I think this will be the ultimate tower tank , i have seen several of these done with two separate tanks linked with the tower so fish could go from one tank to the other, but this genius with an 🐙. I'm loving this💪

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate how thoroughly you explain things. I actually searched out how to set up a brine shrimp hatchery and in every case details were just not clear or just glossed over leaving the viewer to figure it out for themselves. You on the other hand explain things clearly and completely without talking down to or over the heads of your audience. Thank You!
When you install the tower make sure to have some rubberized seals on the edges and gaps of where the tower and the tank square connect. ALSO dither fish help in an octopus aquarium to get the octopus out if you can pick up some damsels or Chromises
yes, there is still steps to take. Luckily, im only showing the tank build and the basics to it in this video.
@@jdamommio with them it’s more like if they want too . They are smart if they don’t need to eat cause they have food and don’t need to have fun cause they have enough “toys” then the fish will be ok the oct will know all its needs are meant and there is no need to eat or harm the other fish . He might even make a friend then he follows
@@jdamommio No. They will expend tooo much energy trying to catch the fishes. They prefer shrimp, crabs & the likes.

I neglected to mention that it depends on the species of octopus. I’ve only kept O.vulgaris, O.bimaculoides, & O.cyanea. There are over 300 species of Octopuses.

I found out that if you use astro turf around the edges of the top opening. The octopuses are tricked into thinking they are about to enter dry land instead of feeling safe on sand. I saw one of the huge aquariums like seaworld do that on the octopus tanks and they leave the top open.
The Astro Turf Inhibits their ability too use their suckers for locomotion.
That tower, or rather the opening around it, will be an escape route for an octopus.

boy o boy !! look at the smile on your face. joey, you are not an operator ( means keeping and maintaning and doing routine work for the existing tank) rather you are more in to bulding stuffs. have saw the smile on your face which used to saw long back when you were buling one after one projetcs. keep carry one ! :)

Okay, this is epic…🤭 did not expect this at all!
A fix for the tower. I would take strips of acrylic to fill the gap around the tower and then use some adhesive to secure the strips to the tower and the tank. No holes for him to get out and he can't push the tower up to get out.

Over here at the florida aquarium they put asphalt on the outside of the aquarium and that makes him not wanna explore outside of it and in an aquarium in Singapore they put artificial grass around the top of their octopus’s aquarium and that keeps him from wanting to escape. Those are some pretty cool ideas that might work instead of fully sealing it off

Personal opinion but I think perhaps instead of resting the lookout tower on rocks, you should instead make a square, acrylic collar of sorts that goes around the tower so that it can rest on top of the tank at a preset height. I would also maybe put some kind of rubber, adhesive backed gasket material around the base of the collar that can squeeze between the outside of the opening of the tank where the tower will go and the tower itself to create almost a press fit of the tower into the tank. This would help to minimize any and all gaps that the octopus can find and escape from, would eliminate the potential issue of the tower slipping off the rocks due to the octopus moving the rocks, and would also prevent the octopus from lifting/shifting the tower out of place. Octopus are pretty strong and as you know are master escape artists, so 100% sealing this thing off will be crucial!
