if some don't. These girls produce the greatest rock music I heard for a long time. Your patronizing was misplaced. Add some Na-Na-Nas and make your reaction videos a hit. It's so frickin' easy as you know.
Thanks for your reaction; we all have different views and it's fair. Well, I love this song, and I think it's a rocking song. Mostly serving the purpose for what it was written for, although I wouldn't say it was like a play for American Idol. Their songs from their main albums are awesome and are equivalent or better than Dust to Dust. I hope you get to those songs. Try Queen of the Murder Scene for your next reaction.
Indeed, QOTMS kicks maximum ass and the solo in that one sizzles boys! Of course the whole album rocks, but it builds to a big hard rock crescendo at the end with a classic sounding and awesome "PAUer" ballad to finish it (or her) off. Get after it boys, you won't be disappointed.
Queen of the murder scene the album, every song on it kicks ass. It is a concept album which if you go through the whole album in order which you've already listened to dust to dust so just like Chris Colin the comment below me said you should do them in order. But if you just want to pick at random it doesn't matter what you pick it'll be a great song you're going to hear.
Kind of dig this track a little bit more than the first one, despite only comprehending this song's title (that's what I get for only taking French throughout my less-than-stellar-academic career!). Sorry to be my usual curmudgeonly, contrarian self in that regard, but that's just how this loveless loser (not affiliated at all with the LBR's awesome "Lonesome Loser",sadly) will be rolling (quite literally!) from here on OUT!!!
If you're familiar with the band Muse, this is totally in that vibe. Also, musically, the construction of the song is brilliant, very mature, great changes, textures, huge sound palette for a three-piece. They are true creators with a completely unique sound as a band, and individually with their instruments. Come back to this song, because it sounds like you literally couldn't hear some of what was happening musically in it because it was, maybe, too unfamiliar.
A minor correction, Narcissista is not so much a “prove you wrong” as much as it is a “go fuck yourself” to the journalists who called them “Malinchista” (a cultural traitor in the context they were using it).
WOW! Brady Bunch! American Idol! Wow. They turned down AI, AGT, and other talent shows to do their own thing. Wow! lol BTW, the song says keep talking, and let me laugh at what you have to say. lol
Thanks for your reaction. I think the exact opposite. I think this song is way better than Dust to Dust (which I also love). "Cute" song? Really? SMH You need to listen to any other song off of Queen of the Murder Scene. every other song on it is better than Dust to Dust. IMHO
While I agree the song takes a bit too long to get going, I thought the second half was very very good. The key to this song is the meaning of the lyrics and what they are trying to say. The NA NA NA are an integral part of this message and not just something they threw in randomly because its catchy.
An observation. Think of how many songs you now like but didn’t on first hearing. Then think of how many songs, *by your favourite artist,* you now like but didn’t on first hearing. So I’d give these guys a break if they don’t immediately say wow! I love TW but there are certainly songs that, to me, sounded average on the first listen but which I now think are superb.
I think the critiques levied here show a lack of context. Dust to Dust is a song which was part of a concept album that they labored over for a year, crafting their greatest work to date. Narcissista came about a year into promoting said album, when they weren’t recording or working on new material, as a quick response to something that pissed them off. They played it live and recorded it to make a “video” and posted it. Comparing a fun “fuck off” bonus song to someone’s arguable best release kind of serves no purpose It’s like giving Green Day’s “Fuck off and Die” (which was kind of a hidden bonus at the end of an album much like “Narcissista” is an “extra bonus” song) a “meh” because it doesn’t measure up to “Jesus of Suburbia” That observation would be both true and besides the point at the same time. The American idol reference was just insulting and lame. This 55 year old musician and rock snob is more unimpressed with the quality of the critiques than you were with the song. Not your vest video

I'm sorry to butt in on you're conversation especially since I'm the new guy, but you're both wrong. It's The End. 😉
Mark Bell but away! All are welcome in this huge family. 😉🤘🏻
Really long solos just aren't going to happen with this group. With one guitar, you are pinned more to the melody. A one minute tear leaving the rhythm to only the bass and drums is difficult. I would like like never solos too, but I don't see them lasting longer than 10 or 12 seconds.
God I hate auto correct! "I would like longer solos too" is what that was supposed to say.
@@markbell4017 You now that you can edit comments, don't you? 😎
LOL! I haven't figured that part out yet. If I could find that magical edit button it would sure help. I'd still hate auto correct though. It's the most useless program anyone ever came up with and it's everywhere!
@@markbell4017 Hold cursor over your comment and look for three dots to your right. 😉
@@TheUnderdogDe see, I have a phone and a tablet. No computer, no cursor. I did put my finger on the text. It highlighted one word but I couldn't determine my next move lol. I think I'll just stick to cursing auto correct and maybe proof read a little better before I send. It's the "you can't teach old dogs new tricks" thing.😃
This is in my top three from TW. Admittedly, I’d happily listen to them singing the alphabet song. Yes, I’m a rabid member of TWA.
They said FU to all their critics - the important people (the target audiance) got it - even if some don't.
These girls produce the greatest rock music I heard for a long time. Your patronizing was misplaced. Add some Na-Na-Nas and make your reaction videos a hit. It's so frickin' easy as you know.
