This song reaches so deep emotionally… to me, it’s about enjoying each moment, as it may be our last… the guitar, the lyrics, the instrumentation… all speak to me
Absolutely one of the best songs ever written, no doubt about that. I said otherwise that hearing the first clip of this song, I knew this is going to epic. And it is. Jari's guitar work and many singing styles. Pure gold!! FIne dining, aah that was good!
I agree that this song fit perfectly on the first record. It felt like I was listening to sleeping stars 2.0 with the vibe of death and the healing Amazing song!
This was also written in 1998 so makes sense that it sounds like it could fit into the first album. The original version is included in the massive package but I've not listened to it yet.
I love this song. I agree with lot of people's comments about this song fitting on the first album but I think Jari added some nice touches that make this fit into the Asian theme of Time II. Like that thing he does with his singing that makes it sound a bit Asian-influenced.
This song reminds me of Death and the Healing a little bit. Especially the solo. It also reminds me of Lost in Despair by Ensiferum. Beautiful song 🖤 I completely agree with Pedro about this song sounding like the first album, which is my favorite album 🥰
I think Pedro is spot on. If You take the japanese influence away & listen to the demo (Time package), You really hear the old Finnish Melodic Death Metal Style. But it is really more than that. You hear Jaris mind in it and that separates it from everything else. Like the young musician he was and what kept him to do the first album. And it is beautiful, it could have landed on the first album from 2004 aswell. But with the second part and knowing how much this one means to Jari, it makes totally sense on Time II. It is like his little Horcrux Jari put in there.
If you hear the early demo version of this song, it surprised me how little was changed to it yet how it sounds completely different at the same time. This makes me wish Jari will work on some of the early demos, after completing the 4 new albums. But on the early demos there are truly some gems that I'd love to hear with great production.
Ive been listening to Finnish melodic death since 2003 and this song sounds nothing like Finnish melodic death to me. Incredible how differently people can view things. When I think of Finnish MDM I instantly think of neoclassical Bodom, classic Kalmah albums, Omnium Gatherum, Insomnium, Norther, Tuomas Saukkonen stuff and the Wintersun debut album. Also this song wouldn’t belong to debut album, thats prolly the reason it didn’t make it. But its a good song nonetheless.
Esta a la altura de La Tierra de Nieve y Dolor, y creo que hay bastante oxígeno para Jari porque hay Demos del TIME PACKAGE filtrados por UA-cam, así que hay mucho Wintersunday por escuchar. 🥂
Hello Pedro and António. Thank you for this review and for not falling in the easy and clickbait of demeaning Jari’s work. Time II delivers his promises and it’s a Masterpiece. I think you will love to review ETHEREAL’s new songs 'Betrayal' and 'The Allure Of Daryah', Portuguese Metal.
Unpopular opinion: Not a bad song on its own but fsr I can obviously hear that this song is written much earlier than the rest of the album. It has some parts, chords progression and melodies that feel random or like they're going nowhere. The only parts that feel completely right are the chorus (not the random snare roll part but when it goes all out) and the solo , which is phenomenal
the song is not as "big" as the other songs, maybe that's it. This is more compact and seems like an older song in it's vibe and use of instruments and lyrics
@@MiikaKontio Exactly, all the other songs are either really big and bombastic or intros/interludes leading up to those, which is why this one kind of falls flat. But for some it's really nice to have a more 'convenient' song on the album too. I had the same issue with Land of Snow and Sorrow. Really excited to see what else Jari's been cooking up though!
Ich fand das erste Wintersun Album am besten. Das hat noch richtig geballert. Da waren die Songs noch strukturiert und kurz gehalten. Je länger ein Song, desto mehr verliert man den Bezug dazu. Meine Meinung
Throw away your 2009 phone ear plugs and buy a decent headset. If that's not the problem you are just musically inept with zero aural skills. It's pretty clear this song is a thing of beauty, so go back to your mainstream pop. That's much more simplified music made for feeble minds. Laughable.
I don't understand it really. I do value A&P opinions normally and I know you guys know your stuff but comon now. I feel like Jari can poop in a box and you guys would put it on the altar and worship it. I really think if an unnamed band put this out, you would call it what it is. What is it you ask? It's a filler track with great guitar solo melodies mixed in over a generic slow melody. The song itself is super basic and doesn't go anywhere. I am bored with it 2 minutes in. This style and melody has been done by Ensiferum and Wintersun before. He stretches this basic melodic track for 6 minutes. I love Wintersun's 3 previous albums but I am bored to death after my 4th listen to Time II. I think most will realize in TIME that there is zero depth to this album. It is not layered with any technical transitions that they have done previously. It's all on the surface first few times in and that's that. Not a grower at all. If anyone can be honest enough after 6 months (2 weeks for me), they will sit back and look at Time II as a fluffy pink turd of an EP that it really is. The Forest Seasons blows this away and that is their 3rd best album...... Stop selling out and take an honest approach! Jari will thank you in the end.
Calm down buddy, noone has to realize anything. Is just a matter of taste. I love both time and time 2 far beyond the forest season. However I do not agree it was worth the wait, it had to be release as a full release waybackwhen and it would've been way better.
Actually when Jari made a real first class turd (warning) they critiqued it as hell. I dont see any sell out here, I like this song much more than, eg, Loneliness. Each to his own.

Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. Hometown of Wintersun. Keep up at great work A&P guys. 💪🤘

I totally agree
It's just great to see you two reacting and joking about Jari once again. Been here since the start of winersundays, and here we are finally
Wonderful Song
🤘💥🤘
Best song from the album
Now its duskmourn where shadows lurk time 🤘

Absolutely fucking fantastic. This is already becoming one of my top favorite Jari songs ever (including Wintersun and Ensiferum).
Really love that song! Great reaction \m/
i LOVEed this song, and the melody of the chorus
8:08 that was pretty accurate 😂
I love this song really much. It's closest to some of the great ballads like Death and the Healing and Tale of revenge that Jari has made
The instrumental ones i believe have the instruments "singing" the vocals itself
Great song, thanks for the reaction. Yari’s playing is phenomenal on this album. 😃🤘🏻
The lead guitar tone is also perfect making listening a pleasure.
I completely agree that this has some Forest Seasons feel to it. Particularly to Summer.
Forest Seasons was influenced by Time II
Waiting for the reaction of Storm )))
Are you doing Ominous Clouds and Storm as 1 track? They're separate on the album but they fit together
They will be doing, yeah
Bro I did not need to hear that “joke” from the Wintersun Fan Page 😂
Exactly what I think. Sounds like debut. Very sleeping stars death and the healing vibes

Very ballady and gives my death doom vibes (and urge to listen some Swallow the Sun)

Best song from the album
Have you two listened to the album by New Horizon tilted Conquerors?

jaris creativity is going down every year
You know this was composed before the debut album got released?
Nice guitar playing but the vocals are buried in the mix. Rubbish production and mixing
May be clean your ears
