This was a phenomenal game. MJ pulling up for 3s. Players running a full court press. Lots of ball movement by both teams. Both teams turning up on defense. This was intense.
I specifically remember this game as being the first time the Bulls and Blazers played each other since the Bulls vs Blazers game released for Super Nintendo. I got the game for Christmas 1992 and it was only been in stores for a few weeks, I was so excited to get it.
This Portland team was a lot of fun. They were getting a little older with their core, but getting Strickland and Elie were great pickups. Really sad to think Cliff, Jerome, KDuck are gone….Life goes quickly and some of good ones really do die young.
Clyde was not the same player again after the 92 Finals. Of course he was outplayed, but he had a injury this season and missed 33 games. After the 92 Finals he lost a step in athletic ability.

Magic was salty for Clyde's comments about him in 1992. So he took great enjoyment in seeing Mike going off vs Clyde...especially in the 1992 Finals. At least Clyde did a better job vs Chicago than he did as far as I'm concerned. The 92 Finals vs Clyde's Blazers was much more competitive than Magics Lakers in 91. The 91 Lakers looked like old geezers from top to bottom vs Chicago.
The Bulls vs Blazers games in 92-93 just didn't have quite the same juice or excitement they had when they met in 1992 Finals less than a year earlier.
@@chrisuncleahmad666 Portland in 92-93 really had a "so last season" type of vibe around them after Phoenix, Houston, and Seattle noticably passed them up as top contenders in the west.
Both teams with new slightly new jerseys Bulls switched the letters in their last on traveling jerseys to black and darker red letters on their home jerseys and the Blazers capitalized the letters in their jerseys
The Blazers were done by this time - they were getting old and their time as a power was up. You could tell that the normally rowdy Portland crowd had no juice because they knew they weren't going to win. NBC didn't even send their #1 team of Marv Mike and Ahmad to the game even though it was a Finals rematch and those guys almost always covered the Bulls games.

NBA 2K25 Needs To Design 1992 1993 Portland Trail Blazers Roster

Injuries were catching up with a lot of hose vets, plus they lost Danny Ainge to Phx.