Holly Molly he moved!!! For a moment I thought he was a png image xD
Queens of rock. Attitude. Rock!
Love how Ale attacks the bass riff at 5:12
Thanks for your reaction; we all have different views and it's fair.
Kind of dig this track a little bit more than the first one, despite only comprehending this song's title (that's what I get for only taking French
throughout my less-than-stellar-academic career!). Sorry to be my usual curmudgeonly, contrarian self in that regard, but that's just how this
loveless loser (not affiliated at all with the LBR's awesome "Lonesome Loser",sadly) will be rolling (quite literally!) from here on OUT!!!
Sorry, obviously meant LRB (Little River Band, natch!, above).
Great comments, and remember... he's a loser but he still keeps on trying!🤘
He might, but I'm just about ready to take my ball and head home from the proverbial romantic park!!
I think you don't give yourself enough credit. I'm willing to bet that like me, you also were able to comprehend " na na na" quite clearly.
Still a good reaction. Try some of the recommendations.
Check all their videos, you will come back and redo your critique!
Hey Doug. Said in the voice of the Judge on My Cousin Vinny: "Are you on drugs?"
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
🤘😎💯💕
ya the criticism was kinda harsh. And honestly I think the first negative I've heard.
Apparently you guys didn't take in the lyrics and what they trying to say in rebuttal to the critics. Missed the message guy's.
Yes we likely did because it was our first listen. As I listen to it more and read the lyrics, yes, it's a very powerful song.
You need to check out their music video for 21st Century Blood.
Another Drummer lead Singer! Powerful Song, though I thought the production could have been better. (Headphones)
TW is the next level... Listen "Evolve"... 💪💪💪
A minor correction, Narcissista is not so much a “prove you wrong” as much as it is a “go fuck yourself” to the journalists who called them “Malinchista” (a cultural traitor in the context they were using it).
Check out "Hell you call a Dream"
come on! is rock and tha´s good ! and how many hit´s did you have at your teens?
Really? SMH
You need to listen to any other song off of Queen of the Murder Scene. every other song on it is better than Dust to Dust.
Totally agree, and Narcisista has certainly grown on me!
Comparing a fun “fuck off” bonus song to someone’s arguable best release kind of serves no purpose
It’s like giving Green Day’s “Fuck off and Die” (which was kind of a hidden bonus at the end of an album much like “Narcissista” is an “extra bonus” song) a “meh” because it doesn’t measure up to “Jesus of Suburbia”
That observation would be both true and besides the point at the same time.
The American idol reference was just insulting and lame.
This 55 year old musician and rock snob is more unimpressed with the quality of the critiques than you were with the song.
Not your vest video
Yes, the American Idol reference was insulting and lame. Especially given the fact that they turned down American Idol.
@@krash66 Wasn't meant as an insult, and we didn't know about them turning down Idol when we recorded this.
@@UnhingedReactions It's all good, guys! It just seemed like you were expecting that Neil Peart came back to life and you were expecting to react to Rush, and were disappointed. LOL. . If you think the song was "cute", then let's see the Mousketeers, or Hanson, or The Partridge Family pull off a song like this. From a song structure point of view, this song is Top Notch. If you think it is simple, listen to The Beatles first two albums, or Nirvana Nevermind... All simple songs, but Great. I guess it's all subjective. We all appreciate you giving them a platform, and your honest opinion. Don't let me or others make you stop reacting to more of The Warning. You will definitely find much more to like.
We still love their sound and will keep listening! And honestly, this song has been stuck in my head since we recorded this, so it's definitely growing on me!
@@UnhingedReactions Their songs do that to you. One reactor had is 13yo daughter listen with him. She said, it was OK but not her kind of music... Then he said later... I caught her humming it in the kitchen an hour later. LOL. Check out this professional drummer's take when he just happened to go to The Whiskey-a-go-go the first time The Warning Performed.. it is really funny and puts them into perspective: ua-cam.com/video/rabTkPeGjGg/v-deo.html
Ah, the Latin female temper!
You should of listened to more warning songs befire this one. Songs like queen of the murder scene and the the end, the one etc. You don't speak Spanish i assume that might be your real problem with the song. I don't either but i heard this song after listening to every song THE BAND has. I love this song. Maybe just not so early in the warning catalog for you.
I don't understand ... Why compare diferent songs? ...
Just the only reference we had at the time. But you're right, totally different, can't compare.
Thanks for that non-reaction, Lum n' Abner. Word of advice - nex' time, try NOT getting stoned first. Go'on, back t' sleep now boys,.
This is the downside of not researching before you watch (It get why you do it and agree with your reasoning). Sure wish you could have known the meaning behind this song before you reacted to it. This is their answer to the critics that said they were not Mexican enough and were cashing in on writing and performing American style. Their answer- you don't know us, you just talk behind the curtain... and basically to stick it up you a@@! And note this is the only song they sing in Spanish and it was done just so those critics could understand exactly what they had to say to them!!!
I think the criticism wouldn't be as bad if the song had been in english. Just saying.
No, had nothing to do with it.
Pau started the song in English. She said it was really bad.
